Let me explain: I'm currently writing two book series. One takes place well into the already Victorian era (1830s-beginning of 1900s), the other is on a more specific time, at the Regency era (1810-1820). I know men at those times used to wear mostly shades of beige, black, blue and brown, and that was pretty much it. Yet I'm having some trouble to find a more specific color palette for the women as they had a much more varied set of colors.
If it's no bother, I'll leave some more specific doubts:
-I know white was pretty popular between women (mostly if they were debutants) at Regency era. Was it still as popular in Victorian era?
-Did the color palette change according to age? I mean, did little girls used to wear more of X color, teenage girls of Y color and older women of Z color?
-I'm actually having trouble to decide whether this doubt would be violating the rule 5, and plus it's truly more specific than the others because it relates to physical looks, so it's fine if you can't answer. The doubt is, was a color usually more seen/looked better in women with certain haieye/skin tone? I try to think and, for example, I doubt a blonde woman using blue but also using red, or a black-haired using purple and then green.

Here's a story how I became a walking Inanna embodied entity here on Earth.
So let's start... I grew up in the suburbs of Colorado in a dark house with an abusive family. My father was quite dark and my mom was not here mentally due to autism. The sick energy of my father's abuse and the land caused a haunted house with sentient poltergeists. I was the black sheep of most things and my main friends were the men in the walls, so I grew up with the dead instead of the living.
I started hearing voices young, but they'd come with some advice and helped guide me through the world, so I've always trusted that they had my better interest then most of the people I was around. I've been a rather reclused person, but I've always tried to remain a kind person, even when I have my darker sides from the trauma of childhood and adulthood. I've kept a relationship with spirit my whole life.
I grew up to be a talented artist in garment creation. I got known for designing fairytale themed ballroom gowns and was dubbed a fairy godmother by the models I worked with, but my trauma got the best of me and I wound up with a narcissistic man. I fell into a space where I assumed I had done something to deserve the abuse he dished out. Then, in August 2020, he had a full psychotic episode. It was like a demonic possession and the worst month of my life. He also referred to me as a Goddess and himself as the God Dumuzi. I developed ulcers from the amount of stress and had near death experience where the Goddess Inanna appeared out of the waters of the dead river and requested me to go back to Earth.
Her voice continued guiding me. She pointed out where my mind was and helped rework it to realize the situation I was in and finally flee after my ex gave me a mild stroke and seizures. I fled to my sister who ironically was in a "contemporary shamanism" cult, mainly based on death magic. They worship some entity called "Crazy Woman".
At first, their version of shamanism was helpful. I had some knowledge and have studied into Shintoism, Hinduism and Pagan religions. The group seemed kind and wanting to help, but I studied narcissism and the effects on people, and I quickly started to pick up on the red flags by the Godhead in charge of the group. When I brought it up, I would be met with an intense amount of hostility and violence along with a whole trained technique of narcissism on a spiritual level. It felt like I was energetically being eaten alive and I couldn't stay awake. I lost my ability to create or basically function, again, thinking it's me.
But this whole time, I had Inanna telling me other things like, "You're to meet a great storyteller and solve the riddles of the world." I didn't believe it. My personal life was so dark ,and my brain was so damaged, I no longer could function on a cognitive level. Then, another friend and I, who also hears guiding voices, followed their advice to do a ritual to escape what Inanna called "A mind maze". We ironically drew the eye of Ra with our car as we ventured across the Cascade mountains and over a giant river. We did what's called a soul retrieval from hell and Inanna took over my body. It worked and our minds started to settle after about 3 days.
Then reality shifted my sister in a rage violently attacking and humping me screaming, "I'm the crazy woman!" I ran outside to fall in front of some stranger I didn't know, but had seen him around before. I unloaded everything crazy about my life and this stranger simply asked "Have you heard of the Djinn?" When I said no, he went on to explain ancient knowledge, saying that he studied the quorum tablets, language and indigenous studies from a ancient tribe in Persia (or now Iran). He's like a wizard or something. We went on to talk about the Annunaki and Sumeria, where Inanna comes from, and I recognized him immediately as the great storyteller. He came with a slew of unusual spiritual gifts. We now hang out, constantly picking at each other's cultures and learning so much about the world. Ironically, he read my parents book as a child and idolized the life of the child who's parents are Paleontologists.
Slowly, Inanna and I have learned to switch places and she uses my body to heal victims of narcissistic abuse, mainly 20 year olds (Generation Z). It's taken a whole group of young brilliant minds, a stream strange coincidences that can't explained, and people who seem brought to you by the universe or sky itself to center you down and realize your actually not insane or seeing things. I somehow just learned how to do this by sheer will to fight against the abuse that was being done to me to enchant something real because the people in the rich, contemporary shamanism keep it in secret. They are stealing indigenous knowledge of healing and are using it to hurt people and force them into their belief system. Somehow, I did this, and its honestly unbelievable. Most of them and my life seems almost unreal (or insane) to most people, but somehow, some way.... The entity known as Inanna is coming down and lending a helping hand to those in need. My friends all say I'm the real thing, looking into my eyes and calling me a gift to the world when what I used to hearing was how I was the devil and waspushed into such darkness. Now I have light and dark humbly embodied into a fairytale couture designer by a hell goddess who brought me back from the dead.
So here I am on the will of dragon (dinosaur) spirits, guided by crazy goddess grabbing random young adults to give them some hope and guidance in the poverty class as I live in my run down little apartment creating fairy tale gowns and working nights at the grocery story, fairy godmothering doesnt pay much these. I am a teaching assistant. I’ve been 19 for a reasonably short amount of time. I have noticed, ever since graduating from high school, that I am no longer terribly attracted to white men. I pass average looking white men on the street, and there’s no attraction present. I have felt attraction toward average and above looking black men, particularly those who are dark skinned, although I felt very strong attraction toward a light skinned 1/2 black 1/2 white boy in my senior year of high school (had colored eyes and was commonly considered to be above average/conventionally attractive. In high school, I remember that black boys specifically dating white girls was a “thing.” I don’t really tend to receive attention in my area, I have not received any attention this year. However, I also recall that the lighter skinned girls who looked mixed (1/2 black 1/2 white) didn’t struggle to date even if they were average, whereas it seemed that the darker skinned girls who weren’t above average were undeniably having a much harder time.
My mother was above average at some point in her life (always average without makeup, which is the case for most women,) average throughout my childhood because she gradually became overweight, and would now likely commonly be considered a little below average (in part due to things such as colorism yet also because she has always smoked cigarettes and has gained a lot of weight whilst never leaving the apartment so she is unhealthy looking now.)

