The Nothing But Net fantasy GM league is looking for new front office members for multiple teams that have openings.
As a member of the NBN, you will join one of the 30 front offices as an Owner, GM, Head Coach, or consultant, and work with other members of your FO to build your roster and compete for a championship over the years. This is a slow-paced but lively and extremely in-depth fantasy league where you will act as a front office with responsibilities such as drafting new talent, making trades, signing free agents, and coaching settings (all in NBA2K)

We launched in a crowded market (bio link page builders) and were strangely going well and getting more confident about our product (liw.bio) and our journey.
Two weeks ago, we celebrated our first paying customer (that was an unexpected accomplishment haha!), yesterday we reached 103 users to be more specific.
Here is how we did (and we’re still doing!):

1. Launching the MVP as quickly as possible

We’re working on building and launching products as fast as possible since we don’t have any investment (we’re still bootstrapped). The faster we launch and validate, the less stressful the journey will be.

1. Facebook groups

We’re in several business Facebook (meta) groups, and we used that as a channel for acquiring a couple of users. That’s it. (Sorry if I’m being short).

1. Reddit communities

We did something new (new to us): we went to most of the Reddit posts where people were talking about using “link in bio” and started commenting (not spamming!) while also sharing your insightful thoughts.

1. First product’s newsletter

We used our newsletter (made from our first product’s users) to promote our new product. (To be honest, this still doesn’t work as we expected, maybe because of their interest 🤔 we’re still learning by the way).

1. WhatsApp groups, Slack and Discord channels

That’s it. Reach out to our friends and social circle not only to acquire them as users but to get their feedback. (It helps with encouragement and insightful input).

1. ProductHunt

Our producthunt launch worked, though we were only the 6th product of the day. This helped us reach more than 20 users in one day.
What’s next?
We have decided to focus on what works and double down on that until we reach through other channels: TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We’re still learning!

Hey all, my name is Mo. Our kind moderators gave me the green light to post this about 45 days ago, but I have been mulling over it, so please bear with me.
As some of you know, living in a heavily populated city like NYC has loads of benefits, but it also comes with a few annoying setbacks, such as the difficulty of making long-term or interesting friends who share similar interests or backgrounds as you get older. Not being from here can make it even more challenging.
With books like Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community and Out of My Skull: The Psychology of Boredom coupled up with these 2 articles: Want to Make a New Friend? How Much Money Have You Got? & The Loneliness of the American Worker that I recently read from the Wall Street Journal. I got super fired up about posting this. Things are getting worse out there, & as someone who’s into sports, it’s a little challenging to find people who are able & willing to watch or go to games, let alone be friends with them.
So, I am a 29-year-old black male lurker here. With the aim of stepping out of my comfort zone & meeting new people to develop long-term friendships with, I purchased 3 full-season memberships for the NY Liberty, NY/NJ GothamFC, & NYCFC. I’m looking for female & male friends around my age (25–35ish). I don’t think I have a number as to how many friends I am looking for, but let’s just go ahead & say maybe 10 females & 10 males to even things out. Please keep in mind that this is not an R4R post & is very NYC-based sports team-related. I noticed that on Reddit, women’s posts about friendship tend to get more engagements & answers, so hopefully this gets some traction & I get to e-meet new people that I can physically meet in real life on a biweekly or even monthly basis. I’m looking for people around the same age, as I don’t have lots of NYC-based friends in general. I currently work as a social worker. Little fun fact about me: almost everything I own or wear is grey/gray but my favorite color is red. I live alone. I don’t drink alcohol, & I don’t smoke/vape. No substance use at all, but I’m open to being friends with people who do these things as long as they aren't around me when doing so. I don’t play video games; I don’t stream. I have them, but I don’t necessarily use mainstream social media. Loneliness is a b-word & I can be a homebody & a bit reserved sometimes. I consider myself to be a sapiosexual, so evidently I am an avid audiobookworm—I have listened to 75 books so far this year through my Libby & Audible apps (a few of my favorites would be: Ikigai, Feminism is for Everybody, The Art of Logic in an Illogical World, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, I am Not Sydney Poitier, The Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao & Heartburn). I try to listen to a book a month. I closely follow and like to talk about international and national politics. I think I get bored easily, so I like to talk & have meaningful conversations. It doesn’t have to be “deep conversation,” but something that can stimulate and challenge my brain & point of view. My apology language is planned change, & my love language is quality time (doing something) so I am looking for platonic female & male friends that I can go to games with & spend quality time with doing other things that we have in common as well. The Copa America and the Euro are starting soon. Let’s not forget the World Cup. I live in Canarsie, Brooklyn, & I drive, so maybe we can tag along to games sometimes, etc. I have an ACE score of 1. One social cause that I am passionate about is homelessness. I have a fear of heights. I'm very big on respecting people's personal space & boundaries, so I don't like people who are always late. Around the right person, I am stupidly funny but can be too blunt sometimes; therefore, one thing that I started doing is checking in & asking to see if I have said anything unkind, mean, rude, or condescending to whoever I’m talking to, and if so, I ask what they are so I can be cognizant of them, & I also ask the person if they feel heard, understood, & respected after apologizing & talking about what I said or did that bothered them. I looooove football (soccer). My favorite teams are Argentina, Barcelona, Manchester City, Inter Milan, PSG, Borussia Dortmund, NYCFC, & NY/NJ GothamFC, as mentioned above. Obviously, the Libs are the best WNBA team out there. I like to think of myself as someone who’s securely-anxious in friendship. My spirit animal is a bull. I am open-minded, so I am willing to learn & compromise. I am not diagnosed with any mental or physical illnesses. I'm all about the simple pleasures in life. I have tried making friends in real life—in person through un/paid events, etc.—but people are madly flaky & aren’t committed to a friendship…Anyway, enough said—I am looking forward to making meaningful connections with you here, & if there's something specific that you'd like to know about me, then please do not hesitate to ask, or you can organically find out when we start getting to know each other in person!

