My sister went to live in a small town in the Pacific Northwest about a year ago. Contact with her ceased 10 hours after she had left town. Her phone would go straight to voicemail and I couldn’t file her as missing, as I hadn’t even gone there to make sure she was okay myself. But when I entered that small sleepy village, I didn’t think I was going to be leaving.
The fact is she hadn’t told me specifically what town, but modern technology prevails and before she moved she had forgotten to stop sharing her location with me. At least the location was active for the 10 hours after she had left our shared apartment. The location was a road coursing through the dense pine forests, and the closest town was only a few miles North. It was a start so after a few days of ruminating, worrying and telling myself that she’s fine, she’s an adult, she doesn’t need me to baby her anymore, I caved to the worry and packed my bags.
The long drive from our hometown of ***** in Idaho was adding to my stress, if only speed limits were not a thing. I drove into the town of ******** as night was falling and the dense forests around me began to feel as if they were closing in on me. The town was quiet, and to be honest I couldn’t see anyone. A few signs flashed on and off which presumably meant that despite the deserted streets, people were most likely dwelling inside the diners and bars that were sporadically placed.
I pulled into the diner which had the most cars parked in the lot, stepping out of my car and briskly walking to it as it begun raining. The smell of pancakes, cigarettes and coffee hit me as I walked inside the door, along with the warmth that flooded over my cold limbs. The customers sat in their plaid shirts, sipping on their beverages, and looked at me in somewhat disdain. Outsiders I guess. I sat on the corner booth, and the waitress came over to me; a much less disapproving expression on her face thankfully. I ordered a diet coke and a stack of pancakes as after that drive my belly was louder than the chatter in the place. Whispers now, as if I had walked in on some secret group meeting that fronted as a family diner.
I tried ringing my sister again, hoping that perhaps it may ring this time. But it didn’t. I ate my pancakes, as I felt eyes on me with each bite. Once I had finished, I paid and left them, hearing the chatter intensify as the door shut behind me. It was 9pm and I had pre-booked a BnB about five minutes up the road. It was a quaint little colonial, with inviting amber light emanating from inside. From the empty parking lot I assumed I was to be the only guest that night, and I pulled my suitcase from my trunk, dragging it across the gravel courtyard.
As I got to the top of the stairs I realised there was no BnB sign or anything really that indicated that it was a BnB. No vacancy sign, no usual indications of it being a professional establishment. I twisted the doorknob and entered the ‘lobby’ which seemed to lack a reception desk, and very much looked as if I had simply walked into somebodies home. Silence. At this point I was certain I had inputted the wrong address, and seeing as it was a small town the fact that the door was unlocked was not so out of the ordinary. I turned and left, dragging my relatively heavy suitcase down the porch steps and back to my car. Before I managed to open my trunk, an elderly woman's voice came from behind me.
“Why you leaving dear, come on inside. I have just baked a fresh batch of Snicker doodles.”
I turned to see the lady, who looked very much like a stereotypical grandmother with her coifed hair and flowery apron.
I followed her as she escorted me back through the front door. At this point I was ready to collapse on a soft bed, my eyes were sore and my fingers felt as if they were about to snap from the cold air outside.
“I will take you to your room after you’ve tried one of my snickerdoodles,” the lady said as she gestured for me to follow her to the kitchen.
“This is the ***** BnB Isn’t it?” I asked as I sat on one of the chairs around the little round table she had in the middle of the kitchen.
“Yes of course. Would you like milk with your cookies dear?”
I ate the complementary cookies as she watched each bite that went into my mouth, before she asked the question that ultimately would lead to the cascade of events that made me never, ever want to visit a small town ever again.
“Where’s your invitation?” she asked as she tapped her fingers against the table.
“Invitation?” I asked. “You mean my booking number?”
“No dear, your invitation to this town. No one comes here without one.”
“I don’t have one, I only have the booking number for this hotel.”
When I said this the woman’s homely demeanour soon changed. She looked irritated, angry, and went to the phone that was hanging on the wall.
“Who are you calling?”
She turned back to me with wide eyes, and as I swallowed it felt as if one of those delicious cookies was lodged in my throat.
“I don’t know about an invitation, I have my booking number, I paid for the room.”
The lady didn’t look back to me when I said this and stood with the phone against her ear.
“There is a young lady here without an invitation,” the woman said. “Yes, no invitation.”
The woman started tapping her foot on the floor as she grew impatient with whoever was on the other end of the phone. At this point I got up, and backed into the hallway where my suitcase was still sitting by the front door.
“She’s leaving! What do you want me to do! I cant run after her, I had a damn hip replacement!”
I at this point, as anyone would do, ran to the front door, and picked my suitcase up as I heard her yelling intelligible things at the phone.
I ran to my car, shoved the suitcase on the passenger seat, and reversed out of there, as my heart was nearly bursting through my ribcage.
I drove back the way the diner was, not knowing what I was going to do. I couldn’t just leave here, my sister was somewhere and if this was how the locals were, I sure as hell was going to find her and take her back home.
But at this point I had nowhere to sleep, and it wasn’t like I could just drive to the next town over, which was hours away. I was sure to have crashed the car in my state of panic and sheer exhaustion.
I composed myself as my shaky hands held onto the wheel, and decided that f it. I would have to drive to the nearest town, whatever was going on here, whether I was just paranoid or what, felt very off.
But as I came to the road that led out of town, I noticed the orange lights of a roadblock, warping in the rain that started to pelt down harder.
I stopped my car and got out to speak to the people standing in front of it, placing cones and signs.
“I need to leave, is there another way out?” I yelled through the almost deafening sound of the rain.
“No Miss. you’ll have to get a hotel tonight.”
“Why is it blocked?”
“Something on the road. There’s a BnB up the road.”
I ran back to my car, wiping the rain out of my eyes. What on earth was going on, and one way out? They had to be lying or something. I turned my phone on and of course because of the rain, and impending storm, no signal, no maps.
I did a U turn, the road had to come out somewhere else up north. The town could not just be a one way in, dead end out.
I drove past the BnB, up the main road as my wipers were struggling to keep up with the pouring rain.
And thats when I realised that the main road at least was one way in. The road stopped randomly, blocked by pines that lead into a forest. I didn’t want to stop there, to I turned down a road to the right, just praying please please please get me out of here, I’ll come back in the daylight but please tonight just get me out of here.
The road began to get bumpy. In the distance I could see lights and through the intermittent vision I had of the road, I could see a church. I parked and got out of the car, hoping that the church might offer me some sort of shelter. I ran through the rain as the wind worked against me. I rapped on the old wooden door, yelling for someone to open it, all while looking back at the black void behind my car from where I had come.
After a few minutes, I heard the clinking of a lock and stepped back. A friendly face of a woman peered through a gap and she looked up at me.
“How can I help. Its 10Pm.”
“I have nowhere to stay, and that BnB down the road was not very inviting.”
“Invitation Hm?”
“Yes, you know about that?”
The lady opened the door and gestured for me to enter. The wind howled through the church even when she had shut the door, and there was candles placed throughout.
“Is the woman ok in that BnB?” I asked the lady.
“The woman. Miss, you came to the wrong place, and I’m not sure what I can do to help you.”
“The wrong place?” I asked as I felt completely as if I was about to break down and cry from the fear of what on earth was going on.
“You can stay here, and I will help you however I can. But it’s me and a few of my friends against that town. I cant promise anything.”