Snow Elves (Taking this from elder scrolls): a race of elves that can live up to three centuries, are set apart from the other races for their pale skin, pure white hair, and icy blue eyes, they are completely immune to the Cold and rumors have it that they're capable of ice magic. Bran the Builder is believed to have married a Snow Elf. The easiest way to tell apart the Snow Elves are the fact that the females of the race usually have their hair grow to their waist, while the males prefer short hair and clean shaven faces. Ned Stark is rumored to have a snow elf great grandmother. Evidence supports this, as the Starks ears are more pointed than normal humans, Starks are paler than other Northerners, and live longer than normal for most humans, a Stark ancestor apparently living to 180 before dying of old age.
Lizard Men: A race of humanoids that are only found in the neck, this race is completely immune to disease, can breath underwater, and are said to be masters of stealth. Many believe the humans in the Neck have interbred greatly with them, to the point every human in the Neck has a non human ancestor.
Viga-maðr: the deadliest of the non humans, this race greatly resembles bears, towering over humans at 9-11 feet, this race has to have their armor custom made, and though some use weapons, many prefer using their claws and teeth to rip apart enemies. These bears have fur that can be as black as midnight to being pale enough they blend into the snow. Whenever a Viga-maōr goes into a life of crime, the other races are encouraged to contact the Viga-maðr, as one of them could easily slaughter dozens of humans and other races. This race sticks around the Wall, and are known to be the Night Watches greatest ally besides the Starks of Winterfell. Rumors say that Ned Stark sent a Viga-maōr to Kings Landing to protect Elia Martell and her children, and Gregor Clegane and Amory Lorch wore torn apart when the Viga-maðr saw Gregor attempt to kill baby Aegon. Elia and her children disappeared that night, and the Northerners refuse to discuss with non-northers what happened to them, Ned and Robert Baratheon having a huge fight over it that lasted until the Greyjoy Rebellion, where Robert declared the hunt for Martell and her children over. A Viga-maōr rules over the dreadfort, his ancestor having slaughtered the last Bolton centuries ago, and was rewarded the fort for his loyalty, and the Bolton Lordship was passed down to his descendants, The Snow-Paw family being the most respected and feared in the North, known to have extremely loyalty to the Starks

