Modding ideas for my 2022 Lexus is350?

2024.05.29 08:37 Puzzleheaded-Trip528 Modding ideas for my 2022 Lexus is350?

I have a few questions about modding my 2022 Lexus is350 f sport AWD. I bought the car new 2 years ago and since then I've only gotten tints and a full chrome delete. I want it to look/feel more exciting while still being a practical daily. Any suggestions for the exhaust, air intake, rims, suspension, interior, or exterior would be greatly appreciated. The paint color is caviar. Do you think chrome rims would look good even though I got a chrome delete? Coilovers or air suspension? This is the order I was planning on modding in: rims, suspension, intake, exhaust, and some sort of body kit. Also, please feel free to redirect me to a more appropriate subreddit. Thanks!

2024.05.29 08:30 nutrition-curious Collagen/Glycine Intake with Loose Skin

I lost most of my weight on a high-protein diet (PSMF, high-protein keto, etc.), and now have some loose skin. I've been at my current weight for nearly a year, and have been at this weight for a spell a couple of years ago. Same loose skin situation whenever I'm at this weight.
Only in the past year have I come across stories from people who lost weight on low protein + lots of fasting, and don't have loose skin.
My question is this: I still have 5-8 lbs to lose. I'm currently on very low protein, ~7%. Since it's so low, I've thus far not bothered limiting that 7% to low-BCAA protein (a lot of my current protein comes from meat/dairy/seafood). I've been reading more about collagen and glycine intake lately. In my case, would further restricting BCAAs, or reserving a portion of my daily protein percentage to collagen or glycine help with the loose skin issue? Or would further supplementing collagen and glycine inhibit the body from using up its existing loose skin?
I'm wondering which of these scenarios would be better for getting rid of loose skin as I drop the last few lbs:
  1. Change to 3-4% meat/dairy/seafood (high BCAA) protein. Reserve 3-4% for pure glycine powder.
  2. 3-4% high BCAA protein, and 3-4% collagen, and perhaps on top 10g of glycine powder to balance the BCAA protein and aid my body's new collagen production.
  3. Stay at 7% high-BCAA protein. No collagen or glycine supplementation needed. Let the body catabolize its current loose skin over time.
Overall what I'm confused about is: in the case of loose skin, is it better to limit collagen+glycine (let the body catabolize existing loose skin) or increase collagen+glycine (which might somehow turnover or tighten current loose skin)?
I'm also roughly lumping collagen and glycine together here. Perhaps it's only one or the other needed?

2024.05.29 08:26 SomeoneVeryHopeless Panthotenic acid help me with my chronic back pain?

I've been dealing with lowemid-back for years. My doc said that it's just muscle weakness (which I refuse to believe because of many reasons) and refused to let me do MRI.
I've been taking 2x500mg panthotenic acid daily in the morning for my acne and surprisingly it eliminates the pain for like 70%. Why would vitamin b6 help the pain? Could my pain be related to a nerves' illness?

2024.05.29 08:00 bender031 Control/Manage And Stop Existing/New Boils Forming And Eventually Making Them Disappear With NO More Flare Ups.

Hi, I usually don't post but since I have this disease I need to post this as I feel it will help a lot of people suffering from this awful disease!
Places I had or have HS? Face, Armpit, Groin, with tunnelling.

Things I have done to try to manage it.

Tried Acne products, Homeopathy medication, Tea tree oil, Apple cider vinegar, Etc.. little to no effect.
Tried many antibiotics over the years from GP, little to no effect.
The doctors are dumb and stupid and don't think for them self's they follow a book by the FDA and never cure the disease they only put a bandage on it to cover it up that's all they do! Same goes for any other diseases! If they cure you, you will never go back to them.
This disease will not go away unless you make lifestyle changes/changing your habits I have been dealing with it for 8 years and finally starting to see big improvements after doing these things for 3 months listed below!

Things you must do!

If you smoke, Take chewing tobacco or Vape it will make it worse! You must stop smoking!
If you drink alcohol it will make it worse! You must stop drinking!
You must MOVE a lot you cant just sit and do nothing you must move your body around like Excising, Walking or doing whatever just move.
You must drain the pus by the doctor or yourself keep the wounds clean and don't sweat stay in cool environments.
if its really inflamed and big in size ready to burst painful take a salt water warm bath or shower it will open up your skin pores and reduce the pain.
Take paracetamol if its painful
Sweating and heat makes it worse in general unless the boil is ready to be drained then heat is good.

Very Important! Intermittent Fasting and Insulin Resistance.

The goal is to reduce insulin resistance!
Start with what your comfortable with what I mean is take it easy when fasting! Don't go staving yourself to death you have to be persistent and make it a daily routine.
Personally I eat once a day! and have a cheat day in a week meaning I eat breakfast lunch and dinner if I feel like eating them.
If you eat every 6 hours make it 10 hours basically you must feel hungry for a couple hours daily the longer the better to reduce insulin resistance you can not do this in a day or two it takes time! just like how your hair grows it takes time! little by little, step by step, day by day.
If you can't fast for that long then eat your meals but in very small portions 1/2 of what you normally eat.
Do not eat anything 3 hours before bed expect water and pills!
Remember you can drink wateliquids as much as you want during the fasting or at any period of time.
Consult your doctor about fasting I'm not responsible for anything you do.