2024.05.15 05:54 EJC28 Patriots 2024 Draft Analysis Compilation
Hey! So, I’ve been posting these analysis compilations for each team in their respective subs, however, I am banned in the Patriots sub, so I figured I’d post this one (and only this one) here.
Round 1, Pick 3 - Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina:
NFL: Maye has prototypical dimensions and an exceptional arm. The comparisons made between Maye and Buffalo’s Josh Allen are real when it comes to his size, arm strength and leadership skills. Maye lacks the experience of other QBs in this draft, but if he can iron out some of his inconsistencies, he can be a superstar for the Patriots.
CBS Sports: B. He might need some time on the bench, but he has the talent to develop into a good starting quarterback in this league. He just needs to fine tune a few mechanical things. The Patriots had to get a quarterback.
ESPN: They didn't overthink it. In need of a potential franchise quarterback, and open to trading the pick if a big-time offer came their way, the Patriots landed a player who gives the organization the same type of hope that Drew Bledsoe did after being selected No. 1 overall in 1993. Now comes the important part of developing Maye with quality coaching, and ensuring he doesn't have too many voices in his ear.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Freaked out when a bird got into his house last summer and knocked over a lamp.
Round 2, Pick 37 - Ja’Lynn Polk, WR, Washington:
NFL: I wonder if the Patriots weren't hoping for Coleman to fall to them. Polk has some nice physical traits, possesses really nice body control to adjust to passes outside his frame and stepped up nicely when Jalen McMillan was hurt midseason last year. But I saw Polk's upside as lower, viewing him more as a third-round talent. He'll add size to New England's smaller WR room, though.
CBS Sports: B-. Complete wideout without stellar athletic traits who tracks it awesomely. Flashes of YAC wiggle and power. Fun, versatile piece to add to the offense that needs it. A tick early for him though.
ESPN: The Patriots had explored trading back into the bottom of the first round on Thursday night but couldn't strike a deal, according to sources. So they regrouped, traded down three spots in the second round (from 34 to 37) to improve 27 spots later in the draft (from 137 to 110), and then grabbed the player they probably would have picked at 34 in Polk. A Bill Belichick-type move from the new regime that will be judged, in part, by if they should have gone with WR Ladd McConkey (selected at 34) instead.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: He is currently binging all 14,000 episodes of Days of Our Lives.
Round 3, Pick 68 - Caedan Wallace, OT, Penn State:
NFL: Wallace is a thick-bodied right tackle who developed into an NFL prospect later in his six-year college career. With 40 college starts, he has experience, but it's almost all at that position, and Coleman was considered something of an underachiever earlier in his career. A reach for me.
CBS Sports: C-. Sizable framed OT with lumbering feet. Average-at-best athlete. Plays with good calmness and accuracy at second level and has quality power but overall athletic profile was severely threatened often in college. A concern for his NFL future. New England did need to add some OL depth. Worried about his upside.
ESPN: The Patriots' top need areas entering the draft were QB, WR and OT, and Wallace caps off the 1-2-3 approach in filling them. He was mostly a right tackle in college, but Wolf said the team believes Wallace has the athletic ability to move to the left side. First-year offensive line coach Scott Peters comes from the Browns and his presence ties to Wallace, who at the least will be counted upon to be a top backup as a rookie.

Round 4, Pick 103 - Layden Robinson, OG, Texas A&M:
NFL: It's funny, if you hadn't told me Eliot Wolf was running the Patriots' draft room, I might have just assumed it was business as usual in Foxboro, with Bill Belichick overseeing things. Robinson, like Day 2 picks Ja'Lynn Polk and Caedan Wallace, were semi-value reaches. Robinson is a hard-nosed guard-only who improves the depth up front, but was it a massive need?
CBS Sports: B+. Mashing guard who plays more athletically than his workout. Tremendous burst off the snap on a routine basis. Could add more strength at the next level. Serious length but hands are late often. Nastiness is there for the run and pass protection. Upside blocker.
ESPN: With starting left guard Cole Strange attempting to return from a late-season injury that could affect his availability early this year, the Patriots are loading up on the offensive line to give themselves as many options as possible. Robinson has been a pure right guard, where 2023 fourth-round pick Sidy Sow is the projected starter. The team also has 2023 fifth-rounder Atonio Mafi, so Robinson joins the young pipeline up front. One scouting report referred to him as an "absolute freight train in the running game," which seems to reflect the style of lineman the team is looking for under the new coaching staff.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: You don’t stop the rock It to the bang-bang boogie, say up jump the boogie.
Round 4, Pick 110 - Javon Baker, WR, UCF:
NFL: I figured the Patriots would double up at receiver, and there was some talk of Baker being a Day 2 pick. I didn't love all of his tape, but he clearly features big-play prowess. UCF didn't fully unleash his talent, but Baker also needs to hone the details of his craft before he can be in a featured role.
CBS Sports: A+. This is a future No. 1 wideout. While not a burner, he plays faster and has the complete skill set. Releases at the line are good, flexibility to get open at intermediate level, YAC prowess, and especially rebounding skills are high-end.
ESPN: Baker is a big play waiting to happen, as evidenced by his five catches of 50-plus yards last season. So after the Patriots selected Ja’Lynn Polk in the second round, they doubled down with Baker -- which reflects how director of scouting Eliot Wolf is decisively addressing one of the team's top deficiencies. Wolf grew up in the Packers' system, and they have had recent success taking a similar approach at WR and TE. If there is a knock on Baker, it's that he has 14 drops over the past two seasons.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: His favorite movie of all time is Scream.
Round 6, Pick 180 - Marcellas Dial, CB, South Carolina:
NFL: Dial has decent length and has gotten his hands on a lot of passes the past three years, and he has a chance to make it as a jack of all trades in the secondary, with experience at multiple spots.
CBS Sports: A-. This is tremendous value. Zone awareness for days. Didn’t see the football thrown in his direction much. Outstanding ball skills when it does arrive. Doesn’t miss many tackles either. Hard to find a clear flaw to his game.
ESPN: Christian Gonzalez (2023 first-round pick), veteran Jonathan Jones and third-year player Marcus Jones are at the top of the CB depth chart, followed by a group of younger players whom Dial (6-0, 190) will compete against for a roster spot. That group includes Alex Austin, Marco Wilson, Shaun Wade, Isaiah Bolden and Azizi Hearn. As is often the case at this point in the draft, contributions on special teams figure to be a notable factor if Dial ultimately breaks through. Dial said he visited the Patriots before the draft (among the three teams he traveled to see) and had a feeling he would land with them.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: If you send the right mod $10,000 they will sell you the sub.
Round 6, Pick 193 - Joe Milton III, QB, Tennessee:
NFL: Milton's bazooka arm figured to make him a late-round flier, but I didn't have him landing in New England after the Patriots took Drake Maye with the third overall pick. Some teams have toyed with the idea of turning Milton into a Logan Thomas-like TE conversion.
CBS Sports: C+. Will immediately have one of the strongest arms in the NFL. Grew a lot as a passer after transfer to Tennessee. Accuracy is very hit or miss and he’s an average athlete. Coverage-reading needs to improve. Big frame.
ESPN: After taking Drake Maye No. 3 overall, and then Milton, this marks just the second time in team history that two QBs were selected in the same draft (1983 with Tony Eason and Tom Ramsey). Milton's physical traits stand out -- he's 6-foot-5 and 246 pounds with a powerful arm -- and some believe he could transition to tight end in the NFL. When looking at Milton through the QB-specific lens, the Patriots obviously view Maye as their hopeful long-term option, with veteran Jacoby Brissett the current projected starter until Maye is ready. They would still be looking to carry a No. 3 option. Bailey Zappe (2022 fourth-round pick) and second-year player Nathan Rourke are also on the depth chart, and their spots on the roster could be in jeopardy if the Patriots view Milton as the ideal developmental option.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Totally cried when he read The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.
Round 7, Pick 231 - Jaheim Bell, TE, Florida State:
NFL: Bell was a versatile enough athlete that he played running back at South Carolina because of injuries, but his best chance to make it in the league is as a "move" tight end with his smaller frame.
CBS Sports: A+. H-back type with explosive YAC traits. Cutting skill and natural ability to absorb contact and keep the legs churning. Won’t be a natural separator but when schemed open he can be a fun asset in the New England offense.
ESPN: Coach Jerod Mayo said by this point of the draft, the Patriots were selecting the best player regardless of need. The 6-foot-2, 242-pound Bell played more than 40% of his snaps last season in the slot, so he's an H-back-type option more than an inline TE. The Patriots have veteran Hunter Henry atop their depth chart, with top backups Austin Hooper and Mitchell Wilcox on one-year contracts, so Bell gives them a developmental option with the future in mind. If he breaks through, he could be a safety valve for a young quarterback on safer, underneath routes. His 897 yards after the catch since 2021 rank second among FBS tight ends after Brock Bowers.