Mood Spoiler: still kind of a bummer but things are moving forward

For a while now my husband, John, has been getting more and more angry over little things and generally moody and distant. I had finally had enough and approached him about separation.
This conversation led to a big blow out and him revealing the state of his finances. My husband and I have always kept our finances separate. Also although we call each other husband and wife and had a wedding we are not actually legally married. This was primarily for inheritance purposes because we each have older children from previous relationships.
Anyway John revealed that he had basically no savings left. That all the money he had saved for retirement and for his kids schooling was gone. Furthermore he said it was all my fault since he used all his savings up to try and keep up with my lifestyle.
There was never anything crazy in terms of bills or anything like that and we always split it all equally. The house we live in I own outright as well, so there wasn’t a mortgage payment.
However I have always liked to travel a lot on fairly extravagant vacations. I would invite John or John and his children to join on trips, but never made them feel like they had to come. That’s said he was expected to pay for himself and for his kids. Except for recently he accepted every invitation.
I would also give my kids things he considered “extravagant”, but I considered “normal”. So he felt like he had to give similar things to his own kids.
John said with all the spending to keep up his savings dwindled very fast. I expressed that I couldn’t understand how or why he would spend all he had when he knew he couldn’t afford it. He said it was like keeping up with the Joneses only worse because it was at home so he couldn’t block it out. John thinks since I knew his job I should have had a basic understanding of his finances and realizes this wasn’t a lifestyle he could maintain. That the kind thing would have been to offer to pay for the trips and other things instead of dangle them in front of his and his kids faces.
Looking back I probably could have realized that this spending didn’t make sense for his salary, but I wasn’t thinking about it. I don’t think it was my responsibility to keep his finances in mind here. We had agreed from the beginning to keep our finances separate so to me that means paying for things separately.

"I’ve always done about the same amount of trips every year. Usually two with my kids.

It sounds like you don't love him at all. Why were you with him? Were you really together or just roommates with benefits? Why wouldn't you leave him anything in the will? How do you split daily life?
"With how things are now it’s hard to talk in present tense. I loved him.
For me it just feels like it would be wrong for my money and assets to go to anyone other than my kids given. For him well I don’t really need any inheritance, so it just makes the most sense for it to have gone to his children.