Let me start by saying, given the sheer amount of time and effort I've put into obtaining this small piece of paper, it has immediately become one of my most prized possessions.
Backstory:
I'm 25 years old with a history of absence seizures and treatment between the ages of 7-12 years old. Also, I have dysgraphia (poor handwriting) through school.
My Application Process
I started this journey back in June 2021 after wrapping up my junior year of college. Despite knowing about my medical history, I naively visited my local AME without any preparation and applied for my 3rd class medical. In hindsight, and as many people recommend, I should have come prepared with documents, tests, and sign-offs from my neurologist. Without much surprise, I was deferred and entered the limbo that is FAA OKC.
Four months later, in October 2021, I heard back. The new letter required I complete the following:

• A neurological evaluation from my doctor
• An awake and asleep EEG
• An MRI with and without contrast
• Fill out a seizure questionnaire and gather all medical documents and history relating to my condition

Given I was in the middle of wrapping up my senior year of college in a very rural town, I was in no place to start this. I didn't reply and received another letter stating that my application was on hold until I provided the requested information.
In August 2022, after graduating and getting a job, I finally got around to scheduling the procedures and gathering the documents. Everything was relatively easy to order with the help of my doctor. The only issue I ran into was that the FAA had requested the actual files of the EEG on a CD for Windows 10, but the hospital could only provide Windows 7 software and shrugged their shoulders when asked if there was a newer version. Additionally, I had read through my medical documents and discovered a typo in one of the medical reports, which noted I was drinking 2-3 drinks a day, not a week as I had said. I reached out to the doctor who had made this note, and they added a follow-up message to the report. After everything was complete, and with a little note explaining the software snag, I sent off the package in late September 2022.
Six months later, in April 2023, I heard back. This time, not with a medical, but with another list of tasks. The new list included:

• A 10-panel drug screen within 48 hours of signing for the letter
• A weed & alcohol questionnaire
• Documents regarding my dysgraphia, including IEPs, 504s, and accommodations And the worst part:
• A full ADHD test with a drug screen within 24 hours of completion

The first three made sense, given they were all in my medical history. Before I went off to college, I had asked my neurologist if it was safe to use weed recreationally. Even though I never did, I'm guessing that's what triggered the response.
The ADHD request, however, took me by surprise. Even to this day, I have no idea what triggered the request. I've never had any history of it or even the thought of it. My best guess is that one of the epilepsy medications I took doubles as an ADHD drug. Unfortunately, they never tell you why.
The ADHD battery was the most expensive out of all this. I searched all around my area (Seattle, WA) and found quotes ranging from $2000 to $4000. I ended up going with a doctor who'd be the cheapest if I only did the first battery but more expensive if I had to do both. Since I don't have ADHD, I figured I could probably roll the dice.
I delayed the ADHD test for a long time as I wasn't sure if it would be worth the cost, given I could jump through all these hoops and likely get a Special Issuance requiring me to do this every year to maintain. Since I only have aspirations for a PPL, the maintenance cost wouldn't be worth it for me. Finally, I decided to bite the bullet and see it through. I got the ADHD battery done in mid-February of this year and passed with flying colors. I wrapped up the second package and sent it off in mid-April 2024.
I called weekly throughout this process to check on my status—always "in review" with no luck. Early this month, I read another post on here talking about reaching out to your congressional representative to contact the FAA on your behalf and having good success. I decided it was worth a shot and sent them a message on May 14th.
Two weeks later (today!), I got my medical in the mail!
The Results
I got issued a standard 3rd class medical with no SI clauses attached!
The only ironic part is that since I started this almost two years ago, this medical expires in just a few weeks. Luckily, it sounds like renewing an existing medical is much easier than applying for a new one.
I'm over the moon, and while I haven't even started gaining hours, I'm still so happy I saw this through. Thank you to this community for all the resources it has provided and for all the awesome people who hang out and give their time.

My 2 other killifish died, so now my female Austral is alone in my community tank, and I think she's quite stressed ? She doesn't swim a lot and seems a bit lethargic.
I'm hesitant to get new killifish for her company as I have a community tank with a 6 to 7 PH levels, but never lower as I have also tetras, corydoras and a molly in the same tank.
Should I get her a new male mate?