Round 2, Pick 37 - Ja’Lynn Polk, WR, Washington:
NFL: I wonder if the Patriots weren't hoping for Coleman to fall to them. Polk has some nice physical traits, possesses really nice body control to adjust to passes outside his frame and stepped up nicely when Jalen McMillan was hurt midseason last year. But I saw Polk's upside as lower, viewing him more as a third-round talent. He'll add size to New England's smaller WR room, though.
CBS Sports: B-. Complete wideout without stellar athletic traits who tracks it awesomely. Flashes of YAC wiggle and power. Fun, versatile piece to add to the offense that needs it. A tick early for him though.
ESPN: The Patriots had explored trading back into the bottom of the first round on Thursday night but couldn't strike a deal, according to sources. So they regrouped, traded down three spots in the second round (from 34 to 37) to improve 27 spots later in the draft (from 137 to 110), and then grabbed the player they probably would have picked at 34 in Polk. A Bill Belichick-type move from the new regime that will be judged, in part, by if they should have gone with WR Ladd McConkey (selected at 34) instead.

Round 3, Pick 68 - Caedan Wallace, OT, Penn State:
NFL: Wallace is a thick-bodied right tackle who developed into an NFL prospect later in his six-year college career. With 40 college starts, he has experience, but it's almost all at that position, and Coleman was considered something of an underachiever earlier in his career. A reach for me.
CBS Sports: C-. Sizable framed OT with lumbering feet. Average-at-best athlete. Plays with good calmness and accuracy at second level and has quality power but overall athletic profile was severely threatened often in college. A concern for his NFL future. New England did need to add some OL depth. Worried about his upside.
ESPN: The Patriots' top need areas entering the draft were QB, WR and OT, and Wallace caps off the 1-2-3 approach in filling them. He was mostly a right tackle in college, but Wolf said the team believes Wallace has the athletic ability to move to the left side. First-year offensive line coach Scott Peters comes from the Browns and his presence ties to Wallace, who at the least will be counted upon to be a top backup as a rookie.

Round 4, Pick 103 - Layden Robinson, OG, Texas A&M:
NFL: It's funny, if you hadn't told me Eliot Wolf was running the Patriots' draft room, I might have just assumed it was business as usual in Foxboro, with Bill Belichick overseeing things. Robinson, like Day 2 picks Ja'Lynn Polk and Caedan Wallace, were semi-value reaches. Robinson is a hard-nosed guard-only who improves the depth up front, but was it a massive need?
CBS Sports: B+. Mashing guard who plays more athletically than his workout. Tremendous burst off the snap on a routine basis. Could add more strength at the next level. Serious length but hands are late often. Nastiness is there for the run and pass protection. Upside blocker.
ESPN: With starting left guard Cole Strange attempting to return from a late-season injury that could affect his availability early this year, the Patriots are loading up on the offensive line to give themselves as many options as possible. Robinson has been a pure right guard, where 2023 fourth-round pick Sidy Sow is the projected starter. The team also has 2023 fifth-rounder Atonio Mafi, so Robinson joins the young pipeline up front. One scouting report referred to him as an "absolute freight train in the running game," which seems to reflect the style of lineman the team is looking for under the new coaching staff.

Round 4, Pick 110 - Javon Baker, WR, UCF:
NFL: I figured the Patriots would double up at receiver, and there was some talk of Baker being a Day 2 pick. I didn't love all of his tape, but he clearly features big-play prowess. UCF didn't fully unleash his talent, but Baker also needs to hone the details of his craft before he can be in a featured role.
CBS Sports: A+. This is a future No. 1 wideout. While not a burner, he plays faster and has the complete skill set. Releases at the line are good, flexibility to get open at intermediate level, YAC prowess, and especially rebounding skills are high-end.
ESPN: Baker is a big play waiting to happen, as evidenced by his five catches of 50-plus yards last season. So after the Patriots selected Ja’Lynn Polk in the second round, they doubled down with Baker -- which reflects how director of scouting Eliot Wolf is decisively addressing one of the team's top deficiencies. Wolf grew up in the Packers' system, and they have had recent success taking a similar approach at WR and TE. If there is a knock on Baker, it's that he has 14 drops over the past two seasons.

Round 6, Pick 180 - Marcellas Dial, CB, South Carolina:
NFL: Dial has decent length and has gotten his hands on a lot of passes the past three years, and he has a chance to make it as a jack of all trades in the secondary, with experience at multiple spots.
CBS Sports: A-. This is tremendous value. Zone awareness for days. Didn’t see the football thrown in his direction much. Outstanding ball skills when it does arrive. Doesn’t miss many tackles either. Hard to find a clear flaw to his game.
ESPN: Christian Gonzalez (2023 first-round pick), veteran Jonathan Jones and third-year player Marcus Jones are at the top of the CB depth chart, followed by a group of younger players whom Dial (6-0, 190) will compete against for a roster spot. That group includes Alex Austin, Marco Wilson, Shaun Wade, Isaiah Bolden and Azizi Hearn. As is often the case at this point in the draft, contributions on special teams figure to be a notable factor if Dial ultimately breaks through. Dial said he visited the Patriots before the draft (among the three teams he traveled to see) and had a feeling he would land with them.

Round 6, Pick 193 - Joe Milton III, QB, Tennessee:
NFL: Milton's bazooka arm figured to make him a late-round flier, but I didn't have him landing in New England after the Patriots took Drake Maye with the third overall pick. Some teams have toyed with the idea of turning Milton into a Logan Thomas-like TE conversion.
CBS Sports: C+. Will immediately have one of the strongest arms in the NFL. Grew a lot as a passer after transfer to Tennessee. Accuracy is very hit or miss and he’s an average athlete. Coverage-reading needs to improve. Big frame.
ESPN: After taking Drake Maye No. 3 overall, and then Milton, this marks just the second time in team history that two QBs were selected in the same draft (1983 with Tony Eason and Tom Ramsey). Milton's physical traits stand out -- he's 6-foot-5 and 246 pounds with a powerful arm -- and some believe he could transition to tight end in the NFL. When looking at Milton through the QB-specific lens, the Patriots obviously view Maye as their hopeful long-term option, with veteran Jacoby Brissett the current projected starter until Maye is ready. They would still be looking to carry a No. 3 option. Bailey Zappe (2022 fourth-round pick) and second-year player Nathan Rourke are also on the depth chart, and their spots on the roster could be in jeopardy if the Patriots view Milton as the ideal developmental option.

Round 7, Pick 231 - Jaheim Bell, TE, Florida State:
NFL: Bell was a versatile enough athlete that he played running back at South Carolina because of injuries, but his best chance to make it in the league is as a "move" tight end with his smaller frame.
CBS Sports: A+. H-back type with explosive YAC traits. Cutting skill and natural ability to absorb contact and keep the legs churning. Won’t be a natural separator but when schemed open he can be a fun asset in the New England offense.
ESPN: Coach Jerod Mayo said by this point of the draft, the Patriots were selecting the best player regardless of need. The 6-foot-2, 242-pound Bell played more than 40% of his snaps last season in the slot, so he's an H-back-type option more than an inline TE. The Patriots have veteran Hunter Henry atop their depth chart, with top backups Austin Hooper and Mitchell Wilcox on one-year contracts, so Bell gives them a developmental option with the future in mind. If he breaks through, he could be a safety valve for a young quarterback on safer, underneath routes. His 897 yards after the catch since 2021 rank second among FBS tight ends after Brock Bowers.