Very important!

You must drink a lot of hot black or green tea that's right TEA with no sugar! Plain tea everyday 4 to 5 cups a day it dries the skin and strengthens the inner and outer barriers of the skin health you will see the HS shrinking in size.

Very important!

Get your full blood count tested go to your doctor and get your blood tested! Especially Vitamin D Most people with HS have a vitamin D deficiency! and or may have other unknown deficiencies which need to be supplemented and solved!
Get yourself Vitamin D tablets or even better go out and get sun exposure.
Take Zinc and Copper tablets you can find these premixed together.
acidophilus tablets basically probiotics.
Get yourself a ( CeraVe SA Smoothing Face and Body Cleanser for Dry, Rough and Bumpy skin ) Wash the effected areas with it warning this cleaner will make your skin dry! beware!
Consult your doctor about these tablets and fasting I'm not responsible for anything you do.

Very important! Things to avoid Eating!!

The number one contributing factor of HS is the foods you eat so be very cautious of what you put in your body.
Anything with a barcode and all the these weird ingredients labelled on it is most probably junk don't eat or drink it.
Spices that's right no spices even turmeric! And especially chilli spices like chilli powder, paprika etc no chilli! only salt is fine.
Bread especially white bread! brown is fine in small proportions but not everyday!
NO Fast foods
NO Fried foods
NO Diary foods.
NO nightshade foods.
NO Chicken, Fries, Eggs, Sauces, coffee, Honey, Tomatoes, Banana, Potatoes, Pasta.
NO Sugar or anything Sweet!! And artificial sweeteners!
NO Sweet tasting fruits like grapes, watermelons, peaches etc with the exception of berries are fine but not strawberry!
Oil if you can Ghee and organic Olive oil is fine.
all other oils are unhealthy like corn, safflower, sunflower, soy and vegetable oils and produce pro-inflammatory chemicals which is a big NO for people with HS.
And other things I can't remember right now...

Very important! Things you can Eat!!

Organic=Red meat, seafood, Fish broccoli, vegetables, avocados, raw garlic, Apples,
walnuts and almonds a handful every 2-3 days 1 hour before bed.
Green lentils is very good instead of rice have green lentils!
Kiwi not everyday,
pomegranate not everyday,
All Berries but no strawberry,
Rice not everyday,
And other things I can't remember right now...
Remember these are working for me everyone is different so experiment with foods! keep a note of what you eat and take notes of how it effected your HS!

Very important!

No stress nothing is more important than fixing your health!
Anything that stresses you out walk away from it! Leave it, let it go, and stay calm all the time! no matter the situation! and be confident that you will beat HS. You have the power to control your mind/emotions! don't let your mind/emotions control you!
This method of fasting and eating will significantly reduce levels of C-reactive protein which is a marker of inflammation and reducing Insulin Resistance! what kind of disease is this? chronic inflammatory skin disorder....what we are doing is (starving the bacteria in the effected areas so they don't reproduce themselves) and attacking it with good bacteria that our immune system produces with the foods we eat this is why its very important to get your vitamin D levels up and take zinc and copper tablets and probiotic tablets that I have mentioned to strengthen the immune system.
Takes time depending on your immune system and I know doing these things is working on me, my face is 90% healed my armpit is 80% healed and my groin is 90% healed and no more flare ups or new boils or tunnelling.
I gain nothing from this!
if you think its bad advice or too extreme don't do it!
I will mention it again consult with your doctor first before doing any of this!
I will try to update this post as much as a can.

🔗Organic Whopper Pepper Plant Kit with 2 Count

When the Whopper Pepper Plant arrived, I was eager to try the oversized bell peppers that the plant claims to yield. I carefully followed the planting instructions and soon saw the tiny seedlings sprouting. With time and care, the plants grew into sturdy, healthy ones.
As the peppers started to emerge, I was mesmerized by their size—these weren't your average bell peppers! I picked a few immature ones first, which were perfect for salads and sautéing. The flavors were remarkable, and I even noticed them being rich in vitamins and antioxidants.
However, when the peppers started to ripen, I noticed a slight issue—they attracted pests that started to damage the fruits. This was a disappointment, given the amount of effort that went into nurturing these plants.
Despite the pests, I still appreciated the Whopper Pepper Plant for its unique and delicious produce. The large peppers not only looked eye-catching but also added a burst of flavor to my dishes. I would recommend this plant for anyone looking for something different in their garden, but also be prepared for potential pest issues.