Update Post: January 8, 2024 (18 days later)
After reading all the comments on my first post I realized I needed more time to think about things. I also thought with the situation how it was it would be best that we spend the holidays apart to avoid and controversy. He wasn't a fan of the idea, but I eventually got him to agree to go.
Last week things settled down so we met up to have a more detailed discussion about the state of his finances. A few more things were revealed. I found out that he had lost his job earlier this year and didn't tell me. He got a new job in October, but he went over 4 months without one while pretending he still had one. During that time he only got a small amount of money from unemployment, so he started putting everything on his credit cards. His new job doesn't pay as much as his old one so he hasn't been able to pay more than the minimum towards his debts which are now substantial.
I feel like if he had just brought up all these issues earlier this could have been avoided or we could have worked something out. Now I really just feel like I can't trust him. I can't trust him with money and I can't trust him not to hide things from me. I just can't see going back and trying to make things work him at this point. Since he doesn't have a place to take all their things I've agreed to store their stuff in my garage until he gets more settled. Which means I won't be able to make as clean of a break as I would like right now, but for the most part it's over.
Update Post 2: February 24, 2024 (1.5 months later)
For anyone who hasn’t read my previous posts there’s two of them exposing what happened under my username.
I liked the suggestion I was given when last posted of paying for a storage unit for their things for a few months. My ex however did not agree to it. He said it would make things too difficult because the closest storage location was too far out of the way. It definitely felt like he was still trying to cling to things.
Since I couldn’t get a storage unit in his name without his approval I talked to a friend, who is a lawyer, about the situation. He helped me right up a notice that told him that he had 30 days notice to get their things or they will be disposed of. After 30 days notice was up he still had only picked up a few things.
I ended up calling his ex and asked her if she or their kids wanted anything before I got rid of it all. Well, they had been left in the complete dark about our relationship being over. My ex had been lying to them saying I was sick and then he was sick with Covid and that’s why they hadn’t been able to come over. I’m was not at all surprised this point. I figured she didn’t know about the rest of it either and told her. She is livid. Especially about the money for their kids education since it was part of their divorce agreement.
Anyway the kids all got what they wanted and I had a charity come and pick up the rest. It feels a lot better now that there is a completely clean break. Yes I have gotten the locks changed and blocked his number. Since there is no reason for me to have contact with him anymore this is probably the last time I’ll be posting.
I think I’m there future I will probably look for more transparency when it comes to financials in any serious future relationships. With how much he was lying I can only imagine what else he may have been lying about. Had I known more I don’t think he would have been able to hide things. I am just so grateful and relieved that I was able protect myself and my children.

I don’t know where you got that. My eldest is an adult, but the others are still under 18.I don’t know what/who you mean by why doesn’t any contact me directly.

I don’t know what to say. It doesn’t seem odd to me. We didn’t usually keep in contact when they were with their mom.

*****Update Post 3: May 8, 2024 (4.5 months from OG post)****\*
I know I said that that would be my last update. It’s not really necessary for me to make another, but now I’m kind of using this as a form of journaling which I’ve found cathartic. The previous posts are all under my username.
I only had one run in with my ex since the last incident. He came to my house. I only spoke to him through the camera. He asked about getting his things. I told him that I had already got rid of everything as I had warned him, but that his kids had taken some things. I also told him he needed to leave and to not come back. Surprisingly he didn’t make a big fuss about it. He just said okay and that he was sorry for bothering me before he left, but he did look very tired so maybe that’s why.
I have not seen him since and apparently his ex and his kids haven’t heard from him in all this time either. This update had more to do with them than my ex actually. His ex contacted me to ask about him. She wanted to know if I had heard from him or had his new contact information. His phone is apparently no longer in service. I told her how I hadn’t had any contact with his since the aforementioned visit.
She also asked if she and I could meet up for coffee and talk. I declined because honestly I couldn’t think of a reason for us to meet up. Though I did offer to pass on any info about him if I heard anything.
She apparently wanted to talk to me about helping her pay for her eldest child’s (who is now a senior in highschool) education next year. She also subtly implied there was some fault on my part for their lacks of funds. I rather cowardly told her I would think about it and ended the call.
To be honest I feel like it’s an unfair position she’s putting me in. The main reason being that her children don’t seem to care for me. We got along alright while I was with their dad. However since I ended things with him it has been complete silence from them. I did try to reach out to them to see if they were okay. They never responded. Even when they came over to get their things they ignored me and my youngest. However I did get a message after the call with their mom about how she missed me. The timing though just makes it seem sort of like manipulation to get money out of me.
Edit. I have since blocked all of them.

