Oriolus MK2 for Sale - $525
I have been lurking for the Oriolus MK2 since they were released and finally purchased these IEMs from the previous owner on head-fi over a year ago. They are in excellent functional and physical condition. I also upgraded to the PW Audio No.5 cables, which were standard with the Oriolus Reborn.
These are among the best-tuned IEMs I have heard, featuring 1 x 10 mm DD and 3 x BA drivers. In my opinion, they still outperform many of the more expensive IEMs on the market.
What's included:
  • Oriolus MK2 IEMs
  • PW Audio Anniversary Series Number 5 cables with 4.4 mm connector
  • Aluminum earphone case
  • Cable clips, ear tip cleaner, and various tips (6 pairs)
  • Original box
Shipping to the CONUS and Paypal fee included in the asking price. Please comment below before messaging. I am not looking for trade at this time.

2024.06.09 19:16 Twistytee [wts] Tarptent Double Rainbow (42oz)

Selling my Tarptent Double Rainbow that I bought from original owner. This is the pre-redesign version with the sewn carbon strut. It is a semi-free standing tent with integrated fly and floor that requires four corners to be staked or trekking poles to be used at the base for free standing mode. Comes with Easton aluminum arch pole and sewn carbon strut. Also comes with the optional silk condensation liner, pole pockets (for free-standing mode) and 6 Easton aluminum tent pegs.
The tent is made from 30d silnylon and is in good condition with no flaws/holes in the nylon body, floor or mesh. I did add a gear aid patch to one of the floor tie-out points to protect the threads (see photos). The PO also appears to have briefly stored it damp during a trip as there is some light spotting on the yellow pole sleeve (see photos). This has faded with use and when I air it in the sun after trips. No odors and it's stored in a climate controlled gear room between outings.
Tent has been used with a polycro ground sheet and includes the original stuff sack and nylon stake bag. I do have a lab that's been in the tent so don't purchase if allergic to stray dog hairs. I vacuumed and wiped down the tent to prep for sale.
Asking $140 and I will split shipping with buyer based on zip (contact me for quote).
Please comment below before reaching out by DM. Happy to answer any questions.

2024.06.09 17:01 FlyNSail22 New SUV while in Flight Training

I currently have a 2019 Sonata that has been having signs of the engine going out. I am out of warranty as I bought it used, looking to get out of it before something goes wrong (currently burning oil and low gas mileage).
I’m heading to AF flight school this fall. I’m eligible for military discounts but seems to be around $500 for most makes.
I’m looking to get an SUV preferably with some sort of tow rating, however I’m mainly going to use the hitch for bikes and possibly a kayak/small sailboat so I really only need 1500, but more is always better.
I prefer better gas mileage and lots of technology features. Hopefully something around 2021 or newer. Off-road capability is always a plus, but I also don’t do anything too crazy (Midwest camping).
I have done a decent amount of research and have friends in the car sales industry, but wanted some Reddit advice as well.
Seems like if I buy new, most SUVs with mid to high trims are around $35-40k for standard compact (RAV4, CRV, CX5, etc) and if I buy a used vehicle of equivalent models there really isn’t much of any depreciation.
This has led me to look into used luxury SUVs that have taken $20k depreciation hits, however I do not know much about them. Think 2021-2023 Audi MDX, BMW X5, etc that still are in the $35-40k ballpark with about 40k miles.
If you were looking for a car would you get a new standard SUV or a used luxury? What would you be looking for?
Hoping to have some solid ideas before the end of the month so I can hopefully take advantage of last minute end of quarter deals.

2024.06.09 10:08 SaltDebt8904 Challenges with SAP DM in MES Implementations

Hello everyone,
I have been working as an SAP MII/ME consultant for approximately 8 years, and I am one of the best consultants in my country. I have had the opportunity to work on many projects and have also worked with SAP PP/PM/QM modules. Major SAP Partner firm has become an investor in my company. We are working on SAP PP/QM and MII/ME projects.
However, I have concerns about the new product, DM, specifically in the context of MES implementations.
  1. Ease of Development:
• We could easily develop on MII/ME, and there is a great need for development in the MES area. On MII, we have worked on ASRS systems, custom IDOCs, custom RFCs, and many applications.
• We even developed our own configurable MII product that works on MII. With this product, we achieved fast, integrated, dynamic, and adaptable MES implementations. Just as we were starting to make a profit and began applying our product to many customers, SAP announced that they would end support in 2027. As a result, we can no longer make new sales. We continue to support our existing customers.
  1. Concerns with DM:
• I am concerned about the future of DM. Cloud MES and public cloud MES do not seem to attract customers. I am even hesitant myself. Development is very difficult.
• One of our customers is engaged in aluminum extrusion production. They produce for 7-8 different customer orders from a single mold simultaneously. In this setup, we guide the operator with very simple custom interfaces. However, doing this in DM is nearly impossible. Moreover, since the production is customer-specific, there are many customer order characteristics on the screens. But in DM, all I see are work orders, operations, etc. It is impossible to make this product work for our clients.
  1. Additional Expertise:
• Unlike many other MES consultants, I have extensive ERP experience. I understand how planning should be, the impact of MES, raw material and semi-finished product consumption, and filling out product characteristics. For SAP-using customers, I know exactly what other modules require. I can design systems to help them calculate production costs, manage inventory efficiently, and close monthly accounts smoothly.
• However, I am unsure how to leverage this experience in the new landscape. Would my expertise be valuable in non-SAP MES solutions? Should I transition to those areas? I am particularly considering developing a MES solution integrated with Ignition. What do you think?
So, what do you think? Are there any MII/ME consultants among us? Where should we invest? I am hesitant to invest and learn. The product will inevitably sell, but I am not sure it will be successful. I am considering turning towards custom MES solutions. Solutions like writing MES integrated with Ignition come to mind. I have even considered leaving this sector entirely and focusing on PP/QM/PPDS. Am I being too pessimistic? What are your thoughts?