🔗Exotic Peppadew Red Pepper Diced Mild: A Versatile and Flavorful Ingredient

https://preview.redd.it/hhw300yl1b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d92eece091edc8b9d6548a8e26e7a71ed9e84d9e
Recently, I had the pleasure of trying Peppadew 00020 Red Pepper Diced Mild, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. These plump, cherry-red diced peppers originated from South Africa and have a delightful balance of sweetness and spiciness.
One of the standout features of these peppers is their versatility. Whether you're adding them to a pizza, sandwich, or omelet, they effortlessly enrich the flavors of any dish. They work beautifully as a topping or can be blended into sauces, spreads, and even dips.
However, I did notice a potential downside - the diced format. Although it's convenient for adding to recipes without any additional preparation, it might be a bit less visually appealing compared to whole peppers.
Overall, the Peppadew diced sweet piquante peppers are a unique and tasty addition to any menu. Their distinct South African origin and exquisite flavor make them a must-try for any food enthusiast.

🔗Mill & Mortar Pink Peppercorns - Delicate Floral Sweetness for Culinary Delights

https://preview.redd.it/9on36r3m1b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97cc77c976d8653c1e6dedfecaed83e0f2cb2000
I recently had the pleasure of trying these Pink Peppercorns from Mill & Mortar. They are truly a delight, boasting a floral sweetness and a subtle bitterness that adds depth and complexity to any dish. I particularly enjoyed them crushed in a vinaigrette dressing, where they brightened up a simple salad.
I also found myself reaching for them while cooking fish and meat dishes, and even in my baking for a pop of color and flavor. The Pink Peppercorns truly complemented both sweet and savory plates, and I highly recommend giving them a try.

🔗Spicy Habanero Pepper Pickles from Wendi's Good Things Market

https://preview.redd.it/uoaizmem1b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=08a9f8b5f8c991b63359d06e6274f09e4697af2e
I've been dipping my veggies into Wendi's Good Things Market Habanero Pepper Pickles, and let me tell you, they are a spicy delight! The refreshing crunch of the cucumbers combined with the zesty habanero peppers really packs a flavorful punch. I'm all about trying new things, and these pickles certainly add some heat to my food.
One of the things I truly appreciate is the use of fresh ingredients like onions, garlic, and an abundance of fragrant dill. They add a wonderful aroma that lingers in the fridge, making these pickles a delight to have on hand.
However, one thing to keep in mind is that these pickles are definitely not for the faint of heart. Their heat intensity can be quite potent, so they may not be suitable for those who prefer milder flavors. But when it comes to delivering a spicy kick, Wendi's Habanero Pepper Pickles truly don't disappoint.

🔗Pepperoncini - Imported for Italian Antipasto Elegance

Recently, I had the pleasure of trying Uncle Giuseppe's Imported Pepperoncini, and I must say, it was a delightful addition to my Italian dishes. The pepperoncini added a tangy sweetness that truly brought my antipasto to life.
The 43 pepper balls were perfect for sharing, and the quality was evident in every bite. However, I did notice that it could be a bit too sweet for some taste buds, but overall, it was a fantastic Italian staple.

🔗Mouth-blazing Carolina Reaper Cheese Balls: Pepper Puffs Challenge for Spicy Food Lovers

I recently tried these Anthony Spices Carolina Reaper Cheese Balls, and let me tell you, they're definitely the hottest thing I've ever put in my mouth! . The heat was intense, but the cheesy flavor was so delicious that it made me want to grab another one. It's a fun challenge to see how long you can handle the heat, and it's perfect for spice enthusiasts.
However, be prepared to experience a bit of discomfort if you're not used to super-hot foods! . I'd recommend having something cool to drink nearby, just in case.
Overall, it's a thrilling experience and a great snack for those who love their food with a kick! .

🔗Rare Black Peppercorns from South West Morocco

I've been using Terre Exotique's Black Pepper regularly in my daily cooking and I must say, it's a real game-changer. The black peppercorns I received were large and perfectly aromatic.
It added a kick of heat yet a warm, spicy taste to my dishes. But what I loved the most is how this imported black pepper from South West Morocco added depth and richness to my recipes. It's perfect for the spicy-lover as it packs a punch, yet remains balanced and mild for those who prefer a refined heat.
And, a big compliment - when I added it to my desserts, it elevated them to a whole new level! . So yes, it's more than just a pepper; it's an ingredient that brings life to any dish, and that's why it's been a staple in my kitchen ever since I started using it.

🔗Flavorful Peppercorn Medley for Cooking and Seasoning

I've been using the Whole Peppercorn Medley by It's Delish for a few weeks, and I have to say it's been a game-changer in my cooking. The reusable container it comes in is a bonus, making it a practical addition to my spice rack. The unique blend of multicolored peppercorns adds a touch of elegance to any dish, and I find myself using it more often than my typical black pepper.
One of my favorite features is the versatility of this peppercorn medley. It's not just for soups and stews; it's perfect for adding depth to salads, omelets, and even homemade hamburgers. I love that it adds a pop of color to my meals while also contributing a rich, aromatic flavor.
However, there have been a few hiccups. The packaging has been hit or miss - sometimes the container twists open easily, while other times it's a struggle. Additionally, the peppercorns themselves can be a little inconsistent in color and size, but that doesn't seem to impact the taste.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the Whole Peppercorn Medley by It's Delish. It's a high-quality addition to my kitchen and has added a touch of elegance to my daily cooking routine.