Yaaay! 💪🏻 I was so excited to get into this giant package from one of my favourite stores, and one I really love to support as they deserve it! This was actually a couple of orders I placed over time and Rodem contacted me to ask me if I wanted to combine them which demonstrates their incredibly attentive customer service. Usually the customer needs to contact the store for this to happen. Included inside was powdered borax, a free gift slime for each order plus one more because it was a large order and they are generous. This exchange with Rodem got us chatting and then something very special transpired but I will post separately about that as I have to cram a lot of slime into this review and have limited space for images! I had to brew a cup of tea, sit down and take my time going through all of these to make sure I combined all the correct things! It helps a lot that they are all pictured on the enclosed invoice but it would be helpful if they were packaged together. That having been said, separating the heavy pots of slime from the clays is a good idea when the order is this big and heavy so I can't complain!
The clay was soooo very soft, moist and pleasant to squish into the base. After you take the base out the pot you are met with a little bit of “caramel” sauce on the bottom of the pie. It’s all very mouth watering. This was the perfect, massively inflatable snow fizz and I was so in love with it. It was super crunchy and had the expected abundance of ASMR fizzles. It was beautifully activated and in every way a perfect slime. The base was soft, jiggly, super clicky and fluffy and the Styrofoam really satisfying to crush into it. I just couldn’t get over how spectacular the scent was, it was making me hungry! This slime was a slightly looser slay texture and needed a little bit of activator to aid in handleability but not much. It had a few nice medium pops in it but very little hold, which unfortunately isn’t to my taste but many people love that. I was tied over this slime as the scent was just divine but I prefer more holdable textures. That is a reflection on my personal tastes however, not the slime which was great! If you like jiggly slays you’ll fall in love with this. The base was quite loose and jiggly and called for a little bit of activator but very soft, chubby, quite matte and pleasant in the hands. This combined into a huge, soft, marshmallowy mound of slime with a lovely plush surface. Super stretchy and fun to fold for soft bubble pops and lovely soft sizzles. It was a little on the loose side for my personal tastes but slay lover will again adore this! The HUUUUUGE cheese clay came in a sealed package and was so soft and pleasant to squish. It became a ginormous, matte, sort of butter texture, which was both fairly holdable and yet exceedingly soft. It stuck to my play area a bit. It was quite a job to handle it on account of its size and a difficult texture to describe. It didn’t feel sticky at all on my play surface but stuck to my hands when I tried to pick it up and stretch it. When I pressed my hand into it on the surface it didn’t stick or feel sticky but if I picked it up to try and stretch it, it was very gooey and hard to shape. Activator didn’t seem to make that much of a difference. This was a texture unlike any other I’ve experienced. The scent was a relaxing and homely peachy perfume with notes of bubble bath and baby powder. The drizzle was good!! True cloud is a hard slime to make to spec and, in light of that, a lot of companies don’t really bother with it. I’m so happy Rodem did and did such a great job. It was very soft and plush with gorgeous blankety folds and I have everything crossed they make more of this texture soon. I have no idea what I’ll do with the delightful little rug other than treasure it forever! Haha! Even just looking at these photos as I type out the review I'm smiling again! I wish this slime was my dressing gown! haha!
This was a medium thickness, glossy texture which was very chewy and clicky. The foam pieces were quite hard and angular but crushable if you really go for it. This was a very novel floam texture which made a great change from the usual balls. This was exploding with fantastic crackles and pops, top tier sounds. I think the angular foam is even better for trapping air as this slime sounded like a tiny elephant stampeding in a bubble wrap factory! The clay was again super soft and pleasant to squish into the nice, clicky base. This was a lovely, chubby, stretchy slime. It was a little on the thicker side and created satisfying farty bubble pops. C'est bon!

