2024.05.29 05:50 SamePlatform9287 Skills needed to be a VA - beginner and no experience

Hi! I currently have a full time job as a Payroll in a small size company here in PH. Been working here for 8 years na kaso company is close to going bankrupt so might lose mg job anytime soon so I am trying to look for a new job. I’m planning to try VA jobs as a side hustle first habang di pa ako natatanggal, and ituloy ko na as a full time pag mawalan na ako ng work.
Ask ko lang anong skills ang maganda or in demand when looking for a job as a VA? Anong websites or YT channels maganda kumuha ng new skills?
The only skill I have is i know excel pero I would not say I am an expert. I mostly know the basic stuff kasi yun gamit namin sa office. Pero I’m willing to learn more naman din. Marunong din akk mag canva pero I don’t know if it’s helpfull skill lol.
The thing is, I wanna expand my skills too. Gusto ko din matry mag web design and learn mag code. Or do I need to go through a 2 / 4 year course to learn that?
Thank you po in advance!

2024.05.29 05:28 chitheinsanechibi 29/05/2024 - Turns out my 'flexible' job isn't so flexible after all.

For the past couple of years I have been working part-time at a local taxi company. The biggest part of my role is processing the 'takes' of our drivers, making sure the cash they hand in is the correct amount, checking to see if they've correctly put through subsidy cards etc. It's glorified data-entry because I'm copying off a physical piece of paper into a spreadsheet and then checking to make sure stuff lines up. And then entering totals into another spreadsheet so the drivers can be paid their commissions. I have also been handling the weekly payroll for our wage staff.
It's been great because it's within school hours, so I generally start after my daughter goes to school and am usually done most days by lunchtime.
However I have missed days because I also suffer from chronic migraines and of course sitting in front of a screen is hell on earth when they happen. And unfortunately for the past couple of months I've been having at least 1 really bad one a week and have had to call in.
Today the boss called me into his office and gently told me that maybe it's time I consider seeking employment elsewhere. Because he needs someone in the office on certain days and he knows that my health issues are pretty much beyond my control, but he has a business to run plus he's going to be automating a LOT of the stuff I'm doing so there just won't BE work for me to do blah blah blah.
I'm devastated. He told me to try not to internalize what he was saying, but with my upbringing, I can't HELP internalizing anything negative. I literally grew up feeling never good enough and this just reinforces that core belief. That as soon as I stop being 'useful' I'm able to be discarded.
I know I'm really privileged. My husband and I are fortunate enough to be in a position where I don't need to work, but it was nice having something that got me out of the house, gave me a purpose. Plus it was nice having a little extra money so I could buy little surprises, or treat myself without feeling guilty that I was spending the money my husband earned (he didn't mind, at ALL, it was my own hangup).
I've had a quick peek at a couple of job-hunting websites and honestly there aren't a lot of great options for me, because I need to be able to still do the school run (especially since I've now gone no contact with my dad who was basically the only other person available to do it). Weekend work would be hard to manage because my husband is often away at events for his photography side business, so not only would I not have the car, there would be no one to take care of my daughter.
So yeah, I don't know what I'm going to do. My boss hasn't given me a definite 'final day' but he wants me to give him an update on my job search 'within a month'.
I guess I could try to find some sort of volunteer position. Or maybe I'll finally have a real attempt at writing the novel I've been sporadically trying to write for the last 10 years.
This is probably some sort of opportunity, but right now it's hard to see it that way. Right now I just feel so small and inadequate. And to add insult to injury, I definitely have a migraine coming on because emotional stress and heavy crying is 100% one of my triggers.
Guess I'll take some painkillers/migraine meds and crawl into bed with an ice pack.

[Earnings] Faraday Future Announces Fiscal Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2023 Financial Results
Recently, we’ve seen a dramatic revaluation of our stock by the market. In our view, we believe the stock was previously undervalued, and we welcome this adjustment. This revaluation has drawn the attention of many investors, as we continue to pursue additional significant strategic investors in the Middle East and throughout the world. We believe this will meaningfully reduce future dilution caused by additional equity-linked security financing. Equipment- and IP-backed financing are also being investigated, and we look forward to potentially reducing our reliance on dilutive funding.
-- Jonathan Maroko, Interim CFO of Faraday Future
  • Company Transformed Business to Production and Revenue-Generation Phase with FF 91 2.0 EV in 2023.
  • Realized Revenue for 2023 and Reduced Operating Loss, Cash Used In Operating Activities, while improving Composition of Balance Sheet as Compared With Fiscal 2022.
  • Company Committed to increased production and deliveries while maintaining financial discipline.
  • Continues Pursuit of Additional Significant Strategic Investors to Drive Future Growth.