🔗Authentic Basque Espelette Pepper for Flavorful Dishes

I have used the Piment D'Espelette Basque Pepper by Matiz and loved the way it adds a sweet and mildly spicy touch to my dishes. The coarsely ground peppers with a shaker top made it easy to use. A traditional Basque dish, piperrada, uses this pepper and it truly embodies the essence of the region's cuisine.
The use of this product has enhanced my cooking experience and added depth to my meals.

🔗China-Origin Dried Bell Peppers for Versatile Use

https://preview.redd.it/qm5m5qoo1b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7dc4b41d71a0745fd9261b671738b42abf91c013
I've been using the Frontier Co-op Red & Green Bell Peppers Diced 16 oz in my daily life and it's been a fantastic addition to my cooking. The diced bell peppers are perfect for adding depth to my soups, stews, marinades, sauces, and dips. I love how convenient they are, and the fact that they're dehydrated makes them easily storeable without losing any of their delicious flavour.
One of the highlights of this product is its versatility. It's great for any dish that calls for fresh bell peppers, and they rehydrate quite easily by soaking them in hot water for a short period. This means you can use them just like fresh bell peppers if you're out of fresh ones. The packaging is also a plus, as it's a disc cap which makes it easy to store and keep the product fresh.
However, one slight downside is the origin of the product. As a conscious consumer, I would prefer if the product was sourced and produced locally. Despite this, the diced bell peppers from Frontier Co-op have been a reliable kitchen staple for me and I highly recommend them.

🔗Assorted Hot and Mild Peppadew Whole Piquante Peppers

https://preview.redd.it/y9evt73p1b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=22765231be96635ec0ca11bd4e7f5783b100650a
I've been using the HABP Global Peppadew Whole Piquante Peppers Assorted Pack for quite a while now, and I have to say, it's become a staple in my kitchen. Not only do you get a variety of flavors, but the convenient 14oz glass jars make it easy to store and use.
What I love about this product is that you can have both hot and mild peppers in one order - perfect for any dish! I've found that the peppers are fantastic when added to salads or as a garnish, and their distinct flavors really enhance the taste of any dish.
The Kosher certification is a major plus, as it ensures that the product is made with high-quality ingredients. However, one thing I didn't like was that I had to refrigerate the jar once opened, which took up some space in my fridge.
Overall, the HABP Global Peppadew Whole Piquante Peppers Assorted Pack is a great addition to any kitchen, and its versatility and convenience make it a must-try for any pepper lover.

🔗Whole Pink Peppercorns by Unpretentious Baker: Bring Spice and Sweetness to Your Kitchen

I've been using the Unpretentious Baker Whole Pink Peppercorns in my kitchen for a while now and I must say, they've been quite the game-changer. The fruity scent is so bright and cheerful that it immediately lifts my mood when I open the reusable container.
The peppercorns add a delightful sweet and spicy kick to any dish, making it extra special. The only downside is that it comes in a single container, so if you're planning on using a lot, you might have to reorder more. Overall, it's a great product with a lot of potential.

🔗Pink Peppercorns: Sweet, Fruity, Spicy Gourmet Peppercorns

https://preview.redd.it/61n1klup1b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72f782f5eab050c7d80baefd2a9100eb60952b9c
As I delved into the world of Frontier pink peppercorns, I was eager to experience this unique and flavorful addition to my dishes. The packaging promised a sweet, fruity, peppery taste and a lovely pink hue that would add an exotic touch to any meal. The grinder bottle design was a convenient element, allowing me to easily measure and incorporate the peppercorns into my recipes.
Upon opening the grinder, I was greeted with a delightful and fresh aroma of pink peppercorns. The initial bites of the peppercorns revealed a mild peppery taste with a touch of fruity sweetness. This combination made for a truly memorable culinary experience, elevating my savory dishes and enhancing their overall flavor profile.
However, one issue I encountered was with the grinder itself. Despite having a sufficient amount of pink peppercorns, I found myself struggling to achieve a consistent grind. I noticed that the grinder would often produce a mix of finely ground pepper and larger pieces, which could be frustrating if one were looking for a uniformly ground spice for recipes that require precision.
In conclusion, the Frontier pink peppercorns were indeed a delightful addition to my culinary repertoire. The unique combination of flavors and the convenient grinder packaging were highlights that I appreciated. However, the inconsistency in the grind may be something to consider if one is in search of a more controlled texture for their dishes. Overall, I recommend these pink peppercorns for those who are looking for a flavorful alternative to traditional black pepper.