I had the most visceral experience the other night upon re-reading Dark Age. Allow me to set the scene. I'm laying on the living love seat reading on my kindle, and my wife is on the other couch watching Godzilla (2014) I haven't seen this movie since 2014 and I pretty much forgot about it all together.
I just flipped to chapter 10, The Ash Rain where Lysander is falling in his first ever rain for the fight for Mercury. As I start reading this paragraph of Lysander describing his experience being launched from the spot tube:
"I surge forward. Urine streams into the catheter. My stomach drops to my heels. My vision flickers; a ball of vomit catches halfway up my esophagus as blackness crawls at the corner of my sight. By the time I remember to breathe, the Annihilo is already twenty kilometers behind me." - Lysander
I start hearing the song Requiem by György Legeti which I recognize and associate in my mind with 2001 A Space Odyssey (one of my favorite movies). Confused, I look up and see this scene playing out on the TV screen.
I continue to read while half paying attention to this scene playing out:
"Only then do I look up and gape at the grandeur. The invasion sweeps along in its silent song. Ahead, the silhouette of Ajax’s starShell is dark against the nightside of the onrushing planet. It flickers like white phosphorus as the particle cannons of the Annihilo and her gunships lance diagonally across the horizon and toward the breach. The energy beams illuminate streams of starShells all around me. Hundreds of men in metal. And yet they form little more than a tributary of the great flooding river gushing from the fleets of the Two Hundred lesser houses, and giants Grimmus, Falthe, Carthii, and Votum. The vanguard of our force falls, uncontested." - Lysander
At this point I have visible goose bumps on my arms. As I'm hearing this really weird and unsettling/disturbing music, reading this scene and imagining myself from Lysanders perspective in an iron rain.
I just found the two scenes syncing up really odd but also incredible. Red Rising really needs to make it to the cinema in my lifetime. I would love to see an iron rain beset with Requiem and maybe heavy breathing and indistinguishable comms chatter but mostly silence while chaos swirls all around on the silver screen.
Idk why I even wrote this post. I just can't stop thinking about it and I guess I wanted to share with anyone who cares to read.

I am a teaching assistant. I’ve been 19 for a reasonably short amount of time. I work while taking community college courses, and have $11117 in my savings account from my job (was a sub, am now an assistant and have been one since January. Next month I receive a dollar raise, becoming an assistant means I work daily. I should have more saved after I’ve been paid through the end of this month.) I’m admittedly not positive that this is what I see myself doing for my entire life, but also don’t know what I want to major in and am partly here because it’s supposed to be a learning experience for me.
I have grown up in, and still live in, an area that has a very large white population (and a sizable population of one specific non-white ethnic group that is not black. I am from a place that has a low population of black people.) I am a black woman who is from a low income family, and have grown up in an apartment complex (my parents allow me to live with them and not pay rent, which is what has helped me save my money.) I have noticed, ever since graduating from high school, that I am no longer terribly attracted to white men. I pass average looking white men on the street, and there’s no attraction present. I have felt attraction toward average and above looking black men, particularly those who are dark skinned, although I felt very strong attraction toward a light skinned 1/2 black 1/2 white boy in my senior year of high school (had colored eyes and was commonly considered to be above average/conventionally attractive. I also had a crush on another mixed boy who was slightly above average as a freshman, yet average by the time he was a junior - I was no longer attracted to him after he became average, and also started to dislike him because he had criticized my physical appearance behind my back.) The non-black men I have been attracted to were Mexican/Latino, yet were typically above average (I occasionally feel attraction toward an average looking Mexican/Latino man. Occasionally.) I will admit that I am very specific about what I like. I have found Jake Gyllenhaal attractive (about two years ago I was wildly attracted to him when watching Donnie Darko,) and had a crush on David Bowie in middle school, but think I was more attracted to white men then than I am now. My only boyfriend, two years ago, was black, and was what I think of as average looking. The white men I have typically been attracted to have had blonde hair and blue eyes, but I don’t know why.
I’m introverted. I do have to interact with people because of the nature of my job, but I have no friends. Whenever I am not working, I generally watch television (as of right now, that has typically been “Laverne and Shirley” and “twilight zone” - I’ve actually been marathoning twilight zone every year since I was about 11 or 12 ever since my middle school science teacher turned on two episodes, “eye of the beholder” and “number 12 looks just like you” for our class. I’ve always wanted to introduce a group of youth to the series in that manner, because I remember that it actually got me hooked on the series.)
Black men in my area typically take out and prefer white women, or otherwise seem to be colorists. In high school, I remember that black boys specifically dating white girls was a “thing.” I don’t really tend to receive attention in my area, I have not received any attention this year.
