Hello everyone! I am planning to write a series of posts to share more about Jubensha. In this first post I will introduce Jubensha, a brief description on what makes it unique, and where you can play English titles.
What is Jubensha? In essence, it is a game where everyone takes a role of a main character of the story, and through conversations and investigations, attempts to solves the mystery.
This is a big craze in China and Japan, with many many titles, specialized stores, TV shows etc.
Not too long ago, People Make Games released an amazing video on Jubensha, (You can see the video here) and in this post want to give a bit more insights to this hobby.
A Mystery Detective RolePlaying Game. Generally a Jubensha starts with a incident (usually a murder) which brings all our character together. Players take the role of a single character, and goes through different phases that will include discussions, investigation and finally, voting.
The goal of players is to unravel the mystery, probably identify correctly and vote the culprit. Why the culprit (if it is within the players) is to misdirect, mislead and try to get away with their crime.
Experience the scenario as a character Personally, the unique draw of a Jubensha is that every player is interacting via their characters perspective. Similar to social deduction games, there is no need to for players pretend to ignore meta information unlike a traditional RPG.
This is done via a booklet of private information that contains a characters background, their activities, and their personal goals.Players will all read these private information before the game, and "take over" as their characters once the game starts, interacting with each other via their character's perspective and making choices with consideration of their character's personal goals.
In addition to finding the culprit, players may be searching for their lost momento (in game item), regaining the trust of their loved ones (another player), or trying to help or hinder someone (spy/traitor character).
Immersive Experience Because each player has full freedom in their conversation, and quite a lot of choice within game mechanics, there is a high roleplay potential, and emergent narrative. There can be unexpected bursts of laughers via big burns, accusations and wild theories get thrown around and absolutely memorable turn of events when lies and betrayals happens towards the end of the game.
The combination of a

• tightly woven cinematic story
• intellectual deduction
• social play
• roleplaying experience is what makes Jubensha an amazing experience each time.

Once in a life time experience It is no exaggeration to say that each game is a once in a lifetime experience because every Jubensha title is characterized by the fact that it can only be played once.
Once you've experienced a title, the story and culprit will be revealed and you will never be able to play it again.
How Jubensha is played Because of the language barrier, I will only briefly skim through how Jubensha is played in China and Japan.

Have you ever shared your deepest feelings with someone, only for them to respond with coldness or rejection? This often happens in unhealthy relationships where you give everything you have, even sacrificing your own happiness and well-being, yet receive nothing in return. The pain of loving someone who doesn't love you back is something many of us have felt. But why do we keep holding on to people who don't give us the love we need?
If we truly reflect on our feelings, we might discover that beneath the surface of our professed love lie unresolved fears and deep-seated insecurities. Ask yourself: Are you genuinely loving this person, or are you simply afraid of being alone? Is it possible that you've tied your self-worth to their love and approval?
Our unconscious mind can sometimes lead us astray. You might find yourself drawn to partners who are unavailable, almost as if you're sabotaging yourself. Why subject yourself to constant rejection? It could be because deep down, a part of you believes you don't deserve to be loved and cherished. So, you end up chasing after illusions of love that never quite materialize.
For some, being infatuated with someone who's out of reach creates a fantasy connection where you don't have to be truly vulnerable. As long as your idealized partner stays unreachable, you can avoid facing their flaws and humanity. You hold onto a perfect image that doesn't reflect reality. It might be because you're scared of opening up or being vulnerable, so instead of risking it, you stick to a fantasy and never really try to build a real relationship with them.
You might unknowingly be replaying old experiences of abandonment, rejection, or neglect from your past. Even though it hurts, being denied love by a partner who can't give it back might feel oddly familiar and even comforting in a twisted way. This repetition of familiar patterns, despite the pain they bring, can feel safer than venturing into the unknown territory of a healthy, reciprocated relationship.
So, there are a lot of reasons that may drive you to loving someone who doesn’t love you back, but that's not where the solution lies. The solution is finding the root cause that led to the development of these deeply ingrained beliefs. You've been living with these beliefs, and they've become part of your identity. You can also unlearn them and start adopting new supporting beliefs, but that requires you to do some work, far beyond what you're consciously aware of.
In the end, persistently loving those who don't love us back is a form of deep self-neglect and self-rejection. When we examine our reasons honestly, we might discover that we don't truly love the other person as much as we fear loving ourselves. It's only by cultivating strong self-worth that we can free ourselves to let go and make room for someone who will truly appreciate the unique gift of who we are.

I recently built a PC with these components, except the RAM was originally the G.Skill Trident Z5 with all the same properties. After four days, I installed Baldur's Gate 3 and after loading in the game crashed. Then after playing about ten minutes I got a blue screen.
This issue continued at a very regular basis for the next week or so while playing Final Fantasy XIV. Sometimes my game would crash, sometimes I would get a BSOD, and sometimes my computer would simply restart without indication. (I even got a BSOD during the cutscene between P5 and P6 of TOP if that means anything to anyone.) I also got a BSOD during a meeting with my research advisor while running single-core Mathematica code. The dmp files, stop codes, and Windows Memory Diagnostic suggested a RAM issue, so I used it as an excuse to replace my RAM with the no RGB smaller version I preferred.
This did not seem to fix the issue, as just today I got another BSOD while watching a stream on discord and searching things on my browser. I have also attempted a windows fix using the option "Fix problems using Windows Update."
I was planning on uploading a zip file with all of my .dmp files from the blue screens, but for whatever reason my minidump folder seems to be gone. Perhaps they all disappeared after the "fix problems using Windows Update" thing. I realize that makes this way harder to troubleshoot, but hopefully the following stop codes can provide some insight.