🔗High-Quality Brazilian Pink Peppercorns - Flavorful Addition for Meats and Seafood

I've recently been experimenting with different ways to add flavor to my culinary creations, and I came across Viva Doria's Brazilian Whole Pink Peppercorn. From the get-go, I was drawn to the vibrant, blushing red husk that gently encased the tiny, earthy brown seed. The combination of the pine and citrus aromas, along with the herbaceous floral hints and a delicate lemon-like flavor, made me eager to incorporate these peppercorns into my dishes.
With whole, hand-harvested pink peppercorns sourced directly from the Brazilian pepper trees, I knew I was getting a high-quality product. The fact that it's packed in the USA was a plus, as I could trust the quality of the packaging and storage. Viva Doria's peppercorns were a delight to add to various dishes, from meat and seafood to soups and vegetables, and they truly added an incredible depth of flavor.
However, there were a few minor downsides to my experience. I found that the peppercorns had a slightly damp consistency, which made them a bit difficult to use on their own as a garnish. I also noticed that the peppercorns didn't grind as finely as I would have preferred, but that didn't impact their overall flavor profile.
All in all, I'd highly recommend Viva Doria's Brazilian Whole Pink Peppercorn for anyone looking to elevate their cooking game with a versatile, flavorful spice. Though the dampness and coarseness were slight drawbacks, the unique combination of flavors and high-quality sourcing make it a standout product.

🔗Delicious Pickled Peppers: Sweet Piquant Peppers 14 Ounce (Pack of 3)

As a reviewer, I recently tried the Peppadew Sweet Piquant Peppers in my daily life and I must say, they have truly made an impression. With three 14-ounce bottles in one pack, these peppers are not only rich in flavor but also have great nutritional benefits. The variety of flavors, including mild and hot, cater to different tastes, which is perfect for those who enjoy their peppers with a bit of heat.
What stood out most to me was the unique and eye-catching appearance of these peppers. They resembled cherry tomatoes and, as I bit into one, I was delightfully surprised by the delightful balance of sweet and spicy flavors. The marinated recipe used is truly a secret, but it's clear that Peppadew has perfected the art of combining heat and sweetness.
Using these peppers is incredibly versatile. You can add them to any recipe, infuse cocktails, blend to create dips and spreads, or simply enjoy them as a snack straight from the jar. Regardless of how you choose to use them, Peppadew Sweet Piquant Peppers add a delightful punch of flavor to any dish.
That being said, as with any product, there are minor cons to consider. While these peppers are delightful to taste and use, they can be a bit of a mess to handle. Their juice can sometimes spill, leaving a mess to clean up. Nonetheless, the enjoyment I derived from using these peppers far outweighs any minor inconvenience.

FAQ

What are Pepper Balls?

Pepper Balls are a non-lethal, non-projectile, foam ball that contains an irritant, typically a capsaicin-based pepper spray. When the ball breaks on impact, the irritant is released, causing the target to experience a burning sensation.

Why should I use Pepper Balls instead of traditional pepper spray?

Pepper Balls provide several advantages over traditional pepper spray. They have a longer range, and the foam ball ensures better accuracy. Additionally, they are less likely to cause injury and are considered safer to use in close quarters.

Are Pepper Balls humane?

Yes, Pepper Balls are considered humane because they are non-lethal and cause only temporary discomfort to the target. They are legal in most jurisdictions and are commonly used for crowd control, self-defense, and animal deterrence.

https://preview.redd.it/dagmbult1b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1fe0d2f89dafc180ca779ee58f1ef42d4123a3d

What are the benefits of using Pepper Balls for self-defense?

Using Pepper Balls for self-defense provides several benefits. They are effective without causing physical harm, and the irritant causes the target to become incapacitated, providing a window of opportunity for escape. Additionally, Pepper Balls have a longer range and better accuracy than traditional pepper spray.

How long does it take for the burning sensation to subside after being hit by a Pepper Ball?

The duration of the burning sensation varies depending on factors such as the individual's sensitivity to capsaicin and the amount of irritant released. Generally, the burning sensation lasts between 15 to 60 minutes.

Are Pepper Balls suitable for home defense?

Yes, Pepper Balls can be used for home defense. They are non-lethal and provide an effective deterrent against intruders. Additionally, they are less likely to cause injury to family members or pets.

Can Pepper Balls be used for animal deterrence?

Yes, Pepper Balls can be used for animal deterrence. They are effective at deterring aggressive animals such as bears or dogs without causing any serious harm to the animal. The irritant typically causes the animal to flee the area for a few minutes.

Are Pepper Balls legal in my state?

Laws regarding Pepper Balls vary by state, so it's essential to check local laws before purchasing. In general, they are legal for self-defense and animal deterrence purposes, but restrictions may apply in certain situations or contexts.

What is the recommended distance for aiming Pepper Balls?

The recommended distance for aiming Pepper Balls is between 3 to 10 feet. This range allows for good accuracy and ensures that the foam ball will not ricochet off an object or person, causing harm.

Can I reuse a Pepper Ball once it has been deployed?

No, Pepper Balls are designed for a single use. Once the ball breaks and the irritant is released, it becomes ineffective for further use. Dispose of the used Pepper Ball in an appropriate manner, such as in a trash can away from people and animals.