How to Use a Radiator Neck for Maximum Efficiency

The radiator is a soft part and should be handled very carefully and in a way that it does not spoil the product. Holding or Lifting the radiator by the Filler Neck must not be allowed at any cost. The center of the Radiator or caps should be examined thoroughly and visually for any pollutants or dust particles that can physically affect the activity of the radiator filler neck or caps. In some cases, one can clean the center point by using a compressed air blast.
The whole procedure of cleaning the radiator filler neck has a garden hose with a good quality jet on the end and on the inside views of the radiator hose at the center to clean away the insects from the front of the radiator. Warning — one should not use water pressure pointing directly at an angle, and prevent using a pressure washer as both will easily bend the fins over. The radiator can the be washed with clean water both inside and outside. The use of a compressed radiator can then be dried and air can be used to remove any remaining sediment.
Ideally, radiator filler necks are the front tip of vehicle fuel entry. It helps in allowing the fuel to get below the pump nozzle to the fuel tank. Some of the properties of radiator filler neck are:
  • Its dual-coating makes corrosion protection strong
  • It uses a particular conductive paint that removes static charge
  • it has a ground wire for more precaution
  • Some improved capless design models are also available
  • These are specially designed to meet the manufacturer’s needs
  • Lifecycle, fuel soak, and temperature are exhaustively tested to ensure good performance
Caps Necks provides radiator filler necks in different models, specifications, and features. for quite a long time It has been the leading supplier in the USA. The company has a wide variety of Radiator filler necks in Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Brass. The filler caps offered by them fit a variety of necks. You can also buy hydraulic gasket tapes, reservoir tanks, and utility tanks.

Record collecting trip of a lifetime
Went to a retired estate sale organizers house. She has hundreds of 78s of every genre. I’m primarily interested in old time and country but got some other interesting and rare things. We Found a Charlie Poole record in the wild along with a lot of Riley Puckett, Carter family, Jimmie Rodger’s, and some weird ones like the Carolina nighthawks and the West Virginia coon hunters (terrible name, rare record) also get some Edison red stars and some little wonders along with an aluminum disc. I haven’t sorted everything i got yet. Paid her 200 for just over 100 records. Contemplating going back in case i missed something

Optional mechanical rheostat to adjust pin brightness and compatibility with Blue Burst light and Lens Kit are added benefits that contribute to the overall versatility of the sight. Archers will appreciate the lightweight construction, making it easy to carry and use during hunting sessions.
A unique feature of this sight is the optional mechanical rheostat that allows the user to adjust the pin brightness, ensuring better visibility in low light conditions. This sight is compatible with Blue Burst light and Lens Kit as well, enhancing its capabilities even further. I recently got my hands on the Olympus EE-1 Red Dot Sight with Crosshair Reticle, and I must say, it has been a game-changer for my photography adventures. The EE-1 has made tracking fast-moving subjects much easier, especially during bird photography.
One of the standout features was the Center Aiming Dot. It was incredibly useful in capturing my subjects at the right angle, without losing sight of them. The ability to adjust the brightness and position of the dot was a bonus, as it allowed me to customize the settings according to my shooting environment.
The EE-1 is designed to mount onto a camera's hot shoe, which ensures a snug and secure fit. Plus, its dustproof and splash-proof design has kept it safe from the elements during my outdoor shoots.
However, there were a few cons that I experienced while using this product. The adjustment wheels for the brightness and position of the dot are slightly vulnerable to movement during shooting, which could lead to maladjustment. Another issue I faced was the difficulty in turning off the LED when the sight is collapsed for storage, as it can consume battery power.
Overall, the Olympus EE-1 Red Dot Sight with Crosshair Reticle has been a valuable addition to my photography kit. Its innovative features have greatly improved my ability to capture moving subjects, despite the few minor flaws.