This is a moist, super clicky, jiggly slime with two large sponges in it that crush like jelly cubes. This is extremely bubbly and full of juicy wet crackles and high pitched big pops. You can create absolutely gargantuan air bubbles with this texture. If you, like me, don’t typically enjoy loose jiggly slimes, there is a damn good chance that you will enjoy this as I loved it! It was just so multifaceted with what it offered. First, you have the unusual scent which is pretty intriguing and different. Then you have the two giant cubes to crush which is always nice. Then you have the joy of the crackles, pops and loud clicks. Finally, you have the enormous bubbles! You just can’t not have fun with this! That bubble (slubble?) was bigger than me!!
This was exactly the texture and scent I fancied finishing on and quite by chance it was! I couldn’t find Rodem’s description for this one’s texture until later so I had no idea what to expect as I had forgotten, what a joy!!! This combined into a really lovely, soft sage green. This is another light, soft, squishy, chewy and chubby inflating texture that ends up airy and puffy. I absolutely loved it! Unfortunately that is one more image than I am able to embed on Reddit so please click here to see it! With Rodem, nothing is fully predictable and every texture brings with it a nice surprise. This is especially pleasing to experience when you place big orders. There is nothing more disappointing to me than buying a lot of slimes from a company just to discovered there is hardly any nuance between them and the experience is basically a rinse and repeat one, texturally identical and/or predictable. Rodem break the mold and throw in some very unusual elements and scents. Their themes are so well thought out and utterly charming and beautifully presented. They produce so many textures and master them, each one designed with so much love and attentiveness. I really adore this company and feel they work hard to bring joy and excellence to the slime community. Recently one of the more commercial slime companies was caught using Rodem’s brand as a key word on their google ads to steer business away from them and onto their own website which I thought was in very poor taste. It is however testament to the fact that they knew Rodem was a company slime enthusiasts were talking about. And so we should be! It is my pleasure and honour to continue supporting this wonderful company. I'm so excited to see what they come up with next! I loved pretty much every slime and the ones I didn’t were more so a personal taste thing than a quality control issue. There were a couple I found less handleable or with activation issues (Emmental and Sakura Sand) but that is pretty damn good going for an order this huge and the sand one was easily fixable. Morrigan had just finished talking with her sister Horus. Horus said that father was in fact a sorcerer, a user of the powers that her adoptive father had once used. Morrigan was furious and was about to prepare her legion for war against her father. However, she intended to mull over this information while gardening, and spend time with her Lily. However, as she entered her room, she saw a ghastly sight, something that hurt her to the core, more than anything she ever experienced. Her lily in bed, their body connected to all manner of medicare machinery. Their skin was paler than usual. She could hardly see their chest move, and their body appeared paralyzed. Morrigan came to her lily’s bedside. “Apothecary, what is wrong?” The apothecary looked listlessly at the ceiling, their chest barely rising and failing, their arms limp at their sides. Morrigan felt a tear touch their eye, and they wiped it away. “Apothecary, you must tell what is wrong. Apothecary!” She yelled angrily, partly at her own inability to do anything to help them, and partly at the pain her lily was surely suffering through.
Then she heard a rasping voice behind her. A voice that sounded like a manifestation of someone she knew. “Mother. It seems your attachment to this psyker has nearly caused their demise. Pity.”
Morrigan swung her scythe towards the voice, and stopped shortly after seeing the voice was coming from Typhus, who was somehow still alive. “What do you want Typhus?” She said angrily, scythe placed on the cut that had severed his head. “What sorcery has returned you from your death?”
Typhus laughed, a raspy and hoarse laugh. “It matters not how I am here, but why I am here. I have a way to help your beloved apothecary. I can help them; all I need is your word.”
Morrigan looked back to her lily, seeing the immense pain they were in, then looked over at the vibrant garden they had cultivated. She then looked back to her son, in angry contemplation. “I will not be a puppet to whatever sorcerer has returned you to life. You aren’t a son of mine, and I shall not negotiate with you.” Morrigan once again removed Tyhpus’s head from his neck. She told her sons to burn the corpse and then throw the ashes into space. She would not let Tyhpus’s corruption interfere any longer.
She spent the night tending to her garden, taking breaks to check on her Lily, knowing deep inside that they may never get better. However, when she slept that night, she was taken to a nightmarish realm of her sons fighting against her father, their bodies corrupted by chaos. She could hear the bile filled laughter of a creature in the background, cackling at the disgusting sight of what her sons had become.
Finally, it called out to her. “If only cough you could change their croak fate. If only. You can *sickening gurgle* even help your poor apothecary.” The sight of her lily on the bed appeared before her, and Morrigan could feel a slimy hand upon her shoulder, the bile filled breath of some abomination. “I can help them. All you need to do is complete one little favor for me. What do you say, won't you shake a poor man’s hand?” Said the voice, a hand reaching out from the shadows.
Morrigan knew this must be a trick. She could surely heal her lily without the help of this thing, whatever it was. It may require her to do things she would rather not, but at least she would have a choice. At least she wouldn’t sell her soul “I don’t need your help.” She said stubbornly, sure that she did not need to make this deal as much as the voice thought she did.
The voice grunted angrily, showing her further horrors of the future, of bloated bodies, pestilence and plagues that rampaged her sons, her lily and her home world. “Fine. That is your wish” Morrigan was forced to watch as these visions played over and over in her head. The only way she could think of to escape was the one thing she never wished to do. She dug down deep inside, finding the psychic power she always knew she had, but refused to use. Only with the strength of will could she expel the visions from her head.
Morrigan woke up from her nightmare in cold sweats. She looked over to her side, to see her lily lying to her side, still limp, staring listlessly into space. She knew what she must do to help them, but she was not sure if she was truly ready to use sorcery like her adoptive father, or the Emperor, or Magnolia. She decided to mull over this and spend time in the garden, spending time alone with her thoughts. Perhaps then she might find an answer to her troubles.
She spent days alone in her garden, tending to plants that she could barely keep alive. It gave her something to focus on, something to keep her mind away from the choice she had to make. That was until her sons barged into her room, even though she had specifically told them to leave her alone. She got up, scythe at the ready.
Her son ignored the scythe, stating the purpose of his interruption, “Apologies for the interruption Mother, we are in need of the apothecary. The sick and injured are mounting, and we don't have enough personnel. We will lose more than half of our number without their help.”
She looked over to her lily, still laying near death upon her bed, hooked up to a matter of medicae machinery. “They are in no condition to help my son. But if they improve, I will send them down.” She knew her sons would not understand, and she did not want them to. Not yet. She was not ready to face the facts, not yet. But she would need to do the one thing she swore never to do if she wanted to save her sons and keep humanity safe, especially knowing that she knew her father’s true intentions, or at least she knew what he really was... Her sister Horus was probably letting her ambition run free and was trying to use her against her father. So she was the only one left to protect humanity from the ambitions of tyrants, sorcerers and murderers. ‘Ironic’, she thought, as she prepared to use her psychic abilities to heal her lily, so that they may help her sons, and then help humanity. She placed her hands upon their chest, repeating the same process she had seen her lily use many times in the apothecary when she thought they weren’t looking.
They awoke moments later, eyes flickering open as some light returned to their eyes. They gave a weak smile, their voice weak and raspy. “Is something wrong my M’lady? I feel like I’ve been sleeping for days.”
Morrigan laid a hand on theirs and gave them a glass to drink from. “We will talk later apothecary. Once you are ready, you are badly needed in the apothecary chambers. Incoming injured is overwhelming existing personnel.”
They could not read their lady’s face. Was it concern that they saw, fear, something else? How long had they been asleep? Why did their lady give off a psychic energy they had not before? They did not have the answers to these questions, but they knew now was not the time for answers. People were in need of aid, and so queries must wait. They took a sip from the glass, and then prepared to take on their apothecary duties once more.
Morrigan left, giving them privacy and so that she could see the apothecary, help her sons whoever she could. Maybe she could ask her lily about their abilities. Maybe she could find a way to use them for humanity’s benefit? Maybe it would all be for naught, and she would be right about the nature of such sorcery. But that could wait till later.

All you need to do is complete one little favor for me. What do you say, won't you shake a poor man’s hand?” Said the voice, a hand reaching out from the shadows.
Morrigan knew this must be a trick. She could surely heal her lily without the help of this thing, whatever it was. It may require her to do things she would rather not, but at least she would have a choice. At least she wouldn’t sell her soul “I don’t need your help.” She said stubbornly, sure that she did not need to make this deal as much as the voice thought she did.
The voice grunted angrily, showing her further horrors of the future, of bloated bodies, pestilence and plagues that rampaged her sons, her lily and her home world. “Fine. That is your wish” Morrigan was forced to watch as these visions played over and over in her head. The only way she could think of to escape was the one thing she never wished to do. She dug down deep inside, finding the psychic power she always knew she had, but refused to use. Only with the strength of will could she expel the visions from her head.
Morrigan woke up from her nightmare in cold sweats. She looked over to her side, to see her lily lying to her side, still limp, staring listlessly into space. She knew what she must do to help them, but she was not sure if she was truly ready to use sorcery like her adoptive father, or the Emperor, or Magnolia. She decided to mull over this and spend time in the garden, spending time alone with her thoughts. Perhaps then she might find an answer to her troubles.
She spent days alone in her garden, tending to plants that she could barely keep alive. It gave her something to focus on, something to keep her mind away from the choice she had to make. That was until her sons barged into her room, even though she had specifically told them to leave her alone. She got up, scythe at the ready.
Her son ignored the scythe, stating the purpose of his interruption, “Apologies for the interruption Mother, we are in need of the apothecary. The sick and injured are mounting, and we don't have enough personnel. We will lose more than half of our number without their help.”
She looked over to her lily, still laying near death upon her bed, hooked up to a matter of medicae machinery. “They are in no condition to help my son. But if they improve, I will send them down.” She knew her sons would not understand, and she did not want them to. Not yet. She was not ready to face the facts, not yet. But she would need to do the one thing she swore never to do if she wanted to save her sons and keep humanity safe, especially knowing that she knew her father’s true intentions, or at least she knew what he really was... Her sister Horus was probably letting her ambition run free and was trying to use her against her father. So she was the only one left to protect humanity from the ambitions of tyrants, sorcerers and murderers. ‘Ironic’, she thought, as she prepared to use her psychic abilities to heal her lily, so that they may help her sons, and then help humanity. She placed her hands upon their chest, repeating the same process she had seen her lily use many times in the apothecary when she thought they weren’t looking.
They awoke moments later, eyes flickering open as some light returned to their eyes. They gave a weak smile, their voice weak and raspy. “Is something wrong my M’lady? I feel like I’ve been sleeping for days.”
Morrigan laid a hand on theirs and gave them a glass to drink from. “We will talk later apothecary. Once you are ready, you are badly needed in the apothecary chambers. Incoming injured is overwhelming existing personnel.”
They could not read their lady’s face. Was it concern that they saw, fear, something else? How long had they been asleep? Why did their lady give off a psychic energy they had not before? They did not have the answers to these questions, but they knew now was not the time for answers. People were in need of aid, and so queries must wait. They took a sip from the glass, and then prepared to take on their apothecary duties once more.
Morrigan left, giving them privacy and so that she could see the apothecary, help her sons whoever she could. Maybe she could ask her lily about their abilities. Maybe she could find a way to use them for humanity’s benefit? Maybe it would all be for naught, and she would be right about the nature of such sorcery. But that could wait till later.

The look of the mother was strong, too strong, full of a hundred thousand emotional weights that even a shared glance brought me down to the ocean floor, my heart ached like tectonic movements as I saw the scene before me. The child moved erratically between hoarse shrill screeches as if possessed but in her hands was a plastic blue rosary still sealed in its packaging. Her hands in profound strength, calloused and wrinkled, held the child in delicate firmness and without an ounce of contempt to the confused cries to her child.

