2024.05.29 07:42 hammer_smashed_chris Grey fox skeleton

I recently purchased a full grey fox skeleton that arrived to me in pieces, bagged and labeled appropriately to separate what goes where.. I want to put it all back together and display it. The skull was easy as I've done a few skulls in my day, including a grey fox I found in the woods. Does anyone have any good diagrams of grey fox bone structure? It would be especially helpful if it was broken down to spine, ribs, pelvis, legs, feet etc. I would honestly even be willing to pay for something detailed. References, personal diagrams, links to books, etc. Would be super helpful.

Brix Industries, a leader in the material handling sector, has consistently embraced innovation to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability. Among its groundbreaking solutions, the introduction of HDPE pallets stands out as a game-changer. Plastic Pallets Manufacturers High-density polyethylene(HDPE) pallets offer several advantages over traditional wooden or metal pallets, making them a preferred choice for various industries.

What Are HDPE Pallets?

HDPE pallets are made from high-density polyethylene, a robust and durable plastic material. Unlike wooden pallets, which can splinter, warp, and harbor pests, or metal pallets that are heavy and prone to rust, HDPE pallets offer a superior alternative. They are resistant to chemicals, moisture, and extreme temperatures, making them ideal for diverse applications in different environments.

Advantages of HDPE Pallets

Durability and Longevity

One of the most significant benefits of HDPE pallets is their durability. These pallets can withstand heavy loads and rough handling without breaking or deteriorating. Their long lifespan reduces the need for frequent replacements, offering cost savings in the long run.

Hygienic and Easy to Clean

HDPE pallets are non-porous, which means they do not absorb liquids or harbor bacteria. This property makes them exceptionally hygienic and easy to clean, a critical factor for industries such as food and pharmaceuticals where sanitation is paramount.

Lightweight and Ergonomic

Compared to metal pallets, HDPE pallets are significantly lighter, reducing the weight of shipments and, consequently, transportation costs. Their lightweight nature also makes handling easier and safer for workers, improving overall ergonomics and reducing the risk of workplace injuries.

Environmentally Friendly

Brix Industries is committed to sustainability, and HDPE pallets align with this mission. These pallets are fully recyclable, minimizing their environmental impact. Additionally, their long service life reduces waste, contributing to more sustainable material handling practices.

Cost-Effective

While the initial investment in HDPE pallets might be higher than that for wooden pallets, the total cost of ownership is lower. Their durability, reduced maintenance costs, and extended lifespan translate into significant savings over time. Moreover, their lightweight nature reduces shipping costs, further enhancing their cost-effectiveness.

Applications of HDPE Pallets

HDPE pallets are versatile and find applications across various industries. In the food and beverage industry, their hygienic properties ensure compliance with stringent health regulations. The pharmaceutical sector benefits from their chemical resistance and ease of cleaning. Manufacturing and logistics companies appreciate their durability and load-bearing capacity, while retail businesses leverage their aesthetic appeal and ease of handling.

When I first got my hands on the DocaPole Ultimate High-Reach Cleaning Kit, I was amazed at the versatility and ease of use it offered. Cleaning my ceilings and high windows used to be a nightmare, but not anymore!
The 6-24 foot extendable pole is a game-changer. It allows me to reach every nook and cranny without needing a ladder or stool. Plus, with the included dusting attachments and window squeegee, I can tackle every cleaning task with ease.
One thing I really appreciated was the quality craftsmanship. The microfiber material is soft and gentle on all surfaces, making it perfect for delicate items like blinds and fans.
However, there's a downside. The pole can be a bit stiff to extend past 20 feet, which can make some cleaning tasks a bit challenging.
Overall, this cleaning kit has made my life so much easier! It's incredibly useful for hard-to-reach areas and is built to last. If you're tired of struggling with high cleaning, I highly recommend giving the DocaPole a try.

I recently had the pleasure of using the Kapro 886-30 extendable mounting pole to help me with a home improvement project. The first thing that stood out was its excellent build quality. This sturdy pole extends up to 10 feet, making it perfect for reaching high ceilings and hard-to-reach spots.
One of the features I loved about this pole is its color-change marks at every 30cm interval, which made it incredibly easy for me to extend it to the exact height I needed. This proved especially useful when trying to level a room or align furniture. Plus, its UNC thread makes it fully compatible with most laser levels on the market.
The carrying case included in the package was another highlight. It kept my mounting pole safe and secure when not in use, and it also made transporting it around my job site extremely convenient. I didn't have to worry about damaging the pole or anything else in my toolbox getting in the way.
However, there was one minor issue I encountered. The adjustment mechanism could be smoother as sometimes it felt a bit stiff to extend or retract. Despite this minor inconvenience though, overall, the Kapro 886-30 extends well with good stability and durability.
In conclusion, if you're in need of a reliable and safe way to extend your laser level, you should definitely consider this extendable mounting pole. Its high build quality, ease of use, and convenient storage make it a must-have tool for any DIY enthusiast or professional tradesperson.

The long reach of the pole combined with the soft bristle brush has made it incredibly easy for me to clean hard-to-reach areas.
From the top of my car to the underside of my boat, this product has been a game-changer. The extension pole allows me to reach almost any corner without straining myself, and the soft bristles clean effectively without scratching or damaging the surface.
However, one thing I did notice is that the bristles can detach from the brush head quite easily, which could be a potential issue if not addressed. Despite this minor inconvenience, I would highly recommend this product for anyone who needs an efficient and effective way of cleaning hard-to-reach spaces.

🔗Truper Telescopic Steel Extension Pole

I've been using the Truper 10549 Extension Pole for quite some time now, and I must say, it's been a game-changer. This steel extension pole is incredibly sturdy and reliable, making it perfect for painting or reaching high places. The EXTM-24 and EXTM-30 models are telescopic, allowing you to adjust the length to suit your needs.
One of my favorite features is the threaded tip, which lets me attach paint rollers and masonry brushes with ease. The pole extends up to an impressive 9.8 feet, giving me enough reach to tackle any job. However, it can be a little heavy when fully extended, which might be a downside for some users.
Overall, the Truper 10549 Extension Pole has been an indispensable tool in my house. Its rugged construction, versatile attachment options, and adjustable length make it a must-have for anyone looking for a reliable extension pole.

🔗Modular Telescopic Extension Pole System for Safety and Reach

I recently invested in the Unger Teleplus Modular Telescopic Extension Pole System, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer. This silver extendable pole has truly made my life easier when it comes to cleaning high and hard-to-reach areas.
One of the standout features is its modular design. The pole can be easily assembled or disassembled, allowing me to adjust its length to fit any cleaning task at hand. Its versatility means I can extend it from a mere 6 feet all the way up to 30 feet, making it perfect for tackling high windows or ceilings with ease.
The locking mechanisms on this pole add a sense of security that I've come to appreciate. They ensure the pole stays at the desired length, even when fully extended. This safety feature has given me peace of mind knowing that I won't have to worry about the pole collapsing unexpectedly while I'm using it.
Another highlight is the ErgoTec locking cone. This allows me to securely attach cleaning and maintenance tools onto the pole itself, keeping them within reach and preventing unnecessary trips down a ladder.
However, there are some minor drawbacks to this product. Firstly, the material used (anodized aluminium and nylon) makes the pole quite heavy, which can be tiring after extended periods of use. Secondly, while the locking mechanisms work well, they may require a bit of elbow grease to secure the pole firmly at specific lengths.
In conclusion, the Unger Teleplus Modular Telescopic Extension Pole System Silver is definitely worth considering if you're looking to clean high and hard-to-reach areas safely and effectively. Its versatile design, coupled with the locking mechanisms and ErgoTec locking cone, make it a valuable addition to any cleaning toolkit. Just be prepared for some heftiness and a little extra effort when locking the pole at your desired length.

I've been using this extendable window washing kit for a few weeks now, and I must say, it has made my life so much easier. The highlight for me was the 30-foot telescopic pole, which extends my reach to up to 36 feet.
This was a game-changer when it came to cleaning my high windows and solar panels. The swivel squeegee head is also a great feature that makes reaching those tricky angles a breeze. Plus, the microfiber scrubber is incredibly effective at removing dirt and grime, and it's washable and reusable, which is great for the environment.
The only downside I found was that the aluminum pole is a bit bulky and may not be as portable as some might like, but that's a small price to pay for the convenience it brings. Overall, if you're in need of a reliable, extendable window washing tool, this product is definitely worth considering.