LOS ANGELES, California, May 28, 2024 -- Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. (Nasdaq: FFIE) (“FF”, “Faraday Future”, or “Company”), a California-based global shared intelligent electric mobility ecosystem company, today announced its financial results for its fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2023.
RESULTS FOR FOURTH QUARTER 2023 AND FULL YEAR 2023
For fiscal 2023, FF produced its first year of revenue as well as a reduced operating loss, and cash used in operating activities, while improving the composition of its balance sheet, as compared with fiscal 2022. These results achieved through major cost reductions and cost discipline
FF reported revenue of $0.8 million for 2023 and cost of goods sold of $43 million, compared with no revenue and cost of goods sold in 2022. This reflects that the Company only began delivering vehicles in the third quarter 2023. Loss from operations was $286 million for 2023, as compared to a loss from operations of $437 million for 2022. The change was due to a significant reduction in operating expenses which registered $244 million in 2023 compared to $437 million in 2022. The improvement in operating expenses for the year was primarily due to lower research and development expenses as the Company completed product development and transitioned to fulfilling sales through manufacturing and production. Net loss improved to $432 million for 2023, as compared to $602 million for 2022.
Total assets on December 31, 2023, were $531 million, compared to $529 million as of December 31, 2022. Total liabilities were $302 million, versus $328 million on December 31, 2022.
Net cash used in operating activities for 2023 was $278 million compared to $383 million in 2022. Capital expenditures were $31 million for 2023 compared to $123 million for 2022.
Cash balance at December 31, 2023, was $4 million, including restricted cash of $2 million. This compares to cash of $17 million at December 31, 2022. As of May 23, 2024, the Company’s cash position was approximately $5 million, which includes restricted cash of $2 million.
To support future growth the Company continues to pursue additional significant strategic investors to support future growth. It also is considering equipment- and IP-backed financing to potentially reduce reliance on dilutive funding. The Company does not plan to issue additional shares unless and until the Company receives shareholder approval to increase total authorized share count.
“2023 was a milestone year for FF. We transitioned to a phase of growth that focuses on production and revenue generation, establishing FF’s position in the ultra-luxury and high-performance EV market,” said Matthias Aydt, Global CEO of Faraday Future. “Looking forward, I am excited by the future as we remain steadfast in our pursuit of growth through efficiency and the new markets we entered in 2023. We remain dedicated to elevating both our product strength and stockholder value.”
KEY COMPANY HIGHLIGHTS DURING 2023
FF launched a leasing program with Luxury Lease Partners, obtained a Bureau of Automotive Repair license, activated a home charging installation program, and rolled out a public charging program. These initiatives are designed to provide a seamless and customer-focused experience for our users.
The Company also announced potential entry into the Middle East market late last year. This included strategic cooperation agreements with Master Investment Group and Siraj Holding LLC. Entry into the Middle East would add a third leg to the Company’s geographic strategy that includes the U.S. and China.
FF also agreed to a collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) to bring generative AI and advanced intelligent electric vehicle capabilities to the UAE’s Smart and Autonomous Vehicles Industry (SAVI) cluster.
OUTLOOK
Given current market conditions and current levels of funding the Company is withdrawing its production target guidance for 2024.

2024.05.28 21:52 humanimalistic A CEO approached me with a very questionable Marketing job. Has anyone heard/been approached by this company or a company like this?