He stayed the night at a friend's house the night before. He said she was beautiful in her dress and Seth does start to get very emotional about the memory. He said there is pictures in his wedding album he still has. His mom and dad got them a hotel room and she started watching TV and he was drunk so he fell asleep and he says she never forgave him for it (fondly). -Talking about the moment Katie told him they were having Sebastian, she told him on her mom's birthday just saying "I'm pregnant" and he thought he'd be a horrible dad and would fail. Sebastian was 5 days late, born on Seth's dad's birthday. Seth says Sebastian had a lot of complications at birth and the pregnancy was difficult for Katie, the midwife wasnt the best he mentions. He was in the room when he was born, Sebastian peed all over the nurse and Seth said "okay, he's mine!" -Seth says Sebastians first word was a cuss word, second was cuss word, then dad and then bottle -Seth said Sebastian was a quick crawler but he was delayed with walking -Seth says Sebastian was awake 16-18 hours a day as a toddler and he says that's one of the first things that made him think something was different about his son. He said for the first 8 months he was sick a lot, constantly. The flu, pneumonia. After that his immune system kicked in. -When Katie and Seth were together, Seth went to school and worked full time and Katie worked full time. He tried to have a lady babysit him down the road but things weren't working out anymore and Katie went and joined the Navy and then Seth became a stay at home dad bc there wasn't anyone to watch him. He noticed there was delayed speech, motor skill issues, etc. He says Katie joined the Navy so he had insurance. -Seth says Sebastians sleep improved once his health did but Sebastian still doesn't sleep for 8 hours a day. - Side-Special - Barrel Throw: Picks a Barrel up then throws it forward or if in the air down, which the barrel can be picked up as item.
- Up-Special - Barrel Cannon: Enters a barrel cannon and fires himself in the direction that is input.
- Final-Smash - Finishing Blow: Starts off with landing a powerful upward punch, if success at hitting the opponent, the screen darkens then, lands a flurry of fast punches before knocking them upwards.
- Idle Animation #2: He quickly sits down and pulls out a Nintendo Switch and plays it.
- Up-Taunt: Still pounds his chest, but now hollers wildly while doing so.
- Left Victory Pose: DK rapidly punches and kicks a Slot Machine Barrel from the Retro Donkey Kong Country games, breaking it and releasing a bunch of bananas; once he's done, he lands on the ground and smiles for the camera, while giving a thumbs-up
- Right Victory Pose: He still pounds his chest, but just like his new Up-Taunt, hollers wildly.
- Link will not just use the Master Sword, he will use the Ancient Axe and Guardian Spear.

- Ice Arrows: Deal ice damage & freeze opponents when at high enough percentages.

- Bomb Arrows: Explode on contact.
- Light Arrows: Goes through opponents when fully charged.
- Ancient Arrows: Creates a massive blue explosion of energy.
- Up-Special - Sailcloth: Pulls out the Sailcloth, then goes in an updraft and afterwards goes straight down without changing direction.
- She is now able to switch between Plasma Beam Energy & Ice Beam Energy, by using the Shield Special Button.
- Now moves slightly faster and has more air speed.
- The Missiles do now reload when not in use or after being KO'd.

- Down-Special: Also, now adds Freeze Fields, where she summons 3 spinning ice projectiles that block attacks & freeze opponents.
- Final-Smash - Hyper Beam: Charges her arm cannon & fires a large beam of energy, which can be angled & can go through opponents & walls.
- His Black Yoshi alt. returns.
- Yoshi can now hold to six eggs he creates with his Neutral Special.
- Grab: Remains the same although it can also now be used a tether recovery and a ledge clinger.
- Neutral-Special: Functions the same but it also now can be used as a tether recovery and a ledge clinger and also can now grab items and projectiles.
- Side-Special: His old Up Special, Egg Throw, is moved here and a reticle also appears and can be angled before being thrown.

- Down-Special - Ground Pound: Beginning of the move's function is the same, but it now has the ability to Meteor Spike and Bounce on opponents. Also, Name is changed.
- Kirby's Gimmick now consists of the Copy Abilities from the Kirby Games instead of Copied Neutral Specials.
- Down-Tilt - Slide Kick: Performs a forward Sliding Kick.
- Dash-Attack: His Brawl & Smash 4 Dash Attack, Break Spin, is back and functions the same as it did in Brawl & Smash 4.
- Side-Smash - Staff: Swings the Staff forward.
- Up-Smash - Yo-Yo: Spins the Yo-Yo upwards, then brings it back to him.
- Down-Smash - Bell: Performs a spin and then strikes on both sides of him with his bells, creating 2 damaging soundwaves.
- Forward-Throw - Giant Swing: Does a giant swing forward.
- Back-Throw - Air Suplex: Does a backwards Suplex.
- Up-Throw - Ultra Back Breaker: Jumps, spins around & lands to the ground with the opponent for an explosion.
- Down-Throw - Megaton Slam: Lifts the opponent up & then throws them onto the ground.
- Neutral-Special: Name & Function remain the same though now it also functions like it does in the Kirby Games.
- Side-Special - Circus: Does two short somersaults and backsaults back to where he started the attack.

- Down-Special: The Move Stays but with some tweaks here and there as Stone can now slide temporarily while dashing and using the move.
- Final-Smash - Paint Out: Sprays blobs of paint all over, causing damage and knockback to opponents.
- Final-Smash - Arwing: Says "It's go time", then hops aboard on the arwing, then goes into First-Person Perspective and fires arwing shots and smart bombs.
- Pikachu will also now have alternate colors instead of Headwear, although its Pikachu Libre costume remains. Its alternate colors include Blue (Marill), Gray (Togedemaru), White (Pachirisu), Orange (Raichu),
- Dash-Attack - Wild Charge: Shrouds in electricity, while charging at the opponent and smashes into them. It may inflict self-damage though.

- Neutral-Special - Electro Ball: Its body becomes surrounded in yellow electricity and multiple yellow sparks come off its body. The electricity then condenses at the middle of its face and forms into an Orange-yellow ball, then fires the ball at the opponent.