🔗Redline Dovetail Sleeper Sight with 2 Pin Red Dot Sight for Canik

I've been using the Redline RL-Torch Dovetail Sight for a few weeks now and I must say, it's been an absolute game-changer in my hunting expeditions. The two-pin design with all green illumination has significantly improved my accuracy, especially when shooting at different distances.
One feature that really stood out for me is the internal rechargeable light. Not only does it save me from buying and replacing batteries all the time, but it also reduces the weight of the sight, making it much easier to handle on long hunts. I also appreciate how customizable the adjustments are - from the different pin sizes to the micro-adjustable knobs.
However, there are a few minor drawbacks. The dial can be quite stiff and noisy at times, which can be slightly distracting during intensive hunting activities. Additionally, the durability of the sight is a bit questionable compared to other models I've used in the past. Lastly, not having a manual was quite inconvenient, especially when I had to figure out the setup and adjustments by myself.
But overall, I'd give this sight a solid 4.5 stars for its performance and features. If you're looking for an affordable yet reliable sight that delivers excellent accuracy, the Redline RL-Torch Dovetail Sight is worth considering.

🔗Explore Scientific ReflexSight: Compact, Versatile Red Dot Sight for Enhanced Stargazing

https://preview.redd.it/iqfvaroqvg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5bec590c9f8f1283948bdaa38f87b02328096e00
Ever since I started using the Explore Scientific ReflexSight, I've been eagerly waiting for my moments of stargazing. The multi-dot reticle design in standard circular patterns has made it easier for me to gaze at the star-filled sky without any blockage. I've also noticed its compatibility with a wide range of devices, all thanks to its 1/4 x 20 threaded adapter.
Despite some minor difficulties like the snug fit in the mount and the slightly challenging parallax adjustment, the smooth body style and accessible battery compartment have made up for it. The adjustable brightness control knob is a favorite of mine, allowing me to adjust visibility even when wearing gloves.
However, one feature that bugged me was the bulky light shield/cover. It sometimes slides over the lens when the telescope is pointed upwards. I hope the designers take this into account for future models.
Nevertheless, the Explore Scientific ReflexSight has enhanced my experience while star-hopping, and its versatility in fitting onto almost any telescope without modification has made it an essential addition to my stargazing journey.

🔗Compact and Versatile Telrad Reflex Sight with Mounting Base

https://preview.redd.it/5uvhbpisvg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c5c90c331cf3205ecccaea3e71a93c07513737be
The Telrad Reflex Sight is a must-have accessory for stargazers and telescope enthusiasts. As someone who has been using it for a while, I can confidently say that it's a game-changer when it comes to finding celestial objects in the sky. One of the standout features for me is its deep red concentric circles, which make it easy to locate targets even in the darkest of nights.
Another aspect I truly appreciated is the mounting base, which securely attaches the sight to telescopes of all sizes. The on/off switch and the continuously adjustable brightness control are also incredibly convenient, ensuring that the sight is always set to the perfect brightness for observation.
However, one drawback I encountered is that the Telrad Reflex Sight can be quite heavy, making it challenging to carry around on outdoor adventures. Also, the mounting base could be more versatile, as it only works with a specific type of telescope.
Despite these minor issues, the Telrad Reflex Sight is a powerful tool for anyone looking to enhance their telescope experience. Its compact design, user-friendly features, and reliability make it worth considering for any stargazing enthusiast.

🔗Pro Series Sight Black 1-Pin .019 Iron Sight Adjustable for Right and Left Hand Use

I recently had the opportunity to use the Pro Single-Pin Slider Direct-Mount Sight Black 1-Pin 0.19, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. The sight's single 0.19 inch vertical pin and 1.8 inch aperture provide a clear and clean sight picture, which became particularly valuable when taking longer shots in open country.
One of the most impressive features was the integrated glow ring and the REVOLVE rotary sight light, ensuring low-light conditions never posed an issue. Additionally, the sight's dual yardage pointers, end-of-travel elevation stops, and fixed bracket with 3 potential mounting positions allowed for seamless adjustments even while moving.
I also appreciated the sight's ease of use and convenience, such as the second- and third-axis aperture adjustments and the left- and right-handed configuration options. Moreover, with 120 pre-marked sight tapes included, I felt that I had a solid setup for lethal, accurate shots throughout the season.
While I enjoyed the sight's features, there was one downside: the direct-drive elevation wheel's one-handed operation wasn't entirely smooth and silent as advertised, making it slightly challenging to use on the move. Nevertheless, the Pro Single-Pin Slider Direct-Mount Sight Black 1-Pin 0.19 has undeniably made a difference in my archery experience.

🔗Redline RL-2 5 Pin Dovetail Sight for Hunting Enthusiasts

As someone who's used the Redline RL-2 5 Pin Dovetail Sight, I can say it sure does pack a punch for its price. The sight is sturdy as all get-out, and it's got some great features that make it easy to adjust even in the depths of night.
One thing that stood out to me, though, was the fiber optic pins. They're bright, which is fantastic for target practice. However, I noticed a slight hiccup - the wheel adjustment dial came loose one weekend during practice. It was an easy fix, but it left me wondering if I'd run into the same issue again.
The overall construction of the sight is lovely - the CNC'd aluminum dovetail and housing feel solid in my hands. The sight tapes provided are a great touch, giving me fine-grained control over the sight. I've heard some complaints about missing parts, but my sight arrived complete and in perfect condition.
Despite the minor issues, I'd highly recommend the RL-2 Dovetail Sight to anyone looking for a reliable sight that won't break the bank. It's been a great addition to my hunting gear, and I can't wait to test it out on my next hunt.