🔗4-8' Fiberglass Aluminum Extension Pole

I recently picked up the Mr. Longarm Fiberglass Aluminum Extension Pole, and it has quickly become an indispensable tool in my home improvement arsenal. Its 4-8-foot length makes it perfect for reaching high shelves, changing lightbulbs, and even harvesting fruit from my citrus trees.
One of the things I appreciated most about this extension pole is its ease of use. The die-cast metal threaded end with Lok-thread prevents tools from loosening during use, ensuring a secure and stable connection. The fiberglass 1.25-inch handle tube and 1-inch aluminum slider tube provide ample strength and durability, while the rubberized hand grip ensures a comfortable grip, even when reaching for those high spots.
The proven chuck and collet locking device provide a secure connection to various tools, making tasks like removing dead branches from tall trees or cleaning high windows a breeze. Plus, the fact that it's manufactured right here in the United States speaks to its quality and craftsmanship.
However, one small drawback I encountered is that the extension pole can be a bit heavy and cumbersome when fully extended. This may not be an issue for everyone, but it's something to keep in mind if you're planning to use it for extended periods or in tight spaces.
Overall, I'm incredibly happy with my purchase of the Mr. Longarm Fiberglass Aluminum Extension Pole. Its durability, versatility, and ease of use make it a must-have tool for anyone looking to tackle home improvement projects or extend their reach in various situations. Highly recommended!

As an avid cleaner, I've had the pleasure of using the Docazoo DocaPole 30 ft High Reach Brush Kit. This nifty tool includes an extendable pole, reaching up to 6-24 feet, a soft scrub car wash brush, and a medium bristle brush, all of which have proven their worth in my daily chores.
One of the standout features for me was the ability to extend the pole to reach high ceilings. I've been able to give my ceiling fans a thorough dusting without having to resort to a ladder, which not only saves time but also ensures a safer cleaning experience. The soft scrub brush is gentle enough to use on my car, leaving it spotless, and the medium bristle brush has been perfect for cleaning up spills on my patio.
On the other hand, while the DocaPole offers great reach, it can be a bit unwieldy to handle at full extension. Additionally, I wish there were more variety in the brush types included in the kit. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Docazoo DocaPole 30 ft High Reach Brush Kit has been a game-changer for my cleaning routine, helping me take care of tasks that were previously out of reach.

I never thought I'd be able to pick fruits from my tall apple tree without needing a ladder. But then, the DocaPole Fruit Picker came into my life, changing how I harvest fruits. This amazing tool comes with a 7-30 feet extension pole, which makes reaching high branches a breeze.
I especially love how easy it is to attach the fruit picking basket onto the pole. Unlike other tools that require ratcheting for every use, the DocaPole Fruit Picker only needs the basket collar to be tightened around the adapter provided before the first use. That's it!
One of its standout features is the bruise-free padding within the fruit basket. It helps protect my apples and other fruits from getting bruised while I pick them, ensuring they stay fresh and ripe until I want to eat them.
However, one thing that could be improved is the weight of the tool - it's a little heavier than I'd prefer. But overall, I'm incredibly satisfied with the DocaPole Fruit Picker. It's made my fruit-picking tasks so much simpler and enjoyable.

🔗Durable 4-Feet Aluminum Pole

The interlocking design of this pole has been a boon. Not only does it allow for smoother exterior surfaces but also makes storage a breeze. The collapse feature to a short length ensures easy use and portability. And let me tell you, the Click-Lock tip on this extension pole ensures safe and quick changes of tools - no more fumbling!
However, one downside might be its slight stiffness. While it's incredibly sturdy, sometimes I wish it were more flexible for hard-to-reach spots. But overall, with its durability, strength, and ease of use, the Ettore REA-C-H 2-Section Pole, Gold is definitely worth adding to your cleaning arsenal.

Using the DocaPole Pruning Saw was a game-changer for me. As a homeowner, trimming high branches was always a dreaded task. But with this 30-foot telescopic extension pole, I can tackle those tricky branches safely from the ground! The razor-sharp 13-inch bi-directional blade combined with the sturdy, lightweight handle ensures precise cuts every time.
The DocaPole also features a high-quality aluminum telescoping pole that can handle various attachments, making it versatile for different gardening needs. However, be prepared for some wobble when fully extended. It's a trade-off for its impressive reach.
One highlight was how easy it was to assemble right out of the box. With the DocaPole Pruning Saw's 13-inch bi-directional cut and sharp 3X tooth design, trimming trees has become an effortless chore rather than a daunting one.
In terms of negatives, some users report the product being heavy and cumbersome when fully extended. This could be a potential drawback for those who lack strength or have difficulty handling long poles. However, this did not deter me from using it.

This multi-purpose telescopic pole has been a game-changer for me, not just for window cleaning, but also for gutter cleaning and hanging lights.
The first thing that stood out to me was its length. The 30-foot DocaPole is long enough to reach nearly any spot, yet collapses to a manageable size for safe storage. This makes it incredibly versatile and convenient to use.
Another feature I appreciated was the dual-tip combo. The straight metal tip is perfect for heavy-duty tasks, while the attachable multi-angle hinge tip allows me to access those hard-to-reach areas. This has made cleaning my high windows a breeze.
On the downside, some users have reported that the latches are difficult to press and that the pole tends to bow if fully extended. This may limit the pole's full potential, but I've still found it to be incredibly useful within its intended range.
Overall, the DocaPole 7-30 Foot Extension Pole has been a game-changer for me. Its versatility, strength, and durability make it a must-have tool for anyone who needs help reaching high spots.

I recently had the pleasure of using the Docazoo DocaPole, and I must say, it has been quite the game-changer for my cleaning routine. This 6-24 foot extendable pole comes with a hard bristle brush that's perfect for tackling those hard-to-reach spots on my house siding, decks, and garages. The DocaPole has made my life a whole lot easier, especially when it comes to cleaning my gutter guards. With its sturdy construction and versatile brush attachment, I can scrub even the toughest of grime with ease.
One thing that stood out for me was its portability. The DocaPole is lightweight and compact, which means it's easy to store when not in use and even easier to carry around when I need it. The rubber handle also means that I can use it comfortably for extended periods without my hands getting uncomfortable.
However, there's a slight downside to this otherwise amazing product. The pole itself is quite thin, so applying too much pressure can lead to it bending or warping. This doesn't necessarily affect its cleaning performance, but it's something to keep in mind if you're planning on using it heavily.
Overall, the Docazoo DocaPole has truly revolutionized my cleaning routine. Its portability, sturdiness, and versatile brush attachment make it a must-have tool for anyone looking to keep their house in tip-top shape. The fluted fiberglass handle provides an incredibly comfortable grip, making long periods of use much more manageable. Another standout feature is the nylar threaded end, which means I can securely attach various tools depending on the job at hand. The external chuck and collet locking device make sure the tools stay in place, regardless of how much I extend the pole.
However, there is one thing that could be improved – the size range. While the product is described as being between 2 to 4 ft, in reality, it only extends up to 3.9 ft, which may not be enough for some heavier-duty tasks.
Overall, the Mr. Longarm Pro Pole Extension Pole has made my home improvement projects much more efficient and manageable. • Ensure the pole is securely attached and locked to prevent it from collapsing during use.
  • Do not lean or exert excessive force on the pole, which may cause it to slip or break.
  • Apply even pressure when using the pole to avoid damaging the surface you are working on.
  • Never leave the pole unattended when it is fully extended, as it may collapse on its own or due to wind.

Can a 30 foot extension pole be used indoors?

While a 30 foot extension pole can be used indoors for tasks such as painting high ceilings or changing light fixtures, it may be more challenging to maneuver and control in indoor spaces compared to outdoor settings. Consider your specific task and the indoor space before deciding whether to use an extension pole indoors.

How much weight can a 30 foot extension pole support?

The weight capacity of a 30 foot extension pole depends on its material and design. Before using an extension pole for a task, consult the manufacturer's specifications to ensure that the pole can handle the weight you will be placing on it, as overloading the pole may cause it to break or collapse.

What is the difference between aluminum and fiberglass extension poles?

  • Aluminum poles are generally lighter and more affordable than fiberglass poles. However, they are more prone to bending or denting.
  • Fiberglass poles are stronger and more resistant to bending or cracking, but they are typically heavier and more expensive than aluminum poles.

How do I know if a 30 foot extension pole is adjustable or not?

To determine if a 30 foot extension pole is adjustable, check the product description or specifications provided by the manufacturer. Some poles may have fixed lengths, while others may be adjustable in 5 or 10-foot increments, allowing you to customize the length for each task.

What should I consider when purchasing a 30 foot extension pole?

  • Think about the types of tasks you will be using the pole for, and choose a material and design that best suits your needs.
  • Consider the weight capacity, adjustability, and ease of use and storage when choosing a 30 foot extension pole.
  • Always read reviews and consult the manufacturer's specifications to ensure that you are purchasing a high-quality, reliable product.

How do I assemble and disassemble a 30 foot extension pole?

Assembling and disassembling an extension pole varies depending on the design and features of the specific product. Always refer to the manufacturer's instructions for proper assembly and disassembly. Generally, you will need to connect each section of the pole by sliding them together and securely locking them in place.

🔗Elegant 27x40 Rectangular Poster Frame with Polished Plexiglass

https://preview.redd.it/5uqi4tu3ua3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bf86bfd272c8bbbb8bba75f699042430a4bd966d
I recently had the chance to try out this 27x40 poster frame with hanging hardware included, and I have to say, it was an interesting experience. The first thing that stood out to me was the frame's sleek and stylish appearance, thanks to its polished plexiglass front. The gallery-style design adds an elegant touch to any room, and the plexiglass ensures a clear view of your displayed pictures or posters.
One of the highlights was the hanging hardware. It was incredibly easy to use and secure, allowing for both horizontal and vertical display formats. However, the acrylic/plastic protection instead of the advertised shatter-resistant glass was a bit of a letdown, but it still held up well and didn't get scratched during hanging.
Overall, I appreciated the frame's slim and unobtrusive design, as it didn't take up much space on the wall. Its durability and ease of use make it a great addition to any home or office.