2024.05.29 07:12 hellseygrammer soooo tired after total thyroidectomy…… what can I do until I see my doctor next?

I’m 6 weeks post op from my TT and am still so unbelievably tired! I can’t get through the day without a nap, and some days I’m even taking two or three. I feel like all I do is sleep, and the times I’m awake are just breaks from my naps!
I had blood work done today (first time since my surgery) and my doctor said everything looks great. I’m feeling disappointed, ig because I thought if my dosage needed to be adjusted that would be an “easy” answer to why I feel so tired. But now I’m not sure how to feel better if the medication isn’t the problem.
My doctor said I probably am still recovering (including the thyroidectomy, I had three surgeries in the span of 6 weeks this spring) and I just need more time. My next appointment with her will be in 3 months, so I guess we’ll see how I’m feeling then.
But I’m wondering if there’s anything I can be doing on my own in the meantime to help with the tiredness? I’m taking vitamin A, iron, magnesium and B12. Not getting much exercise or fresh air tbh, but I’m sure that would help if I could muster up the energy! I just want to feel better. Maybe the answer is just more time and I need to be more patient :) but I was curious if there’s anything other people have found helpful.

2024.05.29 07:10 avidised My cautionary birth control tale - weight gain & MORE

Long post ahead but I’ve been researching for months now and I’ve found SO many women battling with the same post quitting their birth control. Here’s my story. I AM NOT a medical professional but my SIL is - and has given me life saving context to what I’ve been going through.
Backstory: I went on birth control about a year ago, together with spironolactone for acne. Yaz and 100mg of spiro. My skin went through a rollercoaster and was the clearest it had ever been. I also lost a bunch of weight (which is a well documented effect of both, YAZ & Spiro). Fast forward a year and I got married and had a work trip come up to Japan. Here’s where it got crazy.
I was already cutting down on my spiro for months now - down to 50mg a day (2 tablets) with zero side effects. Now I was expecting to lose some weight in Japan bc of my diet (vegetarian without egg). I head to Japan, take my pill & spiro daily. Not too much food but im hitting my calories AND im doing a good 20k steps (up to 30k on some days) daily. For 15 whole days. I swear I thought I was coming back lighter. I come back home, quit birth control and head to the gym and have the shock of my life. From 53 kg I was up to 56.9kg in 15+ days. Wtf.
I buck up and start gyming 3/4 times a week. Focus on protein, calorie counting, steps. The whole nine yards. 2 weeks later Im up to 59 kg with absolutely ZERO change in muscle. FML. I start inositol, vitamins, potassium rich foods waiting for some damn results. Im getting bulkier and somehow puffier. WELL SH*T.
Finally, one full month later I do blood work - my cholesterol which has always been normal (with high good cholesterol) is out of whack. My bad cholesterol is UP! I check my thyroid? She’s fine. Insulin is stellar (4.6 POST MEAL? Maybe im hypo but thay doesn’t explain anything). Everything else is simply perfect. How the f*ck did I gain 6+ kilos and pump up my cholesterol with all that exercise, clean eating, calorie counting AND on a damn vegetarian diet?
Simply put by my doctor SIL. Birth control. Withdrawals to be precise.
So I played the waiting and weighing game. Threw away my fitness pal. And just trusted my body with clean eating and inositol. My period rolls around and voila. Im down to 56. Dropping pounds daily. Turns out estrogen loves fat. Loves it enough to have completely changed my body shape while getting off. Seriously my hips went up almost 4 inches and are suddenly going back to normal now. I also had moon face, terrible gas and bloating, highly irritable. Basically nightmare body and mind.
Maybe this isn’t everyone’s experience but if someone else is out there frantically looking to understand if quitting birth control causes weight gain and all this other slurry of shit. YES it does. Youre not alone. Be patient.
What worked for me: • cutting the stress (it fucks w your hormones and holds fat) (i.e. stop calorie counting and obsessing) • inositol, b vitamins and probiotics (your body is depleted of them post hormones) • WAIT for that damn first period. It does wonders.

My allowed intake is around 1900 calories but my average as of now is between 2000-2100 over the period (a 500-700 calorie deficit per day) which is getting me right no about 0.8-0.9 KG a week.
From 7th of March to 18th of March I didnt record calories properly but did weigh myself daily
Important things ive learnt along the way: (some thanks to this sub!!)
Daily Method (didnt follow it every day but tried to)

Heres how my auto summary calculations were working in my excel file: https://imgur.com/6xK8Zbu
Heres below how much my calories intake was per day and how my weight loss progressed: (heres image version; https://imgur.com/Ax4ABIH) . I did cut out first 2 weeks as I was only calculating weight loss rather than calories and most of it was water weight.

You can see a lot of days here where calorie intake didn't go according to my allowed budget but over the rolling 7 day period most of the time it was in a pretty decent deficit.
Plan is to continue on till I get to a minimum of 80KG

2024.05.29 06:58 ZazyzzyO Does increased in fatty stool mean something serious?