The CEO approached me on Linkedin regarding a Digital Marketing role at his company (Pro Cloud Marketing Group: https://procloudmarketing.com/ ).
I've had multiple long calls with this guy. He liked my background and wanted to onboard me as a Regional Marketing Account Manager instead. I realized that instead of an employment, I will be an independent contractor to a franchise resell/white-label company, I was fine with that.
Although throughout all those long calls he's always been vague when I asked how his CRM was engineered, how many people are in the company, how large is the client base, and when I can have the onboarding meeting/interview with them.
He's giving me unusual and too-good-to-be-true undertakings. These are some questionable things I'm quite torn about: 1. He wants to build a base in the Bay Area since his headquarters is in a co-working space located in Ontario, CA. 2. He wants me to manage his outsourcing connection in Asia since I speak the language. I contacted this small firm and they did confirm their partnership with him, but when I asked for a coffee chat to learn more about how we will be working together, they ghosted me. I got a voicemail from this CEO and asked me why I did that and to call him immediately. 3. He said that I would man a team of 20-50 (which are mostly outsourced from Asia and Nigeria) people who will do everything from graphic design, web hosting, and client acquisition, almost promising me that I wouldn't have to do much leg work aside from managing the accounts and creating the full stack marketing campaign as long as I'm using this CRM. 4. Once I have my team, he will set me up with an LLC under my name where the company will basically be white-labeled as my own. I'm not very well-versed in business and I am confused in terms of how the FTB fees, taxes, outsourced employees payroll, etc. I asked and he said the same, he would explain further after I signed up. 5. He gave me a list of co-working spaces that I can choose, where the company will pay for me. 6. He sent me a text message that his product is an affiliate government grant. I visited this grant website and it just looked so sus. He asked to scroll down to this page from the website which is strikingly similar to Pro Cloud Marketing's official site; copywriting where almost every word starts with capital letters, and video format. So I called the number on this website to confirm its government affiliation, and he answered, I couldn't hear him well so I asked what his name was (CEO's name), and I said, hey it's me – he hung up. 5. This isn't a paid position. It's commission-based only; "uncapped" commission to be precise according to him. I tried to negotiate an hourly until I finished the "training", and he agreed but he was also very vague about how it works and could only explain everything else once I officially signed up for the application:
On the application form on the said website, he asked to fill in the following:
Answer these questions to complete the application:
Tell us about your digital marketing education, skills and experience?
Please share your 3 most recent Digital Marketing Tasks that you have completed
Have You Visited the Pro Cloud Marketing Website? (procloudmarketing.com)
Did you watch the "Marketing Strategy Webinar Video Replay" on the website?
What interest you the most about joining the Pro Cloud Marketing Group Team?
Please Upload your Resume
How did you hear about the Digital Marketing Account Manager Position?
Are You Willing to be Trained & Certified as a Pro Cloud Marketing Specialist?
Payroll: Bank Account Wiring - Please Share Your Bank Routing & Account Number
Upload A Copy of Your Signed W8-BEN or I-9 Independent Contractor Form
Upload A Copy of Your Government Issued Personal ID Identification Card
Upload A Copy of Your Signed Independent Contractor Agreement
Upload A Copy of Your Signed Authorized Software Reseller License Agreement
Upload A Copy of Your Signed Web Hosting Reseller Agreement
Has anyone done and worked for anything like this setup? What has it been like? What do you think of the company if you've seen my links here? If I am just paranoid, and they are actually legit, should I give it a shot? Would you personally give it a shot?
I appreciate any advice!

2024.05.28 20:32 vickyjensen11 Time Theft: The Hidden Killer of Remote Work Productivity (and How to Stop It)

The contemporary workforce is becoming increasingly remote, and companies need new ideas to make it productive. Although time tracking is still essential, concentrating only on the hours worked can be the opposite, as it can be counterproductive.
Talygen presents you with a set of all-inclusive tools, such as stealth employee monitoring software, that will help businesses track productivity and get useful information about work patterns and areas that need improvement.
That said, remote teams have their own set of problems to deal with. It is quite challenging to keep the employees concentrated and responsible when they are in different cities. Besides, the process of making sure that tasks are done in the most efficient way and the identification of areas for development is not just time monitoring. This gives birth to the idea of "time theft." Time Theft is a concept that deals with the unacknowledged expense of time.

Time Theft and the "Tricks of the Trade"

Time theft is a term for any action an employee takes during paid work hours unrelated to their job duties. This can be done in different ways, such as taking long breaks, doing personal errands, using social media, or going on online shopping sprees.
According to a report by the American Payroll Association, time theft costs U.S. businesses $490 billion a year. Thus, the average is $3,800 per employee! Apart from the financial consequences, time theft can also lower the morale of the employees and disturb the smooth flow of the team's work. Thus, it causes a chain reaction of the work results to go to the opposite side, which in turn slows down business productivity.
Unfortunately, some employees use various methods to bypass traditional time tracking software. Let's explore some common tactics:
These methods can distort data collected by traditional time tracking software, making it challenging to identify areas for improvement and hindering efforts to optimize workflows.

Talygen’s Silent Activity Tracking Software: A Smarter Approach to Employee Management

Talygen offers a comprehensive suite of tools that address the challenges of time theft and go beyond simple time tracking. Here's how:
Using these tools in conjunction, Talygen creates a more accurate picture of work output and identifies areas for improvement beyond the hours worked.

In Conclusion

Time theft is a serious problem for traditional and remote businesses, but it can be a productivity booster with the proper tools and approach. Talygen's full package provides a more intelligent way of managing employees, from time tracking to analyzing and improving work patterns. By prioritizing focus, creating a communicative environment, and building a culture of trust, businesses can use Talygen’s user activity monitoring software to empower their remote teams and, thus, achieve maximum productivity in the current dynamic work world.

2024.05.28 20:20 Aj06jax09Mar04 Am I being scammed?