It was doing well until I forgot to water it for half a week, then half of the leaves fell off. I have since moved it down from on top of the cabinet and watered it regularly whenever the soil felt dry and making sure it didn't have wet feet. The new spot has plenty of daylight but little direct/harsh sunlight if that matters. It's been in the same spot for quite a while I'm not sure if the one dry spell has anything to do with the current issue but just so you know what happened to the plant after I bought it Last week the stem started browning like an overripe banana just over night. Not the leaves or side stems, but the main stem. From about 5 or 10 cm above the soil to 10 or 20 cm. The top and bottom part of the stem weren't affected nor were the side stems and leaves. A day later all remaining side stems and leaves hung down and the main stem was obviously gone/rotting, it browned/blackened more, so I just lopped it all off so as not to let the whole thing die. I cut it about 2/3 cm (1 inch I think) below the blackened part Now I'm wondering if I might have acted too soon. Maybe I should have waited? I used clean sharp scissors to cut it off and I cut about 2 or 3 cm under the blackened part. I didn't want any rot residue to contaminate the rest of the stem and the roots. There's about a hand width of seemingly healthy stem leftover I am keeping the stem (and roots etc) in the pot for now and have only watered it a tad bit, because it's been afwul hot the past couple of days and the soil started feeling a bit dry Is it realistic to think the ficus will ever grow back? Not sure if the photo is clear, but the stem seems to be doing ok for now. It´s brown on the outside, but not like a ripe banana like the rest was. It´s in an appropriate sized pot. The wicker basket is just for show, there´s a smaller size pot in it. No water gets left on the bottom Ficus were supposed to be easy once you place them correctly and don´t move them around. Did I kill my ficus by moving it? Too little or too much water anyway? I stick my finger in the soil daily and only water a little at a time, but I could have gotten it wrong still Other info, no herbicides or pesticides are used, no chemical cleaning in the environment (water for the windowsill and a mixture of water and vinegar for the windows, but the windows haven't been done since before I bought the ficus so that can't be it). It gets about 30 to 60 minutes of "direct" sunlight. That's through a screen and around 8 pm when the sun is about to set. I do not know what chemicals were used before I got this plant, but I've had it for many months now, that shouldn't make too much of a difference. There's a layer of hydro pellets in the pot to prevent over watering/root rot. I do have a cat that likes to snuggle and occasionally bite plants, but the ficus is out of his reach due to being toxic for cats Plantclinic readers please help me save this ficus. This is long but please bear with me, Im desperate for help.
Okay so it’s been two weeks now, ive been wearing a clear plastic retainer at night (a little inconsistently at first because i got hesitant) that i got fitting from an orthodontist. I’ve noticed the past two days my gums have receded at least 2mm from my two front and the two next to them on one side. My teeth have also noticeably moved but I assume that’s because they weren’t straight in the first place.
I had braces when I was younger but i probably haven’t worn my retainer in 8 years with very little noticeable movement… until a few weeks ago. Two years ago I got my wisdom teeth removed and in the healing process I started mewing (dumb) and my four very back molars have started angling themselves out and up. I also have TMJD that has gone untreated my whole life. I also started smoking marijuana daily within the last few years, I’ve subsided mostly after this issue arose, definitely making sure to brush aftebefore retainer.
When I noticed some over lap and one side of my teeth was bending in toward the other, I became hyperfixated and distressed, making my clenching worse.
I booked with the same ortho I had as a kid and when they took a look they said my smile looked great and that they were actually impressed with how much my teeth haven’t moved without me wearing a retainer for so long.
At that point I was more concerned with the pressure and discomfort I was feeling as I started an anxious tick of pulling at my teeth. I explained to her my TMJD issues and she referred me to an oral surgeon as well as recommend I see my orthodontist for a night guard. She preceded to recommend I get scanned for a new retainer to wear in the meantime to make sure my teeth don’t move more than they have. She didn’t exactly explain when or how consistently to wear them though.
I picked them up a week later and since then my teeth have moved and shifted; yes, they are more parallel now side to side, but they’ve only matched the non-TMJD side with the TMJD side, all shifting forward, but the two front ones are bending inward. Now both sides of my jaw and face I am experiencing TMJD pain and strain rather than just the one sides. My bite is deeper and my teeth lock.
This was the least of my worries though as I knew I’d need oral surgery to treat myTMJD eventually when i can afford treatment. It wasn’t until I noticed my GUMS RECEDING of course of all things to make it worse. Specifically in the two top front and two teeth next to them on one side. I feel pinching in between my teeth in the front and there is redness associated.
I don’t know if it’s because my teeth are moving that much or if the retainer is too tight or even if it’s simply the angle of my mouth because of the TMJD bone deformation.
Do I keep wearing the retainer? If so, should I keep wearing them just at night? If it’s causing these negative side effects and discomfort can I just stop wearing it or is that risking it worsening? I don’t want to buy a whole new retainer when I haven’t had it a month. Also if anyone has any recommendations on relieving TMJD pain it would be so very welcomed.
Thank you so much, this issue and discomfort has greatly affected my day to day. I graduate uni this weekend but I almost didn’t because of the anxiety associated. I haven’t been able to sleep, barely eating, hyperfixing and getting stuck in multiple hour long spirals no matter what logic or reassurance I try to throw at myself, crying so hard I’ve dehydrated myself and have been suffering crippling migraines, and panic attacks that scare my loved ones - and myself.
This something that is affecting all aspects of my life and everyone in it. I also want to note that I have seeked out and started receiving therapy from a mental and emotional health professional to help. I just want some relief, I’m trying everything I can manage. Let me just say this by far is one of my weirdest and creepiest dreams and I can still remember it vividly to this day.
The dream started pretty simple, a school trip to a manor house that I felt was very familiar maybe from a movie or something very old England style with oak stairs and antiques, nevertheless the dream started off pretty normal just exploring the beautiful house with my classmates, while I'm walking through this house I spot a door that is slightly hinged open and pitch black. (this is where the dream started take a turn) While walking past this door I spot Somone inside, at a closer look i spot a humanoid figure with no hands or feet just stubs(still had legs and arms), malnourished, white and covered in red scratches, peeled off skin and spots like some sort of crack addict. I just sort of shrugged this off and was like well that's very weird but sort of moved on with my classmates, next thing I know we sneak into this beautiful greenhouse with plants from all over the world it was truly beautiful, until I felt a bite, all of a sudden I start feeling mosquito bites all over my body and leaving the same sort of spots as the thing I saw earlier. This is where I start panicking trying to stop these bugs from biting me, my body covered in spots and in incredible pain I run out of that room onto the stair case which was moving like the ones from "harry potter". I was looking for a way out but then I got called to another room. Next thing I know I find myself at a grand dinning table with maybe 8-12 others which I can't recall except 1, a beautiful, attractive woman sat at the head of the table which I compliment her on her looks, but then next to her in the corner of the room was that thing again laying on the floor on its side like some sort of pet. This is when I get an uneasy feeling realising this woman must be some sort of demon. She starts speaking to me in a calm and sexual voice, She implies that I can have her to myself and do anything I want from her under one condition, if I make a blood pact with her, however I felt like she had evil intentions so me being me I go "FUCK NO, I AINT DOING THAT SHIT" and leave the dinner table(she seemed annoyed at this answer ) and then I woke up.
I was really worried, what if I gave into my lust and agreed to her ritual what would've happened? I'm really glad I did not make the pact but this dream still confuses me and I have speculations about the meaning of It but nothing that really stands out to me as a difinitve explanation.

Ever since my partner (M 25) and I (F 25) have started dating, his parents have been disrespectful to both of us. My partner and I live apart from them but whenever we would visit, they will take that opportunity to give us interventions and have long serious talks with us about what they don’t like. Recently they flew here to attend my partner’s graduation ceremony and they were staying for 5 days. My partner and I had to completely clear our schedules for that week to spend time with them. Throughout the week, I was not only disrespected by his parents, my presence was basically not acknowledged. His mother would talk over me and only speak to his son even though I was right there in front of her. Especially meal times when she would go “What do you want to eat son, order whatever you want to eat.”. Or when we would go shopping, she would go up to my partner and say “Pick whatever you want, I’ll buy it for you.”. The worst part of it all is at the end of the day when we would part ways. She would hug her son and say goodbye and not say a word to me. Only when I say bye to her first, she would merely look back while walking away and utter softly “bye”. That’s not it. His parents are somewhat devoted Christians while I’m not religious. My partner is nowhere as devoted but still a Christian. His mom would take the opportunity to bring religion up whenever she could. In a condescending tone she would ask “So how many times did you visit the church?”. “So are you going to go?” This has always been a difficult and uncomfortable topic for me, even though I do go with my partner at times. His dad on the other hand, is no different. In front of me he would act all nice but as soon as it was the end of their 5-day trip here, he went guns blazing. I’ll start with the first morning they were here. His mom went to the bathroom when we were having breakfast and he suddenly said “Just a piece of advice, do not speak to my son separately. We should be able hear everything you say and talk about so we don’t feel left out.”. Immediately I’m thinking, “Oh so I can’t even converse with my own partner normally when we’re hanging out with you guys.”. Going back to the end of the 5-day trip, he would make use of the group chat that we created during the trip to start nitpicking things and saying what he didn’t like about me during the trip. “We are your elders. Respect begets respect.”. First of all, I have been nothing but respectful to them throughout the entire trip even though they treat me otherwise. Even after all that they have said to me and how much they’ve expressed their dislike and how much they intimidate me, I will still respect them because they are my partner’s parents after all. But both his parents texted and said that I did not respect them at all. And when my partner asked him to clarify on what specific occasion did she disrespect you, he replied “Her body language...”. Maybe he was relating to my body language in which I was feeling scared and intimidated the whole trip. But if not, I had no recollection of being disrespectful. And to top things off, he is currently asking my partner to pull up all of his bank statements and telling my partner to write down all expenses for him to dictate whether I have been “leeching” off of my partner. My partner and I have always been sharing our expenses equally. So this is what we are currently dealing with. Any advice on how to deal with toxic in-laws/parents? My partner and I are being pushed to our limits. Even his own mom told him “I do not respect you.”.