So I never thought I asked a question about this lol. So random. But, the AskDoc sub hasn't ever given me an answer.
26F/110lbs. just taking supplements like Salmon Oil, Vitamin D3, and Vitamin B complex. So back in March I had strep like infection( tested negative for it) but she gave me antibiotics for it. In January/February I didn't eat my normal diet. Got sic in March and then after I got better following week I was so happy I can swallow food normally again I ate "bad" again. Then, I took the vitamin panel 2 weeks later and B's were on the low side of the healthy range. So, she said go in for a stool test for fats to see if you have a malabsorption issue. yay. fun times.
April- went keto. Did modified version equal amounts of fats/protein.Don't think I'm eating over 70G of fats a day. But, mainly healthy fats of course! Well, went in last week finally for stool test and it said Normal Neutral Fats and Increased Total. So I gotta go see a gastro doctor now.
They didn't tell me what to eat before the test either. And, the night before I ate out( which I hadn't done in a while) and had crab cakes/fries and cheesecake. I feel that's full of fats.
I don't have constipation or any of the symptoms I read for the like 11 issues associated with fatty stools. Plus, they look normal and healthy? I go with ease.
I will be seeing a nutritionist and gastro doctor later in June but I like to overworry about things in advance of course lol. The only thing I can think of is that I am not eating enough fiber, or I am eating to many healthy fats? Or, actually eating below my caloric intake. ( ive been busy so it's been hard to eat above 1300 a day. I'm not doing it on purpose)
Anyone had this before?

2024.05.29 06:56 killedurfaceson Been struggling lately with regular food intake.

I was born with a not so correct heart that beats irregularly. That coupled with an ED isn't the best combination, especially lately. I've been struggling a lot with food intake due to recent trauma and the family drama that ensued because of it. I've eaten a full meal a total of 9 times since March 15th (when it happened) and just ate one yesterday. Of course the act of eating the amount I'm supposed to made my heart act up. It was only one meal, and it was a salad and some pasta. Any ideas on some alternatives that still have a good amount of taurine and vitamin b but aren't so heavy? Being the end of spring in California definitely doesn't help (๑•﹏•)⋆* ⁑⋆* I can never eat a lot during fire season without getting nauseous ( )

2024.05.29 06:43 Interesting-Art4362 Unlock the Secrets to Radiant Skin: Your Ultimate Guide to Skin Health

Unlock the Secrets to Radiant Skin: Your Ultimate Guide to Skin Health
In the quest for glowing, healthy skin, many of us find ourselves bombarded with an overwhelming array of products and advice. But achieving beautiful skin doesn't have to be complicated. By understanding the fundamentals of skin health and adopting a few key practices, you can transform your skin into a radiant, confident glow. Here's your ultimate guide to unlocking the secrets of radiant skin.
Nourish from Within
Your skin is a reflection of your overall health. A balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants can work wonders. Incorporate foods like leafy greens, berries, nuts, and fish high in omega-3 fatty acids. These nutrients help combat inflammation, reduce the signs of aging, and promote a healthy complexion.
Hydration is Key
Water is your skin's best friend. Staying hydrated keeps your skin supple, reduces dryness, and helps flush out toxins. Aim for at least eight glasses of water a day. Complement your water intake with hydrating foods like cucumbers, watermelon, and oranges for an extra boost.
The Power of a Good Routine
Consistency is crucial in skincare. Establish a routine that includes cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. Choose products that suit your skin type—whether it's oily, dry, or combination. Incorporate a gentle exfoliant once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and reveal a fresh, vibrant layer of skin.
Protect and Preserve
One of the most critical steps in skin care is protection from the sun. UV rays can cause premature aging, sunburn, and increase the risk of skin cancer. Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30, even on cloudy days. Don't forget to reapply every two hours when outdoors.
The Magic of Sleep
Never underestimate the power of a good night's sleep. During rest, your body repairs and regenerates skin cells. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night to wake up with refreshed, glowing skin. Develop a bedtime routine that includes winding down and avoiding screens an hour before sleep to ensure you get the rest you need.
Stress Less, Glow More
Stress can wreak havoc on your skin, causing breakouts and dullness. Incorporate stress-relieving activities into your daily routine. Whether it's yoga, meditation, or a simple walk in nature, find what helps you unwind and make it a priority.
Natural Remedies and Treatments
Explore the benefits of natural skincare ingredients like aloe vera, honey, and tea tree oil. These have soothing, anti-inflammatory properties that can enhance your skin's health. Additionally, consider professional treatments like facials, chemical peels, or laser therapy for more targeted skin concerns.
Listen to Your Skin
Pay attention to how your skin responds to different products and environments. Everyone's skin is unique, and what works for one person might not work for another. If you experience persistent issues, consult a dermatologist to tailor a skincare plan specific to your needs.
Embrace Your Natural Beauty
Healthy skin is not about perfection but about feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin. Embrace your natural beauty and the unique features that make you who you are. Confidence and self-love are the final touches to truly radiant skin.
By following these essential tips and adopting a holistic approach to skin health, you can achieve the radiant, healthy complexion you've always desired. Remember, beautiful skin is a journey, not a destination. Enjoy the process and glow with confidence!