Am I being scammed?
I think this person, LorenaLindsey, is trying to scam me. She posted a bag and I DM’d her to ask for the seller and she sent me a link to some website. I thanked her and did not buy anything, that was May 10, today out of the blue she DM’d me again with a website to a Mr Sterling. I searched her comments and she seems to ask different people to DM her about information. She does seem knowledgeable to me, I am new at this. I couldn’t link her profile, I said I’m new and don’t know how to navigate the app, but want to warn others of this if she is a scammer.

2024.05.28 19:01 stupidfwog Events of my new job are sketchy and weird

Hello! I (25f) recently started working at a popular mall shop and even the hiring process was very off to me.
The place is mostly female employees if that matters :) Everything will be in chronological order too ♡
April 15th (Monday) I had interviewed at Mall Store (MS). I go in for my interview with a manager (We’ll call this Manager Lucy) and it went well and I’m told that they have other interviews and I’d hear from the Tuesday or Wednesday of the NEXT week (April 22nd & 23rd) I thought it was a bit weird because that’s just a long time but whatever maybe it’s normal.
Tuesday April 22nd and no call, no email. No big deal, I have another day to receive anything. :) Wednesday April 23rd and again, no call, no email. I think, well I’ll just call tomorrow just because I’d like to be told I didn’t get the job rather than be ghosted by them.
Thursday April 24th I call MS and ask for Lucy. The girl asks for my name I give it, she puts me on hold for a minute and comes back and asks “are you calling about your interview status?” I say yes and she goes “Oh yeah ummm yeah so Lucy isn’t here right now and she’s the hiring manager soooooo call back tomorrow I guess.” And she hangs up on me.
Friday April 25th I’m just checking my email for something else unrelated and I see I have an email from MS company. I open it up and it’s an offer letter for the job. It has a start date (Monday May 6th) but no start time. I found it weird again that everything was so heavily spaced out but whatever. I also found it very weird that I was only given an offer AFTER I had called the store? Idk.
Saturday April 26th I go into MS and ask Lucy what time I should come in for training on the 6th. She goes “oh…there was no start time 😐 That’s weird 😐 Idk come in at 12:00”
Monday, May 6 is just a training day and it’s just online stuff and we are told how to do our payroll but when I got home, the website said access denied then later I had gotten a call to tell me when my next shift was.
Thursday May 9th I go in and it’s basically just another training day. I tell Lucy that I was met with access denied for their HR website to put in my payroll info. She says “Oh yeah, there’s an app you need to use to get on there.” Okay, why not tell me the first day? Then at the end of the day, she shows me where the schedule is at. It is a printed paper schedule stapled to the wall back in the break room. My next shift is an overnight 8pm - 2am shift for inventory.
Monday May 13th I go in for my overnight shift. There’s a few other girls there like 19-26 in ages and they stick me alone in a room and the entire night no one speaks to me and I hear these girls yapping and giggling the entire time while I’m being ignored. And I’ve tried to talk but again, I got ignored. At the end of the night, I had asked Lucy when I would work next as I didn’t see anymore shifts for myself on the schedule. I was told she’d call me when they needed me to come in. Another weird thing is that I had no one’s number so if I needed anything then I’d have to call the store. I’ve never not had at least one coworkers number.
Sunday May 18th around 12:00 I got a call from Lucy saying that I had no call no showed. Instantly I go “oh my god I am so so sorry n I was unaware of any shift! Do you mind telling me what the shift hours were?” I was told the shift was from 8am - 12pm. So she had called me at the end of this shift to tell me I had missed it instead of calling 30 minutes to an hour in like most jobs do. I tell her I was not aware of any shift as she had told me she would call me to come in and the only schedule I had any knowledge of was the printed paper one in the back room. I got told “Oh yeah, you need to go here to find your schedule. I forgot to tell you but because you no call no showed this is still an incident on your part.”
Tuesday May 21st I go in for another overnight shift with the same hours as the first one. Around 12 I get dizzy and fatigued because I have POTS. Well I’m just slashing, barcodes and price tags for a sale that MS was going to have and organizing items in two bins. So I decided to just sit on the floor because I’m still able to do that while sitting. Another manager was working that night, we will call her Ashley, comes and tells me “you cannot sit down“ so I tell her I have pots. she then told me “you never disclosed that you had a disability“ (yes I did in the self identified disability area on my offer letter) She goes “obviously you didn’t because if you did then we wouldn’t have-never mind”. WOULDNT HAVE WHAT
this last Friday was the day I was supposed to be paid so I had worked one two hour training day another four hour training day and then two 6 hour overnight shifts and I haven’t gotten paid for them yet and I was told that I would have gotten paid this last Friday and it is currently Tuesday and I still haven’t gotten paid. I was also told the schedule updates every Saturday. It still has an updated for me. It doesn’t even say off. It’s just blank so I don’t know.
sorry this is so long. I just wanted to know if this was weird or not. thank you for reading ! :)