Background: My mother has always been an alcoholic and codependent on men her whole life (Grey Goose Vodka being her drink of chose). Every man she had chosen including my father were all physically and mentally abusive to her. She dated this one guy for four years when I was a young teenager that used to psychologically mess with mine and my brother’s head to make sure we understood that we were just their little slaves who were only good for cleaning the house and washing cars. We weren’t allowed to just be kids. Mom always treated me and my brother like inconveniences in her life. When we were kids, she would flick cigarettes on the ground and she would watch as we picked them up off the ground for her. Otherwise she would completely isolate herself from us and never come out of her room where she drank herself to sleep at night.
I always gave her grace. Always forgave her for treating me less than her own flesh and blood. She never let me confine in her or come to her for anything because she would tell me I should “just get over it.” Or that it was my fault for one reason or another. Despite that though, I continued to give her the benefit of the doubt and loved her anyways. I always thought that maybe she loved me and didn’t know how to show it. Now as an adult in my late 20s, I was just starting to detach from her emotionally thinking that it was best for me to finally move on and break free from her abuse.
Fast forward to two months ago:
My mom had gotten super drunk and had been having arguments/ fights with my current step-dad. Well something happened and she suffered a massive head trauma to the brain. A Careflight helicopter had to get her from her house. She had no pulse and they worked on her the entire way to the hospital. Their home actually became a potential crime scene because they saw she had fucking bruises all over her body. My stepfather is under investigation for possibly causing the injury. It is confirmed he has physically abused both by kicking her and punching her on her arms and legs but there is not hard evidence that he caused the brain injury.
My mom had to undergo not one but two brain surgeries because the head trauma had caused intense bleeding in her brain and they had found fractures of her skull in her brain. They had these two brain tubes that went straight into her head to drain the loose blood out. She was like that for two weeks. The doctors said she was lucky to be alive. They also said that they believed my step-father did it because there was no way a person could cause that themselves.
Well a few days went by and something went terribly wrong. They pulled the tubes from her head and she started going into shock. She went unconscious and I was there freaking out thinking she was going to die before my eyes. The doctors had me leave the room and I had a terrible meltdown right there in one of the hallways at the hospital. She ended up surviving the surgery again.
The doctors had to cauterize a main artery in the brain this time. Luckily, they saw she had lots of healthy arteries so they were willing to take the risk.
She was in a coma after that for a whole week. One day during that week we were going to have a meeting on whether it was time to let her go. But the day before the meeting she woke up from the coma. It was another miracle. She would get better every day after that. She eventually got into Rehab early May.
While all of this is happening, I did all of mom’s insurance claims and talked with the investigator on mom’s case. I did all of her medical paperwork and did everything I could to protect her. During her stay at the hospital, my step-father wasn’t allowed to see her at the hospital. All the doctors in that hospital that worked on her case said they believed he did it. He had to have an armed guard with him during visitation.
Unfortunately, before she could be admitted to the new rehab facility, the Director of the facility said the only way they will take her in is if I agreed to let my step-father have free rein to come and go as he pleases because they don’t have the security staff to escort him and he is not technically convicted yet. I reluctantly agreed because what other choice did I have? She had to have rehab.
Well, my step-father has been with her now the entire time she has been in rehab. Brainwashing her into believing he didn’t do it (because she doesn’t remember how the accident happened). She has admitted several times he had hit her but her memory is so fragile that she doesn’t remember admitting his abuse to the doctors. That then told me about it. (They still won’t do anything about it ironically)
The doctors are suggesting she go to another rehab in the next two weeks that is supposed to be good for psychiatric treatment. My step-father doesn’t want her to go because maybe the truth will come out. So he has convinced her not to go.
Fast forward again two weeks later:
I went to go see my mom. She immediately asked, “what do you want” like I was already unwanted in her eyes. I had waited an hour for her in her room at the rehab while her and my-stepfather got done eating at the cafe downstairs before they finally headed back to her room. I didn’t feel comfortable talking with my stepfather around but mom said “whatever you want to say to me you can say in front of my husband”.
I tried to ask her why she didn’t want to go to the other rehab to get treatment for her alcoholism (which apparently my step-father already convinced her not to go). That she made me a promise to make better decisions for herself like getting psychiatric treatment which she could get at this next rehab. I told her I watched her die and be brought back to life and was with her the whole month she was at the hospital taking care of her. I did all her medical paperwork, and had next of kin rights to make the best decisions for her then.
She said, “okay so?” That’s what I got from her after thinking I had lost her and took care of her all that time.
My stepfather tried to cut me off while I was talking and I said "I wasn’t talking to you I was talking to my mother."
So then he immediately went and got a staff member to have me thrown out. Literally thrown out of the facility. Mom was fine with it and told me to “leave and goodbye forever”…. I am having to let her go and wrap my head around the fact that she is choosing her husband over me “again.”
She doesn’t want me in her life anymore even though I have been through everything with her and gave her all the love I could give another person but its too much of a sacrifice for me to continue doing that for a person who will never appreciate or love me the way I loved her. All the years of pain she has caused me I was willingly to forgive her because I love her so much. Turns out it means nothing to her and I have to live the rest of my life getting over that.
The staff (I think the acting head nurse) didn’t even ask me anything about what was going on and just had me thrown out without question. I don’t know what my step-father told them but he convinced them I was trouble enough to kick out. He has managed now to keep my grandmother and me away from her.
My grandmother can no longer visit because she was borrowing my mom's car (which she was fine with at first) then my stepfather went to where my grandmother lives and stole the care back without my grandmother knowing (he had a spare key). Her purse was still in the car because she was going to run some errands and had left it. He drove off and when my grandmother came back she had no car and her purse was stolen. He must have had a friend or one of his sons drive the car that my step-father was in for him to have driven it off. The next day I found out about it, he told me to go get her purse from the car and return it to her myself.
This rehab facility let my stepfather run around and do whatever he wanted. Now he's calling all the shots and brainwashing her to believe that nobody is on her side but him, while simultaneously driving away all her loved ones.
The investigator doesn’t know if they have enough evidence to support his conviction but it may be months or years if ever that happens. All the while, my mother is blind to anything other than my stepfather giving her a toxic relationship of codependency and abuse. She is willing to allow her husband to kick me out of her rehab.
I am done overextending my love and time on the worst people on planet earth. It doesn’t make it any less painful as it is my mother but a mother who has been the most selfish person imaginable. I have learned that there are just bad people in this world. Even those that are supposed to love you the most. And I can break the chain by starting a family of my own one day and give my children the love and attention they deserve unconditionally.