🔗X-Vision Optics Flex 2 Thermal Reflex Sight: Advanced Hunting Sight with IP67 Weather Protection

I recently got my hands on the X-Vision Optics Flex 2 Thermal Reflex Sight, and let me tell you, I was incredibly impressed by its performance. This sleek and compact sight packs a punch, with its detection range of up to 1700 yards and crystal clear images on its 2.56" AMOLED display. I was particularly impressed with the 1x-4x magnification, which makes it a versatile option for different shooting scenarios.
However, I must admit, I had a bit of trouble with the quick-release Picatinny mount at first, but after getting the hang of it, it became a breeze. The sight also features an impressive 55-foot field of view at 100 yards and a detection range of 750 yards.
The Flex 2 is also weatherproof, with an IP67 rating, so it can handle any terrain or weather conditions you throw at it. Plus, with a battery life of 5 hours, you won't have to worry about it dying in the middle of your hunt. Overall, the X-Vision Optics Flex 2 Thermal Reflex Sight is a top-notch choice for anyone in the market for a reliable thermal sight.

🔗High Magnification Spotting Scope with Rangefinder

https://preview.redd.it/7e9o4s1vvg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0df6a73236a5a58629ff1571733cf2d4afb4b07b
I couldn't wait to test out the Firefield 12-36x50 Straight Edge Spotting Optics Kit. With its sleek design and impressive specifications, I was eager to see if it could live up to the hype. Upon opening the package, I was immediately drawn to the scope's rubber-armored body, fully multi-coated lenses, and waterproof features.
Once I had everything set up and ready to go, I aimed for a distant tree, and boy, was I impressed by the crystal-clear view. The zoom feature was a game-changer, allowing me to hone in on any target with ease. I loved that I could quickly switch back and forth between magnifications for a more comprehensive view.
However, the tripod that came with the kit left a bit to be desired. It felt somewhat flimsy and wouldn't be my first choice for an important shooting task. I can't really blame the scope itself for this, but it's worth mentioning.
On the whole, the Firefield 12-36x50 Straight Edge Spotting Optics Kit was a solid performer. While it may not have been the most advanced scope I've ever used, it certainly did the job for a reasonable price. Plus, the included carrying case made transporting it easy and hassle-free.

🔗Telrad Pulser Unit: Upgrade Your Reflex Sight with Pulsating Reticle Control

https://preview.redd.it/tl8zam7wvg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5d033e86c8775b9e2b1fff5d701831da80a51f4
The Telrad Pulser Unit really livened up my reflex sight, with its pulsating illuminated reticle standing out during nighttime stargazing. The straightforward installation, despite a fiddly fit, was a breeze thanks to the clear instructions. Pairing this with the Telrad's existing brightness control, I could make faint stars more visible.
However, I did encounter some minor fitting issues, but the final outcome was worth it.

🔗Telrad Reflex Sight Riser Base 2" for Better Comfort and Separation

https://preview.redd.it/txmlmojwvg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a8ebcdc7cfb0248a01a6b4af024895e68442904
I recently gave the Reflex Sight Riser Base a try, and I must say it was a game-changer. With its 2-inch height addition, it made the Telrad sight much more comfortable to use and even improved my overall experience. The craftsmanship of this mounting bracket was impeccable, and I couldn't be happier with the level of quality.
However, there was one small issue I faced. The base caused some difficulty when securing it to the optical tube assembly. It required a bit of fiddling to get it in place, but once it was set, it held strong. So, while it was slightly inconvenient to install, I still found it to be a worthwhile investment for the benefits it brought to the table.

🔗Telrad Reflex Sight Riser Base for Increased Comfort & Height

https://preview.redd.it/vxc4ehxwvg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6257a7732ee7a3914e44853fbe209976d20f14a
Imagine you've been using this Telrad Reflex Sight Riser Base for a while now, and it's time to pen down your experience. Firstly, it's worth mentioning that this riser base has been a lifesaver when it comes to aligning my telescope. Before using it, I had to crouch low and sight along the tube, which was quite uncomfortable and strained my neck.
One of the things I appreciated most about this product is the additional height it provides. By lifting the Telrad off the main telescope tube by several inches, I found it much easier to use, and my back and neck weren't taking the brunt of it. While there's still some crouching involved, it's definitely more comfortable and ergonomic.
However, I do have a minor critique - the screws can come all the way out. When I'm operating in the dark, fiddling with the attachment or removal of the Telrad and the riser base, I could easily lose a screw. I hope that future versions of this product will come with captive screws that can't be removed completely.
Despite this minor setback, overall, the Telrad Reflex Sight Riser Base has been a game-changer for my stargazing adventures. It's made my observations more comfortable and efficient, all while saving me a bit of soreness in my neck and back.