🔗SnapeZo Poster Frame: Lockable, UV Protecting Aluminum Design

https://preview.redd.it/v03gk1e4ua3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a062195101aaac4dc2eb94c79765684e8c9513d
SnapeZo poster frames have become my trusty companion for displaying my movie memorabilia. Just like the magical frames in the movies, these frames seamlessly protect and enhance the vivid colors of my posters. The black 1.25 inch aluminum profile gives it a sleek, modern appearance that perfectly complements the posters.
One of the things that impressed me most was the ease of use. Simply snap off the front cover when it's time to replace the poster, and the frame stays securely attached to the wall. SnapeZo also goes a step further by providing a key for the lock and an array of mounting options, ensuring that my display stands out effortlessly.
However, I must mention that the SnapeZo frame isn't perfect. The provided PVC lens sometimes causes issues with glare, but switching to the UV protection anti-glare cover solves this issue. It's not a significant downside, but it's worth mentioning for those who prioritize non-glare protection.
In conclusion, SnapeZo poster frames offer both convenience and style. With their locking mechanisms, wide-ranging installation methods, and protection from UV rays, these frames are a must-have for any movie enthusiast or anyone who appreciates outstanding poster displays.

🔗Sleek Black 27x40 Poster Frame with Easy Wall Mount

https://preview.redd.it/umcz5wm4ua3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84845b550051253318b4f6beaf26ba65fa68a994
As a lover of all things art, I found myself intrigued by the MCS Black Marseille Poster Frame. This stylish frame has a sleek black finish and a dimension of 30 x 43 inches which is large enough for a 27 x 40-inch photo, poster, or art print.
The clarity of the plexi front is a significant highlight, as it protects my treasured artwork from dust and dirt, with ease of hanging thanks to the pre-attached sawtooth hangers. However, I did notice the frame could be a bit lightweight which might be a concern for those wanting a sturdier option.

🔗Versatile 27x40 Front Loading Portable Snap Frame for Various Applications

https://preview.redd.it/g4jelgf5ua3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a3f24c7376f720b3b3ccc4c61f568997880b8fb2
I recently came across an impressive 27x40 front-loading portable snap frame at an event. Its sleek design and easy-to-use snap feature caught my attention, making it a perfect addition to my collection of portable display frames. The black anodized finish not only adds a touch of class but also protects the frame from scratches.
What stood out to me most about this metal frame is its versatility. It can be used for displaying pictures, posters, documents, or marketing materials in both portrait and landscape orientations. The 1.25-inch thickness allows for a clear view of the printed material while keeping it safe from dust and light damage.
However, one area I believe this frame could improve is its compatibility with larger picture sizes. The 27x40 size is ideal for most posters, but it might not work as well for larger or smaller prints. Additionally, the frame's overall weight makes it slightly less portable than other options on the market.
Overall, this 27x40 front-loading portable snap frame has proved to be a convenient and reliable display solution for various purposes, making it worth considering for your next event or exhibition.

🔗Stylish 27"x40" Black Woodgrain Picture Frame

https://preview.redd.it/kxiv7en5ua3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=edfe7112e5725a8dc1000ade38a6537899993467
I recently had the pleasure of using the Document Frames by MCS in my home. This 27-inch by 40-inch frame was an absolute game-changer when it came to showcasing my favorite photographs and posters. The frame's profile, with a black woodgrain finish, was impressively sturdy and sophisticated. Not to mention, it perfectly complemented the style of the room it was placed in.
One feature that truly stood out to me was the frame's construction, consisting of MDF wood with plastic styrene for added durability and security. I found it to be exceptionally easy to open and hang, thanks to the handy turn buttons that allowed me to slide in my photos with a breeze.
Of course, the pre-attached sawtooth hangers were a thoughtful addition, providing flexibility in the choice of hanging orientation. However, one thing that could have been improved was the frame's material - while it looked stunning, the plastic might have been more prone to scratches or damage over time. But overall, this 27x40 Poster Frame made a significant impact in the way I framed and displayed my treasured moments.

2024.05.29 07:09 FakeLagoon What is the easiest way to display MSSQL data on a website?

About 15 years ago, I thought I wanted to be a software developer and built a basic website with ASP.NET 3.5 to run some SQL queries and display the output in a GridView. The site is still in use, but my career took a different path, so I am not up on the latest languages and frameworks.
What is the easiest way to do something like this today? I expected this to be easier then ever, but haven't found any simple ways to to this. Things like Budibase look easy, but with high overhead and licensing costs.
Do I really need to build my own REST API so I can display the data in AG Grid, or is there a easier way?

2024.05.29 06:53 AirlineMany6941 Doubt About Bitsat

Hey guys, just had a doubt: in the 1st session, after we submitted the paper, an option came to 'enter' our marks in a box, in the page that displayed our score right. I didnt understand what it actually meant and just entered the marks shown on screen. Later an acquaintance of ours whose kid studies at Pilani told us that this facility is available in order to make BITS recheck our score and correct any errors! Is there any truth to this? Would appreciate an informed response to this, as I was easily expecting 300+(having attempted for 350-ish) and ended up with a score in the 250s; that too with an insane number of negatives in math and physics, 2 subjects that felt very easy. Do you think an error could genuinely have happened or was I just remarkably careless on that day?

2024.05.29 06:47 featherwinglove Tightniks Run Two: ...where the concept of *furnaces doesn't exist...