I was diagnosed with Raynaud's around age 12/13. I have been having some serious circulation issues the past few months and I'm guessing it's going to be a heart condition and it's making my Raynaud's flare to the extreme. Does a later in life diagnosis then turn it into Raynaud's phenomena? Or is it still just Raynaud's? The nurse today just kept saying "You're skin is discolored blue and purple in patches everywhere. Upper legs, upper arms. It's takes over 5 seconds for your skin to turn from white to red when I touch it." She laughed when I told her I was secretly an oompa loompa. Anyone else have heart issues midlife that can just, send some useful info on whats next? I'm a bit scared if I'm being honest.

Hey everyone!
I'll just start by saying I am using my throwaway account for this post, but am very happy to give out my personal account to anyone interested!
But that out of the way, I'm a 22 year old guy from Kent, UK. I'm at the point in my life now where I'm making alot of progress on alot of different things, and I'm getting excited for it, but have no one to share it with. I'm looking for that person I can just share anything with, and I'd hope you'd do the same with me.
I want a very mutually beneficial relationship. One where we both support each other in happiness and health, and can grow alongside each other, and not because of one another.
My main interests right now are programming and game development. I'm a self taught solo game developer and have been working on a passion project for a couple of years now. I really love the work, especially when it comes to the world design and visuals. Art has always been important to me, and 3D stylised environments are my favourite way to show it.
I also Stream on twitch pretty frequently. This is not something I plan on continuing long term. But right now, it's been good to work more on my self confidence and to also meet new people. My self esteem has improved significantly since starting my streaming, and I've built a small community of cool people.
I mentioned my self confidence because it is important to know where I'm at with that. So I'm actually doing good now. I really like myself as a person. I'm proud of the progress I've made, and I'm excited to continue making improvements. That said, I did spend the longest time having the worst possible self esteem. I quit school when I was 15 because my anxiety was so bad. And I also really delayed myself learning alot of life skills. I'm 4 years into adult life but feel like I've only just entered it is what I'm saying.
I'm always working to improve this aspect of myself. Currently my focus in this aspect is getting the basic qualifications I missed out on when I quit school. I recently got my math GCSE and am working towards English. My end goal is to take a mental health nursing course at university, as mental health is something I'm very passionate about.
Some other things that are important to me are traveling and guitar. I have never travelled but I really really want to. So huge plus if you're interested aswell. I especially want to visit Brazil, and I'm slowly teaching myself Brazilian Portuguese. And guitar is something I just want to learn for myself. I have a guitar. Had it for about a year now. Cannot play it though :)))). I haven't taken the time to learn it yet, but it's something I want to be able to do. Currently addicted to cage the elephant so I'd love to be able to play some of their songs.
To end this I just want to leave a brief comment on something incase you scrolled through my profile. I am very interested in kink, and it is something important to me. It's not a deal breaker if it's not your thing. But it would be something to be discussed. I don't want to go into details about kink and stuff here.