🔗Firefield FF11018K Premium 20-60x60SE Spotting Scope Kit for Precise Long-Distance Targeting

https://preview.redd.it/l7fnbo8xvg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a3d6cd92e34293bee3aa09a6923e138204147c6
I recently had the chance to give the Firefield spotting scope kit a try, and I must say, it lived up to my expectations. As a sports enthusiast, I appreciate versatility and reliability, especially when it comes down to long-distance targets, which is why I chose this particular product.
What stood out for me in my experience was the wide magnification range provided by the system, ranging from 20-60x magnification. This allowed me to take a closer look at my target without sacrificing clarity, even at longer distances. It was perfect for my tactical target shooting and long-distance game tracking.
The nitrogen-purged and rubber-armored design was also a fantastic aspect of this kit. It not only provided weather protection but also added durability to the product. The scope was perfectly at ease in rainy conditions and was equally at home during sunny days.
While the product itself worked great, there were a couple of issues I faced that slowed me down a bit. The rubber eyepiece, while comfortable, took some time to get accustomed to, especially at the higher end of the magnification range. Additionally, I had trouble focusing at higher zoom levels, but once I figured out the technique, everything was clear.
Overall, my experience with the Firefield spotting scope kit has been positive. It helped me hone in on targets with accuracy and precision. While there may be room for improvement, this kit has proven to be a reliable and versatile choice for those seeking to enhance their long-distance capabilities.

🔗Firefield 10x50 Siege Monocular: Compact and Portable Spotting Scope

Using the Firefield 10x50 Siege Monocular has been a game-changer for my outdoor adventures. The magnification and objective lens diameter combination allow for an ultra-wide 70° apparent angle of view, making it perfect for spotting birds high up in the sky or wildlife in the distance. The fully multi-coated optics and BAK4 roof prisms deliver bright and clear images, even in challenging light conditions.
The lightweight and durable plastic housing is wrapped in a protective black rubber armor, making it easy to grip and handle in any weather. The monocular is also waterproof up to an IP67 rating and nitrogen-filled, ensuring it won't fog up even when it's freezing cold or extremely hot outside.
One of the best parts about this monocular is its 1/4"-20 tripod mount, making it incredibly easy to use as a spotting scope in the field, at the range, or in a blind. It's also perfect for taking pictures of birds and wildlife, thanks to its compact size and lightweight design.
Overall, I highly recommend the Firefield 10x50 Siege Monocular for anyone looking for a versatile and reliable optic device for their outdoor adventures.

2024.06.09 00:53 Vissuto OR Travel Nurse EDC

OR Travel Nurse EDC
I'm an OR nurse but I have also worked as an ER nurse over the years. I wear a little leather fanny pack which contains a few tools which I consider essential to my daily tasks. Most of these seem to be leaning towards "buy it for life". I recently discovered this wonderfully valuable sub so I thought I'd share the items that are really valuable to me as an 8 year travel nurse.
Portland Leather Zip Tight Belt Bag - I bought this last Fall for around $50 on sale. Made in Mexico but surprisingly well made from quality materials and it is really holding up. It would fit just about anyone. It holds up my scrub pants. It is super comfortable and just the right size.
Leatherman Raptor Shears - I bought these in 2013 for $95. They now make a sleeker cheaper version which I haven't tried. I love these. They have literally saved lives. They have built in ring cutters, a glass breaker, an O2 tank wrench, etc. They cut through literally anything. I use them no less than a dozen times per day. They come with a holster but I just fold mine and keep them in my fanny pack. These have even been through the autoclave several times. I could not do what I do without them. Surgeons, nurses, etc. are constantly trying to steal them and then they end up buying a pair of their own.
Streamlight 66608 MicroStream 250-Lumen EDC Ultra-Compact Flashlight with USB Rechargeable Battery - $30ish. This little gem holds a charge for sooooo long. Sometimes during surgeries when lights are off and I need to be able to shine a light on the back table this little light saves the day. Yesterday we had a lost needle and I shined it on the floor and the needle lit up right away. It is so useful and reliable and does not require me to be constantly changing the batteries. I've carried this daily for 3 years with zero issues and probably only 6 recharges.
Gerber Dime Multi-tool - $25 This tool has served me well. I use it to make on-the-fly repairs to operating room equipment almost daily. Loose handles, drifting monitors, the blade is useful for cutting through packages of implants, etc. it just has proven to be so extremely useful. As you can see, the paint wear shows how much love it gets.
Cheap aluminum and brass pill boxes off of Amazon - one holds ibuprofen and the other one holds tylenol. They stay closed with no issue. Watertight.
The nail file pictured is available on Amazon and is sold under the brand name "Mr. Green" for around $6. I have owned this one for around 3 years. It is the highest quality and most functionally superior file I have ever encountered. I use it for all kinds of things. Not just nails. I have used it as a tool to level things that have manufacturing flaws. To remove burrs from wood and plastic, etc. It is extremely well made. I have one in my car, another in my backpack and one at home. I keep one in my camping gear for filing magnesium shavings for firestarter.
Uni Jetstream Edge pen in 0.25mm point. - $8 This is the perfect pen for an OR nurse. The tip is tiny and the ink is oil based and fast drying making it perfect for tiny writing on pathology labels without the issue of smearing. The body is metal and the clip spring is tight so when you clip it on your scrub collar, it stays and will not fall off at the most inconvenient time (such as into the sterile field or onto the sterile prep, or into the trash when you're tearing down the drapes with dirty gloves on). It is refillable. You can buy 5 packs of refills.
uni Jetstream 4&1 Metal Edition, 0.5mm Ballpoint Pen (Black, Red, Blue, Green) and 0.5mm Mechanical Pencil - $13.50
Durable, reliable, Refillable. Everything you need.
Zebra Pen PM-701 Permanent Marker, Stainless Steel Barrel, Fine Bullet Tip, Black Ink, Refillable, - $7 to $10
Durable, Reliable, Refillable.
Lochby Pocket Journal, Waterproof Waxed Canvas, Zip-Around - $35 - As a travel nurse, everywhere I go, I quickly have to absorb mass amounts of new information, names of co-workers, surgeons, surgeon preferences, glove sizes, machin3 settings, orders of operations, etc. So it's important to keep a little notebook where I record some of this information so I can quickly refer to the details when I need them. I have tried many options but this little waterproof zip-around Lochby canvas notebook cover is the best one I have found. It is compact, sturdy and everything I need it to be. It has little pockets inside where I can store some labels and note cards and a small notebook that I can change out each time I go to a new assignment. The outside has handy slots for my 4 in one uni jetstream pen and my zebra refillable permanent marker.