[Let me know if a chapter a week is okay; I'm thinking it might be a bit too often. Run Zero: https://redd.it/1csb71x Run One: https://redd.it/1cwxbsg]
The mining foreman refused to go to sleep, and watched intently as Tightniks finally reached over and set it home with one hand. Its last nervous little sigh was the only thing he remembered-
The ship is without power, and Tightniks can't run the radar much without draining the batteries...
32s: First trap.
He built it big this time, and there are six trimps in there. They look familiar somehow, the light one with dark hair and an unusually short and broad tail compared to the rest, a big-eared green one, a grey one, a yellow one, and a red one with big paws and "XIII" on its rump, and a brown one with pink ears that takes the lead and cheers, "Kakka!" Once he lets them out, they all follow him intently around like just-hatched birds do their mother. He shows them the busted off cockpit and forward cabin of the ship he just crashed and they get inside and start da- ...nope, sticking with "dancing". He busies himself looking for the survival pad.
Until he hears the squeak of a baby trimp. They're feeding it- ...rocks. Carefully selected, aluminate rocks. What the heck are they doing? Whatever, I've got to get some conventional food for- What's that? He's got the survival pad already, but this was outside the ship, it must have materialized when he descended through that glowing grey mist getting out. He gets it flipped over and turned on.
"Manual portal activation 2 successful:" it displays, "rare shield equipped 54%Stg 14%Atk MT 0 Nu loaded / 399 He loaded / Metal challenge active / Total portal activation 956"
Metal challenge? The human selects it.
"You have the Metal challenge active. Tweak the portal to bring you to an alternate reality, where the concept of Miners does not exist, to force yourself to become frugal with equipment crafting strategies. If you complete The Dimension Of Anger without disabling the challenge, miners will re-unlock."
He's so confused, What the Loy is a Dimension of Anger? I think I have a headache from this high gravity. Sits down for a moment.
Notices that one of the trimps is sleeping in a small deep hole just at the edge of the garden, apparently to have a nap in standing upright.
I don't believe you, "portal". I'm training that one first chance I get!
56s: Pop full.
There are ten of them already?? I'm still working this derpy little potato patch to get enough food to bulk up just ONE of the- He looks at the portal pad and blurts out loud, "Fifty-six SECONDS??" He postulates that he's in a time-dilated environment, and that the portal is measuring time somewhere "out there", this "map frame" environment. It's like those Star Trek episodes he can't remember "Wink of an Eye" and "Blink of an Eye" that he can't quite remember. [One of them is Star Trek TOS, and one of them is Star Trek: Voyager and I forget which one came from where.]
1m57s: Arable in Z1c13.
The human walks along and one of the trimps viciously fights the various hostiles that try to come at him, staying ahead. Just behind, he finds that hole-digger busted into a cave big enough for 9 of them, and they start raising babies to fill it up.
3m37s: Miners in Z1c30.
It's broken! he notices of the data card he just picked up. It's one of the ones that flew out of the ship when he undogged the ship's side hatch, but it didn't survive. What was on it? He's got a vague memory of a big tanuki-tailed trimp, much bigger than the- Wait! This memory is of hole-digger all grown up. So this is- he looks at the smashed data card in his hand, ...this is the Miners card. At least there's some lying about so we're not totally deprived of metal.
That's odd. I'm sure I spent longer training this little guy than "one second map frame." The human looks at the black trimp with the grey head fur and silvery eyes, "So, can you say something yet?"
"Shijou." [Takane and Takanya are not black, it is their favorite clothing color.]
"Okay, can you say something else?"
9m12s: Zone 1, 40 pop, 3.5s RC with Z0/1, 13m19s turkimp. 12m55s: First scientist.
"Tai," his first scientist waves at him.
"Hmm," the human tries to think of a better test, "What color is the sky?"
"Shijou." The exasperated human is about to sigh in despair when he notices a card in its hands, with one word on it, "Blue."
"What?" he takes it, "You can't speak but you can write, huh?"
"Shijou," it twirls its paw off the end of the card in his hand. The human turns it over, and in small writing, it has "Technically, the sky isn't blue, it's a foible of Rayleigh scattering in an oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere. And you have 'TIGHTNIKS' embroidered on the left side of your uniform."
A look of astonishment sweeps over the human. I never taught it about Rayleigh scattering. Apparently, the scientist training has unlocked its brain to access the collected knowledge of a previous life! Then he looks at his uniform and groans, spanking his eyebrows in realization. The trimp had apparently noticed him wandering around the camp wracking his brain and talking to himself trying to remember his own name, and it's right there the whole time! He spanks his eyebrows again.
The very well fed grey-headed trimp starts doing experiments, leaving him to take the turkimp back to his farmers. Too bad it's only a quarter as fast at it as he is.
32m25s: Zone 3, 79 pop, 4.5s RC with Z1/2; c16, 79 pop, 6.8s RC with Z2/3.
"Nano! Nano, nano, nano." The D&B (that's dodge and block) foreman has an impressive yellow mane, light face, green body, and brown hind limbs, and moves like a blur when it decides to. When asleep, it's as unarousable as an exhumed fossil, except with the food article Yellow the scientist calls an "owny geary". [Puchim@s Afuu]
Helping it out is a brown-maned white trenching expert Tightniks finds oddly familiar. It has no problem mining, but couldn't start a fire if its life depended on it, so smelting is out of the question.
I guess that's how the Metal challenge really works. Too bad I suck at it. Tightniks is spending all his smelting time smacking out nails and joist hangers for the houses, and has nothing left for fighting gear.
1h53m25s: Zone 9, 306 pop, 7.9s RC with Z8/15, no turkimp.
The white trimp with the brown head fur- ...whichever one it is because it, or one that looks just like it, sometimes (apparently) burns itself up or blows itself up trying to build a metallurgical furnace. This one is digging a hole right now, into the concrete of some ruined building's foundation. It hits some strapping and rebar, makes a happy sound, follows it along and gets it sorta clear of the concrete bonded to it, and rips it out of the ground to throw on the metal pile. It now seems content to do that instead of trying to smelt ores.
"Red?" Tightniks glances at one of his scientists, "Do you think we could take it to- What's that place you said you visited five hundred years after some misty fight or-"
"Cloudy strife," it says, "Yeah, Midgimp is like that, we could probably map a route through there. Lots of metal. Especially the part that had an avalanche happen and fell down. Broke all that stuff out of the ground already." [Final Fantasy VII and Advent Children cinematic and Sector 7 collapse.]
"Okay," Tightniks says, "Let's do that."
5h32m02s: Zone 21, 2042 pop, 14.9s RC with Z20/232, no turkimp.
"Ooooookay," Tightniks growls, "There is something off about this thing."
"Shijou?" the grey one looks at the yellow one with concern about their human starship pilot friend.
The human stoops, picks up the little green gem on the ridge between Zone 20 and 21, looks at it, huffs, and asks, "Any idea where this comes from?"
"Err..." the red one seems hesitant to say, "I think you made it."
"Really?" the human huffs, "How could that be?" Then he tosses it at Red, "See if anything reacts to it. It might be radioactive, so we should take turns to minimize exposure."
"Really?" Red's holding it now, "What makes you say that?"
"Because I'm pissed off for no reason I can figure out," the human says, "I think it's coming from-" he gasps, "Waitamint!" He starts searching for the portal pad.
"Frags," the red one says quickly, "I think it's arranging a route. You're good with maps," it tosses the gem to the grey scientist.
The human has his portal pad up and reads aloud, "You have the Metal challenge active. Tweak the portal to- yada yada yada. Tiss tiss t- complete The Dimension Of Anger without disabling- miners will re-unlock."
\BOOM\** They turn to see (another of) the white brown-haired trimp'/s' attempts at a metallurgical furnace explode, and it seems both very frustrated and has really hurt its toe.
He snaps his fingers, "That's gotta be it. Although, does it mean 'miners' or 'furnaces'?" He re-reads the portal pad while the scientists shrug.
"Shijou," the grey one has just finished tracing the route map the gem was showing.
"Are we going any faster than on previous cycles, you think?" he asks Red.
"What's a cycle?" Red asks.
"We're stuck in time loop, you realize?" the human says.
"Well," the yellow one jumps off a little rock spire it was using to see farther ahead, directly into a seated position on the ground with an impressive thump the human can both hear with his ears and feel through the ground of the more-than-Earth gravity planet, "that explains a few things." The little scientist trimp seems quite morose at the news.
"This thing says the fastest we've ever got this 'anger' map done is ten hours, thirty-five, but the clock right now is at five hours, thirty-four." Tightniks tilts his head, frowns one eyebrow, and taps, "Getting it done faster increases attack damage somehow, and oh-"
"What now?" the yellow one asks, still seated beside the spire.
"It says we already got a 2.5%-er for having a million traps," the human says, "I don't remember doing that. Maybe..." he sighs, "Maybe that's a good thing, 'cus I'd probably go insane building them all. Still though, it says we're going faster, but it doesn't feel like it."
"How'd you know how it feels," Red asks, "if you don't remember it?"
"'Day jaw voo' I think is the term," the human says, "or something. The sense that all this has happened before, but I'm not quite remembering and there's no physical evidence of it."
"Shijooooooooooo..." the grey one moans, waving a card at him. On it:
"In order, but we don't know if that means chronological order or frequency/proportion of memories:
"- The ship crashes (pretty sure that happens every time) "- The human builds huts "- The human teaches some trimps to speak and do science "- The human builds houses "- The human makes maps "- The human builds mansions "- The human blows up and gets himself killed somewhere around Z17 to Z21, often on a dragimp "- The human only recently/occasionally builds hotels "- The human only recently/rarely tamed a dragimp "- The human only recently/rarely mapped the Dimension of Anger"
Tightniks sits down and offers it back.
"Tai," it flatly refuses to take it back, paws up and eyes closed.
"It's kind of a relief," Tightniks rubs his temples, then looks at it again, "knowing it ain't just me."
6h17m43s: Portal PB, 1% AP for sub-8h, 45 He, 7.149 He/hr, 2209 pop, 13.6s RC.
The last head of the map's boss monster goes limp as one of the fighting trimps' dagger points goes into it, and the huge thing settles on its tail, resting on the package that seems to be the prize of this map. And there's a popping sound, and then something mechanical.
Is that a scroll compressor? Tightniks looks at the package. The deflating monster's lifting envelope material drapes over everything underneath it. "Yellow, Shijou!" he snaps and points, "roll up that side of it. Keep this part from sucking down on the extractor nozzle!"
All ten of the scientists jump in, literally, pushing the gas in the bag towards the compressor. Tightniks as well, rolling up the front.