Today I stopped by my favorite BBQ place after a long day of work. I normally get this messy pulled pork sandwich with this hot BBQ sauce, I was feeling brave today and decided to get the hottest sauce they have on it. By the time I was done eating this breath taking sandwich at home I had a bunch of this hot sauce all over my hands. Not thinking anything of it I cleaned it off well with these napkins and watched an episode of anime. After finishing the episode I decided that I deserved a nice fap to make this great day even better. About 8 mins in my dick starts feeling questionably hot. I think nothing of it and keep beating it up like it owes me money. A couple minutes later my dick is painfully on fire, extreme pain. I realized I still had remnants of the BBQ sauce on my hand, panic starts to blossom. I knew I was so close to my nut, so like any sane person would do, I fapped through the pain. 2024.05.15 05:31 kat7285 3 weeks since we lost my mom
November 29, 2023: quite literally the first sign that something might be wrong. My mom (65) had somewhat severe/persistent abdominal pain in her liver area for 2 days so decided to contact her primary care physician.
December 21, 2023: diagnosed with stage IV PC (mets to the liver). I cannot emphasize how out of the blue this diagnosis was. I know that many, many people on this feed understand this though.
January 11: 1st hospital admission due to bowel obstruction.
January 15: discharged from hospital after being under the impression GI doc was able to dislodge obstruction without surgery.
January 21: 2nd hospital admission. Bowel obstruction has returned. Cancer has spread all over the outside of her large colon (aka peritoneal disease). Ostomy surgery is done to avoid continued bowel obstructions.
January 28: discharged from hospital. Returns home, hopeful she can finally begin chemo.
February 4: suffers several “mini strokes” from (this is literally how the medical team described it to us) small pieces of the cancer breaking off and causing the strokes. Loses function in her right hand almost entirely, severely diminished use of her right leg.
February 5: 3rd hospital admission. Transferred to in patient rehabilitation to work on regaining leg and arm strength/functionality.
February 16: discharged from hospital. Can walk with a cane, right hand still severely disabled.
February 21: round 1 of chemo. Gets a 75% dosage. Nausea has been a huge issue since date of diagnosis. She hates it.
March 6: round 2 of chemo. Doesn’t go well. Nonstop throwing up. Feels awful. Decides she is no longer willing to do treatment.
March 19: CT scan to see effectiveness of chemo so far. Zero progress/cancer has continued to spread. Solidifies her decision to abandon treatment.
April 3: 4th hospital admission, declining rapidly. Decides to go on hospice.
April 5: discharged, returns home.
April 25: four months and four days following her diagnosis, my mom takes her last breath.
The days between April 5 and April 25 are a blur. The rate at which she declined is still impossible for my brain to comprehend. I am hoping that in writing out a timeline maybe I can grasp more of this as the reality it is. She was kicked down and dealt bad card after bad card immediately following her diagnosis. From my understanding, both the bowel blockages and strokes are fairly rare alongside an already ruthless cancer. The pain of watching the person I love most in this world get beat down was and continues to be indescribable.
She was the epitome of health prior to this diagnosis. Our last time together before her diagnosis was at a Broncos game on November 26, she was completely normal and happy and healthy and we had the best time. I can’t stop thinking about it. The fact that she would be dead 5 months after that day is just.. there are no words.
Pancreatic cancer follows no rules. The ability of this cancer to keep symptoms dormant until it is often times much too late is so disturbing. To anyone newly on this journey, fighting it out in the middle, newly grieving like me, or years past still grieving… my heart breaks for you. And it breaks for me.
I will miss her every single second of every single day for the rest of my life.

Do you use a specific grip (pen vs knife)? How do you manage tension? How much does your hand/arm move for a yarn over? Do you find that shorter sessions with regular breaks work well, or can you go for a while and just ice or use compression afterwards to get on top of any swelling?

Hi I’d like to ask the help of a statistician in uncovering fraud. I run a election poll company and I believe my associate committed fraud, but I need mathematical proof that he did it. Let’s start with the scenario, we have 4 political parties, we’ll call them team Red, team Green, team Orange, and team White. We ask a series of questions including what the condition of the town is, what their age group is, if they plan on voting, and if they have a voting license. On top of that we asked their preference for two political races, one for mayor and one for congressman. This is in a foreign country so it’s not your typical red versus blue battle, it is a country with four political parties, two of which are the predominant ones.
I conducted a poll consisting of 60 different people answering each questionnaires for a total of 120 interviews. He conducted research asking 100 different people to answer both questionnaires at the same time. It is crucial for me to prove without a shadow of a doubt that he committed fraud in order to be able to legally fire him. The interviews were to be conducted completely in secret. You were supposed to hand a person a paper and they would fill it out by themselves and place it in a sealed backpack so the interviewer would not see any answer. Here are the results for my associate’s poll and my poll. We polled similar spots and weren’t allowed to conduct more than 5 questionnaires in any single location.
Team Red Mayor: (41/100) 41% associate (14/60) 23% my poll
Team Green Mayor: (26/100) 26% associate (15/60) 25% my poll
Team Orange Mayor: (9/100) 9% associate (5/60) 8.33% my poll

I believe he was paid off by team Red’s candidate for mayor to skew the result in his favor but not in favor of the of the congressman as they are not in good terms. It is important to note that in his 100 interviews, the same person answered the poll for mayor and congressman, so there shouldn’t be mayor discrepancies among them.

The key thing is that not only is he missing a large chunk percentage wise of the undecided vote in his mayor poll but he’s missing almost all of the undecided votes that should be left blank. I believe he also messed with the congressman’s vote to throw us off as he still doesn’t have the percentage required of undecideds, but believe he took a few of those and spread them throughout and didn’t focus on giving them all to team Red’s candidate. As one last side note, the day after we finished the polls, team Red’s candidate for mayor publicly said that he was up in the polls and that team green was well aware of this. We had not published the results of any polls as I was skeptical of my associate’s results and even though we were hired by team green to conduct this survey, they didn’t know the actual results of the polls. I conducted a poll consisting of 60 different people answering each questionnaires for a total of 120 interviews. He conducted research asking 100 different people to answer both questionnaires at the same time. It is crucial for me to prove without a shadow of a doubt that he committed fraud in order to be able to legally fire him. The interviews were to be conducted completely in secret. You were supposed to hand a person a paper and they would fill it out by themselves and place it in a sealed backpack so the interviewer would not see any answer. Here are the results for my associate’s poll and my poll. We polled similar spots and weren’t allowed to conduct more than 5 questionnaires in any single location.

I'm trying to learn a couple songs and they're causing me pain in my right hand when playing certain parts.
The first one is Duel of the Fates when playing the main ostinato
The second one is Blackheart when playing the melody in the very beginning
It doesn't seem to be a speed issue as the pain still tends to occur even when I play slowly. It's more that it's difficult to play all the 16th notes. Especially with Blackheart where I have a play some of the notes more pronounced (being the melody) and a lot of the time it isn't always the top note, making it even more challenging
Are there any exercises, easier pieces with similar patterns, or anything else you can suggest to strengthen my hand and get rid of this pain?