2024.06.08 22:58 TripleCherryB Looking for mounting / racking solutions

Looking for mounting / racking solutions
I'm currently working as a rooftop solar installer and looking for recommendations for mounting solutions available to consumers. We use EcoFasten Click Fit Smart Feet with click fit aluminum rail and I believe it's a great system but I can't find it for sale to the general public.
Is there a similar mounting solution available to the public? Or does anyone know where to find Eco Fasten Click Fit Smart Feet and Click Fit aluminum rail for sale?
Thank you!

2024.06.08 22:37 pixelsinner I screwed up, looking for solutions

Yeah so a while ago a set of exterior rated RGBIC strips came on sale (H6173 to be precise) and I bought a box for when our patio railing would be done. Fast forward to now, aluminum railing done and I'm ready to undermount my fancy strips to the handrail, only te realize that you can't splice RGBIC strips... I absolutely have to splice because I can't run the strips around the posts without doing that.
Obviously it's too late for me to return them, and I don't really have any use for it elsewhere so I may have to take the hit.
But before I give up, are there any suggestions on potential solutions? I see some people here cutting theirs successfully, but I didn't see anyone extending or splicing them, and can't seem to find any compatible adapters/connectors on the market.
Any recommendations or tricks? It'd be great if I did t lose out on whatever $200ish I paid for them last year...

2024.06.08 21:58 ginginOZ am skittish to tow - '19/PRO/manual>22"/2400lb sailboat

am skittish to tow - '19/PRO/manual>22
Hello, I need some help.
All my buddies that usually tow for me are not available. Monday I want to go fetch this sailboat for sale that is just about being given away. I don't have experience towing above a u-haul. (am a gal that had manly men do boatly things on my/ our behalf always in past). Been driving a manual transmission exclusively for 40 years though. that part not a concern!
presume the trailer looks something like this picture added (it's exactly that boat model) . waiting on confirm from seller. (it's not near to him to photo) . trailer listed as in excellent condition.
boat length = 22", displacement = 2400lbs, other stuff to add to weight= not much of anything and maybe even would reduce displacement because the interior just about gutted. small outboard could go in bed.
use case = just one drive/haul. about 3.5 hours through ozark hilly terrain that I am intimately familiar with. stretches of no shoulders for long stretches. It will then go into another marina and stay there while I train on it and re-sell it for larger boat. At marina, not concerned about the ramp as I can ask them for help getting her to the slip. Don't intend to ever haul her out. just sell it from there.
truck specs 2019 PRO/manual - (6400 capacity) make this all seem hunky dory. Is it? Can't imagine the trailer has breaks. No one has a clue the weight of the trailer Any deal breakers I should walk away from upon arrival - as in make the deal but leave it there until I find a better hauler? google AI says this about boat trailers "On average, a boat trailer weighs around 600 pounds, but fishing boat trailers can weigh between 200 and 1,100 pounds" < still well under tow capacity.
advice welcome!