Until he kicks, and nearly trips over, a smaller package that might be the explanation for the reason why the center of the monster's defense seemed to be a little away from the big package he could see. It's in the right place, he realizes. He gets it uncovered and reads stenciled-and-sprayed block letters on it:
"DT TIME PORTAL / THIS SIDE DOWN"
Perhaps the Dimension of Anger is so named because of the rage suddenly rising up in Tightniks' throat. It isn't so much as the free-floating aggression suddenly has an answer, there is definitely a fresh batch of rage and anger as he grips the nearest Dagger V, Mark 2 with both hands-
Refocusing on surviving the next few seconds, the pilot turns on the radar for the final approach and takes a last look around, then straight ahead at his forward camera and primary flight display...
He crouches, sets the dagger down gently, then starts clearing the debris from the box's grab iron. He tries to lift it- Damn, this is heavy! As he gets it turned over, gravity finishes the job, and it shakes the ground with an impressive thud as it falls right side up.
"DT TIME PORTAL / THIS SIDE UP" There's a square cutout in the middle of one side of it, with a sliding cover at the bottom of it.
"Get the pad!" he screams, seeing that his scientists are almost done rolling up the megablimp.
The grey one already has the survival data pad and offers it to him.
"The big one," Tightniks clarifies, "The big one." he picks up wide flat rainbow cable and its edge socket in one hand, "It goes here," he points at it with the other. "It must have come with me-" He had taken the small survival data pad and notices something, "Oh?" He starts looking around, "Hey!"
The white trimp with the brown hair is napping in a hole next to the smouldering remains of its latest attempt at a smelting furnace.
"Hey, mining buddy!" he whistles at it, "Mining buddy!"
It wakes with a start and rushes over, but doesn't seem to be in a good mood. But as soon as Tightnik shows it the survival pad, with all of the mining data installed just as if all those broken data cards and scorched scrolls were intact when he found them, fireworks goes off in the little trimp's eyes and it rushes off with the pad. Within minutes, the first furnace that works is chugging away at some ore and it returns to give the survival data pad back to Tightniks.
7h24m49s: Fresh turkimp; 7h25m30s: Labor reallocated.
The big-eared green lumber foreman's mood fell much further than the mining foreman's mood was before Tightniks packed up the turkimp roaster and moved just about everyone over to the smeltery.
The brown-haired, big-tailed white mining foreman was surprised at the change, and very happy. It had climbed up onto the helium compressor cart to check something on the pad a couple cells into the zone.
"Are you upset with me?" the red one asks the human.
"No, not at all," Tightniks says, "Are you getting the feeling that we had an upset at this point last cycle?"
"How would you know it was only the last?" Yellow asks, "Your memory's no better than ours."
"Right," the human sews another patch into his uniform, "However, I've only actually hit the switch on the portal twice, the first one on a challenge called Discipline, and the second on a challenge called Metal, which we just finished. It's easy to sort out from the statistics. I'm nervous it'll get harder to sort out when we're up to, oh," done fixing his uniform, he pops a bit of turkimp into his mouth and chews a couple times, "a few dozen or hundred manual cycles."
"Friggin' solve this faster than that, please," Red grumbles, "I know the emergency counter got to nearly a thousand, but..." he kinda trails off. Finally, he says, "I think we're remembering more cycle to cycle as we get more helium into it. I mean, I'm glad that isn't the only mechanic."
"Can't miss the supernova if it is," the human ponders.
"What?" Yellow chuckles.
"I'm remembering something from before all this, I think it was called a video game, where you'd go forward real-world in the simulation of a time loop, and your real-life head remembering what you did on previous cycles was the only mechanic," the human takes another bite, then dons his uniform shirt while chewing it. After his head pops out of the not-so-crisp-and-fresh uniform neck hole, buttons still done up, he finishes, "one of them had a supernova." [That would be Outer Wilds among the bunch of games with this mechanic, er, Minnit (I know it's spelled differently than "minute"), 12 Minutes, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and- ...I'm sure there are more.]
11h19m28s: Starting void 1 (L30).
With the thermal gloves on, Tightniks gets the void map into the portal device slot. It dematerializes and his fingers close where it used to be in his hands, then he yelps, stands up and starts dancing, "Oh crap, it's cold!" He quickly starts looking for stuff to bundle up. Once not too uncomfortable, he notices something, "You're having trouble, too?"
"No," Yellow and Red look at each other, "Well, not with the cold; this route has a poisonous atmosphere, slows down our young assimilating aluminum at the proper rate."
"Manning the traps will work at full speed, right?" Tightniks says.
"Should if your fingers can handle it," Red confirms.
11h33m57s: Void 1c100.
"You are one ugly muthaf[garble]!" he says when he sees the void boss, "Stay here, I'll be back." Runs some traps, grabs a couple helmets for the fresh volunteers, "Put these on."
"Shijou?" the grey one looks at the red one, really rather perplexed.
"I agree, that's not his usual accent," Red tilts his head, "Tightniks, what has gotten in to you?"
"Stop cheering me up," the human grumbles, "You think this is the real Quaid?"
"I think the cold is affecting him more than he realizes," Yellow offers.
"Phased plasma rifle in the forty watt range," but what the dizzy pilot actually throws at the zone boss is a Mace V-4, "and then I was thinking of breaking your neck."
[Felt like some- "Arnie? Well, the union is pulling out all the big guns today, huh?" (Tom Hanks as Sully) ...no, brain, Arnold Schwarzenegger, not Arnie Gentile (it was really funny to background Sully and listen to that line instead of "That's definitely you" in Terminator 2 while he's posing with the Minigun.) Arnie lines from Predator, Terminator 2, True Lies, Total Recall and The Terminator.]
"Tweak the portal," reads Tightniks from the portal controller aloud, but quietly, "to bring you to an alternate reality, where Trimps are bigger and stronger, to force yourself to figure out a way to build larger housing. Your Trimps will gather 50% more resources, but your housing will fit 50% fewer Trimps. If you complete The Dimension of Anger without disabling the challenge, your stats will return to normal."
"You will also open a new memory coolant unit," Yellow reads, "You think that'll cause a housing bonus?"
"Shijou," the grey one hands him a card saying "We have enough for another gateway."
"Oh, good," Tightniks hands it back after signing it, "Yes, build it."
"We're doing that next?" Yellow asks.
Tightniks sees the little fellow sitting on top of a mound that the human thought was a bowel movement pile from Draglimp, but it must be something more geological if trimps can climb it, let alone want to. "Yeah, I guess," the human answers, "It kinda scares me, I mean I'm going back, but what happens to you guys?"
"We have too much day javo or whatever you called it," Red says. He's usually on all fours, shakes his left hind leg as though something got stuck to his foot, "This isn't incrementing, I'm sure. 13 is less than 956."
"According to this, you'll be twice as big," Tightniks sets down the portal controller pad and stands up from the cart, "It's hard to imagine, especially for Shijou and Diggy. We'll clear thirty-six, that's it."
14h04m37s: Z33c95, IC.
"Are you sure we can make Zone 37 start?" the red one asks.
The yellow one is standing on Red's shoulders.
"It said we did last time," Tightniks taps on the crude leather bag strapped to his back, the portal pad inside it, "though maybe..." he tilts his head, rolls whatever he was sucking on in his mouth for a moment, "it just happened while I was building those traps. No, I'm sticking with that plan."
"If it's going to take that long," Red grinds its jaws sideways for a moment and lets its eyelids get lazy, frustration clear in its tone, "why do it again?"
"Because I've got a bad feeling about this 'Size' thing," Tightniks says, "it drops our resourcing by 75% assuming we build the same amount of housing as before, which we won't because of the reduced resourcing. We needed 65 capacity in the cabin and huts before we could do run the gypsum/paper wall machine we found. I have a funny feeling that never changes."
"We don't need 65 trimps to run it," Yellow says, "just three."
"Yeah," Tightniks says, "but a particular three that know what they're doing, and my day javoo is telling me the last of those is always the sixty-fifth."
"Shijou," the grey one moans from the other side of Tightniks. Didn't have a note this time, just kicking a little rock along as it walks.
"It thinks you're right," the red one growls forlornly, "Hating to say it, but I do too."
14h16m06s: Skel in c1, 50 bones purchased whipimp.
There's a thump at the cart, and then some commotion around it that's noticable enough for Tightniks to come over and take a look. The bone box is empty, all forty-nine titanium bones in it are gone. Tightiks brings his right hand up in front of him, and it's just a balled fist, the bone he was holding a moment ago is gone. As he starts looking for where he must have dropped it, he realizes maybe it's all related. Looking in the bottom of the empty bone box, he finds a note.
"I got you the whipimp. This new Bad Guy will begin spawning in your next zone at an average of 3 spawns per 100 enemies. I hope it helps, but I can't tell yet."
The note is in Tightniks' own handwriting, although lazy but with more consistent kerning. Is this from an older version of myself? Friggin' time travel.
14h18m48s: This L34 moun 160/27/79 calls itself "Magical Mountain" - I can't remember whether the Disney trademark is that or "Magic Mountain" ...I've seen a "Black Mesa" before, that's a Half-Life thing, and somebody on Reddit made pretend that "Dank Hill" was a King of the Hill thing (which is actually *Hank Hill, I think - it's hard to remember, it wasn't very good and I haven't watched it since the 1990s.)
19h32m00s: Doom/AT, 12816 pop, 80N, 37.7s RC with Z34/5298.
"Okay, we got that friggin' thing chocked," Yellow wipes its brow and almost bonks itself with the Mace VI-2 that it's holding, puts it down and makes sure the wedges are secure.
Grey, Red, and Green are packing more stuff around the huge boulder that chased them down a tunnel to make sure it doesn't do that again.
"Getting any day javoo?" Tightniks pants, hands on his knees, but apparently uninjured, or nearly so.
"Not at all," Yellow vehemently responds, slashing the air with its paw, "You?"
"Oh," Tightniks gets his breathing under control, "I think it was a human movie."
"Like a video on that pad?" it gestures at the human's pocket with the small one.
"No, a bigger screen," the human says.
"Fifty-five inches?" the trimp scientist chuckles.
"More like fifty-five feet," the human rubs the sweat out of his eyes, "Lots of people watching. It was called a sin."
"Ah," the trimp ponders, "Like a crime, vice, psychopathy or bad habit?"
"Er..." the human taps his forehead trying to remember, "Sorry, a cinema."
[The whole thing is obviously an homage to something I remember only slightly better than Tightniks, I think it was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. As I'm posting this, I sadly realize that Nick Rekieta's arrest was between when I wrote this and now.]
19h58m55s: Zone 37, 473 He, 23.67 He/hr, 13088 pop, 81N, 32.1s RC with Z34/5298, 2806 pop short, no turkimp.
The ship is without power, and Tightniks can't run the radar much without draining the batteries...