This last stop code comes from after replacing my RAM. I received many other BSODs, but I was not able to take a photo of the screen in time.
Other potentially related issues include sometimes having to restart my computer after waking from sleep due to freezing on the startup screen before inputting a PIN, and being unable to open image files in the windows Photos application due to a file system error.

This skips the step of converting .bin and .cue files to .chd, a limitation of using macOS. I assume this also works on Windows as well. Even though the guide is specific for Final Fantasy Tactics, it should apply to other multi-disk/multi-file PS games for the patching and installation processes.

Hello friends!
I am searching for a DM that would be interested in running a long term, weekly campaign for three to four players. I had some previous success with one that I met through lfg/ and they were amazing, lots of fun was had and truthfully it's an experience I miss and thoroughly enjoyed, sadly due to their personal commitments things naturally came to an end, but I'm still very much interested, as is the rest of the group I am with, in finding a new DM.
I would love if there's somebody available with a little experience with online systems, but it is not entirely a necessity. While I like that people are able to make a job out of being a DM, I'm really looking for somebody that's willing to do it for free who's wanting to find a group of friends they're more than welcome to hang out with.
Our group consists of people that are avid enjoyers of roleplay and voice acting, we all like getting into character and immersing ourselves. I've recently created a character sheet and backstory on D&D Beyond, but I'm also happy to create another which fits any given D&D campaign (Homebrew campaigns included). We have some experience with Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds, though might need a refresher with some of the interface since we haven't played as a group for around four years now. I also hear Foundry VTT is great and would be happy to try that as well.
The three of us currently confirmed are from the ranges of 29 - 36 years old. We're a multinational group, with my partner and I currently living in the UK while others are living in the States. We run on fairly similar schedules which can be discussed if there's interest.

I just recently re-watched all these, and while it would be impossible to watch them in any time period without noticing the elements of Right Wing fantasy at work, the fantasy has only become more awkward in the 5 to 10 years. I was curious about how the politics of the films were perceived in their time, and some cursory research shows that even back then they were pretty divisive. But I think certainly after events like George Floyd's murder, the larger national dialog about misuse of police force, and the 'thin blue line' rhetoric that emerged as a reaction to it, if anything I think the films have gotten harder to watch.
Of course the first reaction you'll encounter when discussing the politics of this series is the typical "but they're just movies" type sentiment. And of course they are. But I'd argue that no one could be even halfway paying attention while watching these and fail to see the agenda. There are just too many heavy-handed clues - these might be some of the least subtle scripts ever written. There's one scene in the first film where the DA literally has to explain to Harry (a detective) how evidence works. The audience is expected to believe that Harry would be genuinely perplexed as to why his actions ruined the prosecution's case, and we're clearly meant to share his feelings that our justice system is stupid for having these protections in place. It's impossible to imagine a non-political justification for such a scene.
But what I do find interesting about the series is that there are also plenty of moments where the politics get blurry. At times it feels like the films become aware of the message they're spinning and try to talk their way out of it. The first unmistakable example in the series is probably where Harry is asked how he feels about Mexicans, after one of his co-workers (in a slur-laden line) lists all the ethnicities that Harry supposedly hates equally, to which Harry replies with a wink "especially spics." It's these moments I find the most interesting, because it becomes less clear how we're supposed to take them. The wink itself saves the scene, because it at least validates the possible interpretation that Harry isn't really a racist, that he's not the kind of guy who would use the term "spic" unironically. On the other hand, this idea of "hating everyone equally" is a concept I don't know if the film invented or has since been thoroughly co-opted by real life racists who confuse their own racism for bonafide misanthropy, or at least when it's convenient.
Suffice it to say, the series is littered with such moments, and I found myself sort of enjoying how clumsily it plays with moral ambiguity. Sometimes we veer more satisfyingly into a position where we can interpret this as character complexity on Harry's part. For example, in the second film, he comes up against a group of vigilante biker cops and we find that he's actually not as sympathetic to their methods as they (and we) might have thought. Other times we get the genuine sense that the script really is at odds with itself. The article I link to above does a pretty good job of summarizing the contradictions at work in the series, and I like the observation that the series itself seems to be uncomfortable with its own politics, because I think it was something that nagged at me during this most recent viewing but I hadn't myself put that fine of a point on it.
At this point I'll conclude by saying that I actually do enjoy these movies and Eastwood's performance. In a way I think Sudden Impact is the best film of the series, although it's hard to argue with how much of a classic the first film is. While there are moments in some of them that are legit cringe-worthy for reasons already mentioned, they're solidly entertaining and I enjoy re-watching them every so often. The soundtracks are also bangers.