2024.06.08 20:36 AerialSpew Custom Color Freewrite Saga

Custom Color Freewrite Saga
TLDR: The ordeal of doing a custom powdercoat finish on a Freewrite Smart Typewriter. And I ask what color I should attempt next.
The Pastel Turquoise Freewrite Story
A few years ago I got the (not-so) bright idea to create a one-of-a-kind custom-color Freewrite and it blew up in my face. Let me go back to the beginning...
In 2014 when Astrohaus introduced what was then called the Hemingwrite on Kickstarter I got wind of it and followed its journey. In 2015 I trekked to the Astrohaus Manhattan office with a friend to see an early production version. I was at the radio station WFMU at the time and had this vague idea of talking the Astrohaus marketing department into giving the station a Freewrite to use as a prize during an upcoming fundraising Marathon. We could put the device in front of a ton of professional writers while getting ourselves a kick-ass prize. We were led to a conference room where the first iteration of the Freewrite awaited us. I tried it out, then my friend. We kept our thoughts to ourselves as the marketing rep talked up the machine.
"It's distraction-free writing. Built for one purpose."
Yes, but will people pay for what appears to be a glorified word processor?
We left the Astrohaus offices and my friend and I expressed our reservations.
"Still, if we could get them to donate one..."
We couldn't. They didn't see the value in accessing WFMU's artistic community.
"Oh well. Good lucking selling your machine!"
All the while I stayed on the Astrohaus mailing list, searched for used Freewrites on EBay, read every online review and watched all the YouTube videos. I wondered if a device guaranteeing distraction-free writing could help with my concentration. When I'm writing on my MacBook or iMac there's always something that gets through: email notifications, texts, breaking news. I never remember to mute notifications or use Airplane Mode. Again and again I go down various rabbit holes, spending ten or fifteen minutes replying to emails (mostly trashing junk emails), responding to texts, checking the news, or wasting time on social media. But I kept putting off the actual purchase of a Freewrite, despite my love of typewriters and memories of my mother's hulking black Royal upon which I learned to type. Then the Hemingwrite came along. Astrohaus revived the original name of the Freewrite but this time it was authorized by the Ernest Hemingway estate. When I saw the first photos of the polished aluminum exterior and green keys I thought "That thing is sweet." But even with the extras–the carrying case, etc.–I couldn't see ponying up the asking price, even for a "limited-edition" of "only" 200 pieces.
"That's what I paid for my Macbook a few years ago."
But the emails from Astrohaus kept coming and I kept opening them. On the cusp of a milestone birthday I decided to indulge and buy a Hemingwrite as a gift to myself... and a future investment.
"I can finally write that book about the Nihilistics..."
The Nihilistics is the New York Hardcore band I founded and named at the end of the '70s. I'd written a few short pieces about the band, centered around my relationship with the bass playelyrics writer Mike (RIP). I referred to him as "...the booster rocket that helped me achieve escape velocity, falling back to earth in the process." One of my short stories about the band got published and I had a boutique publisher interested in the full story.
"I'll write the book on the Hemingwrite!"
When the box with my new distraction-free writing tool arrived (within a day or two of ordering) I moved it around from our porch to the office to our dining room but couldn't bring myself to open it.
"I don't deserve this thing. I can't justify the cost. Is it too late to return it?"
This went on for six weeks.
"If it IS too late to return it maybe I can put it on EBay. I should be able to get my money back. But I sure would like to see it first."
Then I finally freed the Hemingwrite from its box (I thought of doing an unboxing video but didn't). I gingerly cut open the tape on the box and extracted the leather carrying case from its bag. I opened the case and thought "This thing is sexy." It hadn't occurred to me there wouldn't be enough of a charge to use the Hemingwrite out of the box. But I started typing on it anyway, figuring I could charge it overnight and get the full experience in the morning.
"It's like mom's IBM Selectric..."
My mother owned one of the early Selectrics with the swappable type element (I still have on of the elements: the typewriter is long gone, as is the Royal). Typing on the Selectric was a fully tactile experience, just like the Hemingwrite. There's even the same delay between key-strike and "imprint," as I discovered the next morning after a full charge.
"I guess I'm not sending this back. Or selling it on EBay."
Since it arrived and I finally decided to use it, I've been on my Hemingwrite every day, cranking out a weekly newsletter and my book distraction-free. Every once in awhile I admire the bare aluminum case and remind myself I earned this damn thing and plan to keep it and pass it on to some deserving soul many years from now. There are things I'd change–could there be a spellcheck function, for instance? – but those who scoff at this tool haven't spent enough time with one. They don't "get" it. I got it. And I'm glad I did.
Fast forward a bit and Astrohaus decides to sell more "limited-edition" Hemingwrites. I wrote to the company, reminding them what their own Marketing department said about only producing 200 pieces. They responded with a bullshit excuse: this is not the same machine as yours, we've updated the internals. Well, no one bought it for the internals. It felt like a betrayal and I questioned how I could go about creating a custom-color Freewrite of my own and perhaps sell my Hemingwrite to recoup my costs. I managed to buy a stock black Gen. 2 Freewrite for $350 and $25 shipping. Before I could think about disassembling the Freewrite a friend expressed interest in it and I brought the machine to him, where it sat boxed under his couch for almost half a year. He was going through issues with the health of his parents and finally decided not to buy my Freewrite, so I went and retrieved it. Then I revived the idea of putting a custom color on it and selling my Hemingwrite.