2024.05.29 06:35 laughnot1807 Is it possible that many apps default to launch in a position between 0 and a max display size?

I moved to Fedora (40) from Windows recently. Common issue, sure, GDM, login screen, wrong monitor, the usual. That was an easy fix thanks to the commands shared by other users all over the web.
But after I installed the nvidia drivers I was kinda forced to change to GNOME on Xorg, since Wayland somehow resulted in too much lag/delay between my keystrokes and the letters on the monitor.
But then, I realized that now any app that I open, they mostly default to my secondary monitor (on the left) even though the one on the right is the primary one. I tried switching cables (reluctanctly, because that made the motherboard screen appear on the other monitor), but after doing so and apropriately configuring the positions, I ended up with the same problem. Monitor on the left gets most of the apps when launched.
I also realized along the way there was this GUI for Nvidia I could open with nvidia-settings from the terminal. I tried to play around with that to no avail. But that's where I noticed the monitor on the left gets a starting position of 0 and there was no way to make the other monitor start on 0 (instead of +1920) and have the one on the left start in -1920.
But anyways, this all made me wonder if it could be the case that any apps default to a position between 0 and a max_width.
How would you go around to try and solve this?
Everything works fine if I invert the order of my monitors making my primary display (on the right) start at 0. But of course it's counterintuitive to move my cursor towards the right to reach the monitor on the left. Unless I could maybe get a sort of way to change displays no matter which border the mouse goes.
I'd appreciate any pointers to guides or material I could get my hands on about this. I honestly don't know what else to google.

2024.05.29 06:23 jennithomas321 How to Improve Ranking on Google in a Week?

Money alone can’t buy Google rank, but with a little time and strategy you can improve your position on the search engine results page (SERP) without spending a dime. Here are 10 free ways to improve your Google search rank.

Tip#1: Improve your website’s user experience.

According to a study on ranking factors by SEMrush, the top four ranking factors are website visits, time on site, pages per session, and bounce rate. All four of those are directly related to your website’s content and user experience, which Google recently emphasized with its Page Experience update. It’s pretty simple: If your website is easy and enjoyable to use and offers valuable information, you’ll get more visitors, who will stay longer on your site and visit more pages, and that will improve your search rank.

Tip#2: Write great content optimized for SEO.

Knowing how to write good website content is one of the best ways to increase traffic and improve your search rank. In fact, Google itself said in a blog post on page experience that having great, relevant content on a page is more important for ranking than page experience. Make sure your content is mistake-free, keyword-rich, mobile-optimized, written to address the specific needs of your target audience, and includes valuable links to additional internal and external content.

Tip#3: Get more backlinks.

Backlinks — links from other sites to yours — are one of the most heavily weighted Google ranking factors. Incoming links to your website content from high-authority domains show your site’s authority, bring in traffic, and improve your search ranking.

Tip#4: Improve your page speed.

Load time is one of the key measurements in Google’s recent Core Web Vitals upgrade, so it’s a good idea to learn how to improve website speed — both to boost your search rank and provide a good user experience.

Tip#5: Fix broken links.

Having quality links on your website is one of the best ways to boost traffic and establish the authority of your site, but links that bring up a 404 error hurt both your user experience and your search rank. Use a tool like BrokenLinkCheck or Dead Link Checker to find any broken links.

Tip#6: Optimize your images.

Optimizing your images is crucial to boosting the speed of your site and making it easier for Google to identify the images on your web pages. Make sure all your website images are compressed, have descriptive filenames, and include alt text.

Tip#7: Use H1 and H2 header tags.

Not only do headers make your content more readable and easier to understand for humans and search engines alike, there is a strong correlation between Google search rank and the use of header tags in the body of your content. Header tags are also a great way to show the structure of your content and emphasize your key points.

Tip#8: Optimize for local search.

More and more people are using their smartphones to search for businesses “near me.” To improve local search engine optimization, make sure you claim your Google My Business listing, provide relevant content in Google Posts, get your business listed in local directories, and improve your online reputation with great online reviews.

Tip#9: Optimize for voice search.

According to a study by Perficient, voice search is no longer growing, but more than 60% of people surveyed still said voice search is their preferred method of asking questions on their smartphone. Make sure you optimize your website for voice search by incorporating likely voice search phrases into your website content — be sure to use full sentences phrased in a natural conversational style rather than single keywords.

Tip#10: Aim for “position zero.”

When a user asks a question in Google Search, Google sometimes pulls content from a relevant website and displays it in a special featured snippet or answer box above the #1 search result. Getting content into a featured snippet.) is a great way to increase traffic (snippets include a link to the page where the content came from), as well as boost the credibility and visibility of your brand. To increase your chances of having your content selected as a featured snippet by Google, think of likely searches related to your business and pepper your site with clear, authoritative answers.

Whenever I hit the range with my trusty Super Precision 30mm optic mount, I've grown to rely on the Reptilia ROF-90 30mm APNT Micro. With its drop-in upgrade, I've found it a reliable addition for my tactical setup. This 30mm quick detach scope mount offers a mounting point at 90 degrees, allowing for a swift transition to my AIMPOINT Micro when I need to engage at close range.
It's a versatile piece of gear that's never let me down.

AUS Mount from Reptilia, for 30mm diameter magnified optics, is a beautifully crafted piece of machinery. This product is the result of a 2-year development program and it truly shows in its design and functionality. The finish, an Anodized Flat Dark Earth, gives it a sleek look that blends well with various M1913 Picatinny rails it can be attached to.
This AUS Mount stands out due to the custom bolt mounting system with an anti-snag, spring-loaded, nitrided steel clamp. The clamp can be tightened using either a 5/32 hex or a flat blade driver for a low-profile, streamline design. The single piece of billet 7075-T6 aluminum, which it is made from, is further enhanced with the MIL-STD Type III Class 2 hard anodize coating.
The AUS Mount is compatible with all of Reptilia's existing 30mm ROF line and will also work with several new ROF products launching soon. Despite its robust build and advanced tech, it is surprisingly lightweight and compatible with different optic configurations.
While there is no denying the AUS Mount's capabilities and aesthetic appeal, users might still find the price a bit steep. Overall, this product is worth the price tag for those who prioritize high precision, durability, and a stylish touch in their magnified optics.

🔗Trijicon Q-LOC 30mm Cantilever Scope Mount with Black Anodized Finish

https://preview.redd.it/868ai74pka3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c22b8c36fe69a7357a0b5b409c14f21aab965c6
As a reviewer, I tested the Trijicon Cantilever Mount, Q-Loc, 30mm, Anodized Finish, Black, 1.93" Bore Height AC22051. It impressed me right off the bat with its sleek black anodized finish, which perfectly blended with my riflescope.
This mount is solid and secure, providing a dependable hold even when I took aim under recoil. Yet, it stands out for its quick-release function. With a simple quarter-turn motion, I was able to detach and re-attach it effortlessly.
The Q-Loc feature makes it incredibly convenient for frequent adjustments or storage. The Trijicon Cantilever Mount does have one downside: it's slightly heavier than some of its competitors. But overall, it was a reliable and functional addition to my setup.

As a sailor, the importance of having a reliable and secure autopilot system cannot be overstated. So when it came time to replace the mounting socket for my autopilot, I decided to give the Raymarine Cantilever Mounting Socket a try. The high-grade design stood out to me and, after a few weeks of using it, I can confidently say that it delivered on its promise of extended lifespan.
One of the things that impressed me most during my first installation was how easy it was to fit on my autopilot. The 30mm cantilever hole was perfect, and with a simple cut and a few twists, the socket was securely in place. I also appreciated the sturdy design, which gave me the confidence that my autopilot would hold up during even the roughest sea conditions.
However, there were a few minor drawbacks as well. After my first use, I had a bit of trouble with the mounting system. Even though the included epoxy was effective in securing the cap, I faced some difficulty getting rid of captured air. Eventually, I found a workaround that involved leaving some of the glue-free while inserting the cap, but I wouldn't say it was ideal.
Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase of the Raymarine Cantilever Mounting Socket. It's a well-engineered product that delivers a rock-solid performance, and while it's priced a bit higher than some alternatives, it's worth it for the peace of mind it provides.

Of course, no product is without its drawbacks. For me, the one downside was the color, which was a bit loud for my taste. However, this is a minor detail that didn't affect the functionality or durability of the rack.

I recently had the chance to use the Shimano Altus CT91 Rear Cantilever Brake with Link Wire during a grueling mountain bike ride. After struggling with my previous brakes, these new ones made a world of difference. The adjustable brake toe and spring tension provided me with peace of mind when braking, especially during those high-speed descents.
One of the things that stood out to me was the straddle wire inclusion. I found myself adjusting it frequently during my ride, which allowed me to fine-tune the brake tension to my liking. The Shimano Reference Number, BR-CT91, also showed me that this was a quality product that would last.
Despite the overall positive experience, I did face a few minor issues. The installation process was a bit longer than I would've liked, and the straddle wire needed some fine-tuning to prevent any unwanted noises or vibrations. However, these issues were easily overcome, and the product's sturdiness and stopping power truly shone through.
In conclusion, the Shimano Altus CT91 Rear Cantilever Brake with Link Wire proved to be an excellent choice for my mountain bike. Its adjustability, durability, and ease of installation made it a win for me, despite those minor hiccups during setup.