2024.05.29 06:22 ElectricSharpener1 Extremely confused - help

I’m so extremely confused and exhausted. I’m 23 F, had a blood test done a good 2 months ago trying to investigate why my hair has been falling out daily for the past 5 months now.
I initially assumed it was because i had recently gotten off Isotretinoin (Accutane) after being on it for 13 months. However my bloods came back with a slightly high testosterone level of 2.1 nnmol/L. Had low iron and vitamin D as well. Gotten an iron infusion done and started vitamin d3 supplements, and since then my iron levels have improved significantly as well as my vitamin D (as much as one can in 2 months). My testosterone levels have dropped by half now to 1.3? Now a GP i saw just took a quick look at my testo levels and straight said its PCOS, however my endo (whom i work with) said my hormones are all perfectly normal (no insulin resistance).
I wonder if I should just get an US done and whether or not anyone else has been in the same boat - hair loss but normal bloods? 😅

2024.05.29 06:14 Interesting-Art4362 Achieving Healthy Nails and Skin: Your Ultimate Guide

Taking care of your nails and skin isn't just about looking good—it's also about feeling great and staying healthy. Your skin, being the largest organ in your body, and your nails, though small, play vital roles in protecting you. Here's how to keep them in top shape.
Eat a Balanced Diet
Your skin reflects what you eat. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds provides the vitamins and antioxidants your skin needs to glow. Foods high in vitamins A, C, and E, as well as zinc and omega-3 fatty acids, are particularly beneficial.
Protect Yourself from the Sun
Always use sunscreen with at least SPF 30, even on cloudy days. Sun exposure can cause premature aging, sunburn, and increase the risk of skin cancer. Make it a habit to protect your skin whenever you step outside.
Cleanse Regularly
Daily cleansing removes dirt, oil, and dead skin cells. Choose a gentle cleanser that matches your skin type to avoid stripping your skin of its natural oils.
Moisturize Daily
Moisturizing helps keep your skin hydrated and creates a barrier against environmental damage. Look for a moisturizer that suits your skin type and use it daily.
Say No to Smoking
Smoking accelerates skin aging and can cause wrinkles. It narrows the tiny blood vessels in the skin's outer layers, reducing blood flow and making your skin paler and more prone to damage.
Nail Care Essentials
Keep Nails Clean and Dry
Clean and dry nails are less likely to get infected. Regular cleaning helps prevent bacterial and fungal growth.
Trim Your Nails Regularly
Keep your nails trimmed to prevent problems like hangnails and tears. Use sharp manicure scissors or clippers, cut straight across, and round the tips slightly.
Moisturize Your Nails
Just like your skin, your nails need moisture. Use a good hand cream or nail oil to keep your nails and cuticles hydrated.
Avoid Biting Your Nails
Nail-biting can harm your nail bed and lead to infections. If you struggle with this habit, try using a bitter-tasting nail polish to discourage it.
Choose Gentle Nail Products
Harsh nail products can damage your nails. Opt for acetone-free polish removers and gentle nail polishes to keep your nails healthy.
Practice Good Hygiene
Cutting your cuticles can lead to infections, so it's better to gently push them back after a shower when they're soft.
Common Issues and Their Solutions
Dry Skin and Nails
Dryness can result from environmental factors, frequent washing, or lack of moisture. Use a humidifier at home, limit your bath time, and always apply moisturizer after washing.
Acne and Blemishes
Use non-comedogenic skincare products and keep your face clean to manage acne. Avoid touching your face frequently and consult a dermatologist if acne persists.
Nail Infections
Maintain good hygiene to prevent infections. Avoid sharing nail tools and seek medical advice if you notice redness, swelling, or pus around your nails.
Conclusion
Caring for your nails and skin is about more than just aesthetics—it's about your health. By staying hydrated, eating well, protecting your skin from the sun, and practicing good hygiene, you can achieve and maintain healthy, glowing skin and strong, beautiful nails. Remember, taking care of your skin and nails is an investment in your overall health and well-being.

2024.05.29 05:48 knightgoby Feel like nothing is working

Feel like nothing is working
My hair stylist took this picture a few days ago. I’ve been using topical minoxidil for 3 months and taking olly hair vitamins with vitamin d, folate, b12 and iron for 3 months. I’ve also been using the mielle rosemary shampoo and conditioner for a couple months. I feel like I have no progress. It’s really that spot on the back of my crown that bothers me the most. I was told I have pcos and that losing weight would help, I’ve lost 20% of my body weight like the doc told me to, no improvement to pcos symptoms esp hair loss. I don’t know what else to do. I used to have the thickest hair until about 16 or 17 then it just slowly all fell out. I’m 24 now for context.