There are no online instructions for taking a Freewrite apart, so with great trepidation I brought the Freewrite out to my garage workbench and proceeded as carefully as possible. It's a bit harrowing, thinking you might destroy a machine for which you've paid $$$. But after an hour of stomach-churning, detail-oriented work I got the aluminum shell separated from the innards of the machine and put all the electronic parts safely away in the Freewrite box. Because I didn't fully power down the Freewrite first, a black bar appeared across the E-Ink display and I was convinced I destroyed it. I kept calm and carried on. Next, I did some research online on removing a powder coat finish from aluminum. Initially, I thought the shell could be media-blasted (they don't call it sand-blasting any longer) but you can't media-blast aluminum without potentially dimpling the surface. It's suggested you use a powerful paint stripper and I opted for Jasco (approx. $28) based on discussions in a powder-coat forum. The Jasco stripper is nasty stuff and the only way to use it safely is outdoors while wearing heavy disposable gloves, eye protection and a respirator. I took the Freewrite to my backyard, put it on a folding aluminum table and began brushing it with the Jasco stripper. When done I let it sit the suggested twenty minutes for the Jasco stripper to do its work. Then, using a plastic scraper (you can't use a metal scraper on aluminum) I began trying to remove the powder-coat finish. It didn't go well. I removed some of the finish but most of it remained and I was confronted with three choices: sand the rest of the finish off, try another application of the Jasco stripper or bite the bullet and get it media-blasted anyway. I decided to try another application of the Jasco stripper the following day, this time leaving it on for thirty minutes. Then I went at the powder-coat with the plastic scraper again. I had to use a combo of large and small scrapers to get into all the recesses of the Freewrite's shell. But the Jasco stripper is not a miracle worker and much of the powder-coat stubbornly remained. I pivoted to multiple grades of steel wool, from 0 to 0000. This took several hours of meticulous work but when I was done I was presented with something that looked very much like my Hemingwrite. Believe me, it stung to know Astrohaus is selling a raw-finish Freewrite (sure, it's "hand-buffed") with green keycaps and accents at a substantial premium and I thought of stopping there and using a spare set of green keycaps I own to create an ersatz Hemingwrite. But that was never my intent, so I pushed on with the custom color idea, posting a poll to the Freewrite community on Facebook, asking which color they'd like to see on a Freewrite. Astrohaus, in addition to the Hemingwrite, produced and sold a blue Freewrite and a cream Freewrite (this is before the Mint and Lemon editions) that garner a premium on EBay. The poll revealed "Green" to be the favored choice for a custom color so I did a Photoshop mock-up of red and green Freewrites and put them on the Facebook group. The response was positive. I called around to a bunch of local powder-coating places only to find they concentrate on automobile rims and little else. I even drove the Freewrite shell to one place only to be quoted a price of $150, which seemed a bit much. Then I remembered a place I used previously, up in Kingston, NY, a two hour drive north for me. We have friends in the Catskills and decided to cart the Freewrite to Kingston and stay overnight. A week later we returned to Kingston and retrieved the Freewrite, paying $50 for the Pastel Turquoise powder-coat it received. Now I had to put it all back together. THAT was a nightmare. Believe it or not, the spring on the power button gave me the greatest difficulty. I labored over THAT thing a solid hour to get it functioning properly. The rest of the reassembly was fraught as well, and there was still the issue of the black box on the E-Ink display. Luckily, this went away after I let the Freewrite charge overnight and I breathed a huge sigh of relief.
After posting pictures of the newly-finished Freewrite to the Astrohaus Facebook group and garnering an enthusiastic response, I decided to sell it and earn back what I spent in time, materials and labor. To me, a fair price would fall somewhere between $600–$700, based on recent EBay sales of stock Gen. 2 Freewrites ($325–$425), the cost of materials (Jasco Stripper, $28, powder-coating, $50), hours of disassembly, stripping of the finish, driving four hours round-trip to/from Kingston, reassembly, taking of pictures and posting an EBay listing. All that work is apart from the fact I produced a one-of-a-kind (AKA TRULY limited-edition) custom-color Freewrite. When I created the EBay listing I chose to start at $400 and not set a reserve price (EBay wanted $52 for the reserve price in addition to a final value and listing fee), hoping the enthusiasm in the Facebook group would reflect in healthy bidding activity. It did not. One person bid on my Pastel Turquoise Freewrite and I was faced with the prospect of selling it for $425, a price I might've seen if I'd left it black and not gone through all the effort to transform it. So I cancelled the sale and refunded the buyer's money immediately. I've been buying and selling on EBay almost 25 years and did not take this step lightly. The buyer, understandably upset, took to the Facebook Freewrite group and expressed his profound disappointment. Someone else decided to wade in and run down my character, describing what I did (cancelling the sale) as "borderline scammy behavior." Wow. I'm not sure who he thinks is being scammed but I'd like to see a show of hands for anyone who's wiling to work for free, what I'd be doing if I accepted $425 for my custom-color Freewrite. Yes, I could've and should've handled things differently. I might've offered the Freewrite on the Facebook group, setting a price I felt comfortable with. Or used a higher starting price or set a reserve on EBay. Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa. But in no way, shape or form was I trying to "scam" anyone. Eventually, the buyer and I came to an agreement and he paid what I consider a fair price for the custom-color Freewrite. I also fell out of love with my Hemingwrite, due to the horrid software and ergonomics (I was getting bad neck strain from looking down at the screen for hours) and kept pestering Astrohaus, going further up the foodchain until they took back my Hemingwrite and issued a full refund. Now another Freewrite has fallen into my lap (it’s a friend’s who can no longer stand the machine’s peccadilloes) and I'm on the cusp of possibly creating another custom-color Freewrite to increase its value for a sale. I’d love to be talked out of it, BTW.
Thanks, Chris T.