The full-motion design allows for easy manual adjustments, enabling me to find the perfect angle for an optimal viewing experience. The package comes with everything I need, including a user manual and hardware pack, making it a hassle-free setup process.
However, one area where it falls short is the bubble level. It doesn't come included with the mount, so users might need to purchase it separately or rely on their own tools for ensuring a perfectly balanced positioning. Nonetheless, this minor inconvenience hasn't detracted from my overall positive experience with the InstallerCCTV Universal Cantilever Wall Mount. It truly is a reliable and user-friendly choice for any TV enthusiast.

2024.05.29 04:49 blurryturtle 2024 Roland Garros Men's Round Two Wednesday Matches

To get this up early, I’m splitting the two days of round 2. Here’s Wednesday’s ATP. The WTA Wednesday matches will go up around 12:30AM EST.

Rublev vs Martinez :

For a good chunk of his career, Rublev has made quick work of matches like this. When he’s the bigger hitter and his opponent doesn’t have a huge serve, he’s supposed to thrive. Lately though, Andrey hasn’t been automatic in these spots. He’s always had a temper, but it’s been on display following his errors lately and it has given his opponents belief. Taro Daniel won a set, and Martinez is at least as good as him. 5 sets with Tirante doesn’t indicate he’s ready to upset Rublev, but I would expect the bulk of this to be fairly competitive. Rublev in 4.

Muller vs Arnadli :

Muller scored a comfortable victory against Luca Nardi in the opening round, and he will continue to battle the Italian federation in round two against Matteo Arnaldi. Arnaldi had a fairly easy time with Arthur Fils, despite getting broken 6 times. Fils is a solid player with all the attributes to be a top player on clay, but he has no patience. He’s extremely willing to go for broke from any position, and when the rally stretches long he tries to hit the big shot as soon as it appears. As a fan, I want to see big shots, but to win on clay you need to play a more conservative approach. Arnaldi is way more stable from the baseline than Fils, but bailing out of rallies early isn’t the right plan because it means Arnaldi doesn’t really feel like he has to do anything special to win.
Muller will hang in rallies longer and is a good bit better than Fils on clay, but he doesn’t have this level of win on his resume yet. Arnaldi’s register is very high and I mostly only see him losing to players who hit bigger. I expect him to have to work harder and longer than he did against Fils, but this should go to Arnaldi in 3-4.

Sonego vs Zhang :

Immense power. A huge forehand. Inconsistent results. A cannon of a serve but a slightly subpar backhand. Which player am I describing? This is a matchup that is very close. Humbert fell apart against Koepfer last week in Lyon and his slump continued, allowing Sonego to get a much-needed win. Zhang had a great draw and took advantage of it, besting Vukic in 4. The big difference I see in these two players is the speed. Sonego is a bit quicker around the court and that might allow him to win a few extra points. Given they both have the ability to protect their service games I would expect a tiebreaker or two, and at least 4 sets. I’m a big Zhang fan but he hasn’t been as good on clay as he was in the Challenger grind, so Sonego in 4-5.

Altmaier vs Tsitsipas :

Tsitsipas was clinical in beating Fucsovics in round one. He’s back with Badosa, he’s a dark horse to win this event, and he’s playing great tennis. Having that focus is big for a player who’s struggled for confidence, and Altmaier is a player he can probably beat. Daniel has always been capable on clay, and he has some amazing clashes with big name players like Sinner in the past, but lately I haven’t loved his level. Beating an inactive Djere was honestly good, but I think Tsitsipas is fresh and will be hitting the ball bigger the entire match here. Altmaier moves the ball well but he will very likely get worn down as this progresses. Tsitsipas in 4.

Shelton vs Nishikori :

Nishikori pulling up and beating one of the better qualifiers was impressive, but I guess if we’re being honest Diallo isn’t automatic yet. He has a bright future, but big hitters can often be undone by a slick defender and Nishikori has all the experience in the world. I think this will be fun because Shelton is a lefty. Attacking Nishikori’s backhand will get him punished up the line and cross-court, because Kei has one of the best backhands the tour has ever seen. The downside is Kei just played a five setter so he might be a bit tired, and he’s not serving well enough to score easy points. Shelton’s team hopefully has told him to take his forehand inside out and down the line as often as possible. Shelton in 4.

Auger-Alliassime vs Squire :

Gutsy performance in round one from Squire. Even in the fifth set tiebreak he was still hitting his backhand down the line for effect, and while he double faulted in a few crucial moments he served effectively the entire match. I’m not sure how his game will fare against Felix. FAA is inconsistent but he’s had a good month and he does everything a little bigger than Squire here. Felix in 3-4.

Korda vs Kwon :

Korda winning in straight sets is honestly surprising the way it feels like his season is going. Checking his history though he’s been winning his fair share of matches, it’s just watching his losses that makes me feel he’s struggling. More surprising is Kwon winning in straights. Ruusuvuori continues to struggle on clay and Kwon returning from a layoff to black him is a great result for him. His insistence on pushing the pace and hitting to the open court will bother Korda a bit, but he’s a bit out of his weight class here. Korda’s serving is good enough to get him through here, but Kwon winning in straights means expecting him to just lose in straights is pretty unreasonable. Korda in 4-5. The problem here is Korda is supposed to win this in straights, but Kwon is supposed to lose round one so he’s at a level beyond what we’re estimating him at when we say Korda in 3.

De Jong vs Alcaraz :

Jesper De Jong won the best match of his career in round one, getting past Jack Draper and setting up a matchup against the current tournament favorite. It almost has to be the end of the road, but De Jong will give us our first look at how Alcaraz is playing. Carlos was immaculate in round one, losing only 4 games, but Wolf is just not good on clay, and is having one of his worst runs ever on tour. Alcaraz in 3 is likely again because De Jong doesn’t have the hugest serve, but this will be much more competitive than the Wolf match. Alcaraz in 3-4.

Hurkacz vs Nakashima :

Considering Mochizuki took Hurkacz to 5, Nakashima has to like his chances here. Mochigoat is one of the fun players to watch on tour and his volleys at net are unreal, but Hurkacz is supposed to win that match in a safe manner. Now he’s playing Nakashima who won against Moreno De Alboran in a solid performance, and has been grinding clay events the entire year, using them almost exclusively to earn his way back into the top 100. Hurkacz won’t necessarily struggle as much in this one; it’s fairly common on tour for players to squeak through a strugglebus performance and feel like they’re freerolling in the next round. You already should have been out, so you play with no pressure and your best tennis comes out.
Hubert’s serve can get him to the finish line against pretty much anyone as well, so Nakashima will have to lock in and try to wear Hurkacz down. It may sound silly, but Isner used to struggle more against the guys that couldn’t ace him. Putting the serve return in is great, but if the other player is a solid baseliner, it means you’re playing 6-8 shot rallies over and over. This can take the legs away from a big server, and Nakashima fits this bill. While I’m bullish on Nakashima here, I think it’s more likely that this will be close enough that anyone can win, and whoever plays the big points better will. A server like Hurkacz in tiebreakers is pretty efficient, and playing a servebot in a 5th is a really tough ask if they’re serving first. Honestly, I saw this match in the draw and thought Nakashima was 50/50, so I’m sticking with it. Nakashima in 5.

Shapovalov vs Tiafoe :

Shapovalov is winning tennis matches again. It’s great to see, but he’s in Dimitrov territory for me. Sure he’s winning, but I’m not going near it because I don’t want to get hurt again. His opponent this round is a player whose range of play goes from “does he even play tennis anymore?” to “omg he’s going to win the US Open” Bellucci almost had Tiafoe, and a few big returns for Tiafoe ended up being the key in the end. Tiafoe will probably be competitive here, and playing a lefty the round before means his backhand got a good workout and he’ll be comfortable with the generic patterns that a lefty will bring. Shapovalov hits bigger than Tiafoe regularly, and it will take a big step up in effort/consistency from Tiafoe to win this. Given his serving ability and the underlying ability to play top level tennis, being sure Tiafoe will lose here doesn’t make sense. I’m expecting a match where both players will be pretty frustrated at times, and I think the one who’s more willing to lock in and play stingy defensive tennis will win. For once, that seems to be Shapo. Shapovalov in 4-5.

Bergs vs Marterer :

There were some wild first round results, but Tabilo losing quickly to Zizou Bergs was one of the biggest. Not only does he get a huge result, but he’s a favorite to win his second round also. Marterer has gotten a lot of respect and fallen short on tour for a few seasons, but he made good on the respect and beat Thompson in 3. Marterer is a powerful lefty who crushes the ball, and the one problem with his game is he sort of plays at one speed. Hitting big is great but he sometimes plays his opponents into form by showing them the same pace over and over. Shapovalov had a similar problem during his slump as well. Marterer shouldn’t be counted out of this match at all, but Bergs is much quicker around the court and I think Maximilian’s backhand will get worn down eventually. Bergs in 4.

Maroszan vs Dimitrov :

I’ll take tickets to this match. Both are through in straight sets, and both hit extremely clean and play skilled tennis. Maroszan can win this match, but I think Dimitrov’s ability to defend will eventually get him through. Maroszan’s power and forehand are good enough to hit some winners, but he also scores a lot off of dropshots. I think it’s still a viable option, but Dimitrov’s speed will make it a risky option. Expecting a high level clash here and when both players are extremely skilled sets usually get traded. Dimitrov in 4 is what I suspect, but since it’s his defense I expect to get him across the finish line this could easily go 5. Maroszan is really good, and it’s just fitness and decision-making that are left for him to work on.

Moutet vs Shevchenko :

Moutet’s coach got a bit spicy before the Jarry match, allegedly mad about fans’ behavior in the Moutet Jarry clash in Chile. It seemed to work, as Moutet played some of the best tennis he ever has and beat Jarry in 4 exhilarating sets. That same level should win this contest, but a slightly different style of opponent can complicate things. Shevchenko is a plucky baseliner and he will make Moutet earn all his points. He managed to outlast Karatsev in round one in a 5 set clash that had a million changes in momentum and 21 breaks. Moutet’s level was higher, but besting another offense is sometimes a simpler task. Shevchenko is going to put the ball in annoying spots and try to outlast Moutet, so this is a mental test. I think Moutet is up for it, but I could see it taking some time to happen. Moutet in 4.

Ofner vs Baez :

Gustavo Heide should be on everyone’s radar now. He hits the ball huge and clean, and has one of the better serves from the young crop of talents on tour. Honestly, when I first saw him 2 years ago I think he was a servebot and an old guy, and now his baseline game has developed in a major way and somehow he’s 22. Stay still Gustavo! Baez had this mostly wrapped up and Heide was tired, and then he won 2 lopsided sets in a row. I was expecting Baez to go on a run here, and he played Ruud close in Geneva so this is a good reprieve for him (playing Ofner). Ofner beat Atmane in 5 and he has the power to compete with Baez, but not the consistency. The 5 setter with Heide was surprising, but I’m willing to chalk it up to Heide’s high level rather than Baez being a flight risk. Baez in 4.

Kotov vs Wawrinka :

Hehe. Kinda fair for these two to play each other. If there were any two players to look both ways during a changeover and then sneak a cupcake out of their bag and scarf it, it’s these two offensive wizards. Kotov managed to outlast Norrie which is honestly a tremendous win, and Wawrinka continued his clay dominance against Murray in a straight set win. Kotov is a little better and has more stamina at this point, but Wawrinka is serving well and I expect him to win at least 1 of the first two sets.
Wawrinka has been losing to a lot of players right around Kotov’s level recently (Martinez in 2, ARV in 3, Borges in 3) so it’s tempting but tricky to declare him a winner. Tennis-wise, my brain won’t let me see Kotov winning. Pavel serves well and hits big, and for a guy who appears out of shape he wins a lot of marathon matches and has good power late in the game. 5 sets with Norrie isn’t going to help him here, and if Wawrinka can get up 2-0 or 2-1 it could easily be goodnight just because he can then open up. Norrie is a tough out, but on clay his shots don’t really clear the court. Wawrinka is almost a clay specialist at this point in his career, and he serves a lot bigger than Cam also.
This is wide open, and if I could skip a match, it’d be this one. Wawrinka in 4 or Kotov in 5. Stan needs to win quickly, but his recent results don’t make it realistic. You can point to him smoking Murray, but Murray is really a gimme these days on clay.

Gasquet vs Sinner :

Jannik Sinner has filled the void that the gradual departure of the big 3 is creating. He was always a tremendous player, but now he’s become extremely reliable at that level. His returning is world class, his serve is constantly improving, and his baseline game is now measured and tactical rather than an all-out assault. He knows when to just put the ball in play, and his footwork is constant. I love it. Gasquet turned back the clock and smoked Coric in straight sets, but the road probably ends here. This will be a high-level match and the crowd will be behind Gasquet in a major way. Jannik is a classy kid and will understand the atmosphere and respect it enough to navigate to the finish line. Sinner in 3-4.

2024.05.29 04:24 cusman78 Sushi Ben on PSVR2 - First Impressions

I have uploaded gameplay from my fresh experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My first impressions are shared below:
Based on my time with it, it is easy to recommend playing Sushi Ben on the PSVR2, provided you are open to a visual novel game that is fully voiced with quality Japanese voice actors and no English audio dubbing available.
It is a VR narrative adventure game where you visit a small seaside town and take on the task of saving a local sushi restaurant from closure while also helping ward off real-estate land grab from the antagonists in the story. Although the focus of the game is the story where you do get to make some dialog choices and can get a game-over (16:54) and then have to repeat from last checkpoint, it also features a variety of mini-games including fishing, table tennis, ghost hunting, stone carving, bug catching, dog walking, archery and more.
Each of these mini-games are short-lived experiences to further the story, so none are built to the depth of stand-alone games and the game even has option to skip all of these and be a story-only-experience. Each mini-game I've played so far has been a good short break from the dialog with decent controls and immersion, so I don't see why anybody would skip these. You certainly shouldn't get this game if you intend to skip through the story sections to get to the mini-games because they are not the star of the game.
The game is using an anime-inspired art style and the character interactions utilize dynamic 3D manga panels that are expressive and entertaining. The game has simple graphics, but looks crisp and clear and running on very high stable framerate with no sign of any reprojection.
I love the soothing soulful atmospheric soundtrack and the story characters are voiced by a cast of seasoned Japanese voice actors (Chiaki Takahashi, Show Hayami, Hideyuki Tanaka, Mamiko Noto, Jouji Nakata) that bring the expressive animations to life with their fantastic voice acting.
The game is using subtle and varied haptics for all varieties of interactions but there will be some cases where it will feel missing or too weak. Overall, it is a good implementation that complements the immersion of the interactivity.
The tutorial of the game has you customize where and how the dialog text will be displayed. It lets you choose the relative position the dialog panels will be displayed, the depth of the panel, and size of the panel (which increases / decreases size of fonts as well). It is important that you get this right for you at this time as it is unclear to me how this can be changed later. Most instructions are given via visual communication panels and while some things may take you a bit to understand, I think it is all intuitive. The key thing is to position the dialog box position and size right for you, understand how your watch tells you where to go next, and how to use the inventory system once that opens up which is also where you will store the map (once you have it).
VR comfort options the game lets you customize includes providing both both snap (default) and smooth turns including turn speed. It also lets you use teleport only or mixed (default) including setting speed of smooth locomotion.
The game has a Platinum trophy and it looks like anybody that plays through and completes the game will end up with the Platinum.
This is a game most interested in being entertaining with its story and characters and it succeeds in that for me because I think it had me smiling the whole time as well as laughing on occasion. Somebody else may be put off by the same, but for me it has an endearing quality, and it is a game I look forward to playing to completion.

2024.05.29 04:10 honeydeww1 aita

i’m on a study abroad in ecuador with a v prestigious college with rich ass kids (many of them in fact come from the richest school district in the country) . i am a rising senior who’s volunteered on farms, played field hockey while having arthritis n unable to eat during a health flare, and has never been hiking before.
it’s our 2 day on the trip and while some things were weird, i already knew it would be as this school isn’t very diverse. we went on a 2 hour hike today through the andean mountains. the first half i was cheery and was trying to help a girl stop fretting about germs and drinking the water from the spring we were hiking to. the second half of the hike picked up a LOT in intensity (hobbit sized enterences, being on the side of a cliffs where one small step would actually send us to massive injury/ death ). i was vocal about needing a break, wanting to slow down ect however the one teacher was usually not around. anothe problem as the group kept breaking up and the path was unfamiliar making it very scary for someone who isn’t used to nature and such. there was one person who stayed back and listened to my feelings and expressed their own frustrat about the group not following hiking code ect. i other than that i felt pretty alone. i explained that this was my first hike and no one seemed to care. on top of that people kept saying thinks like “this is easy” and others. I completed the hike in high spirits with the rest and was joking laughing and talking with them the whole time albeit i did complain and especially towards the end display my frustration.
when we got to camp my professor and the director of the program both dismissed my feelings, which i only shared bc they asked, and generally gave the message of oh well you made it. i explained that i was upset about the lack of communication and direction during the hike and again the same. that night we had reflection and they made everyone ask what was hard and what can we learn from it Teacher 101 on how to embarrass someone who tried to confide in you by making everyone else explain how they handled it just fine. They ended the meeting with 1. humble yourself 2. have an open heart 3. we are a community other bull shit. Mind you they didn’t go on the walk and no one was campaigning about me, they just didn’t like my answers. It’s not that i’m upset i had to do hard work or anything but everyone dismiss my feelings and make it seem like i’m the massive problem. I have had similar issues with this school when people of color are being excluded as i’m vocal about justice. I’ve decided to just keep my thoughts to myself until the meeting now i just kinda wanna go home. I will probably stay but interacting with everyone is weird when community is supposed to support one another and i now know they won’t support me. aita?

2024.05.29 03:43 Ignoradulation These Celtics never had the easiest path to the finals

The Celtics won the ECF for the same reason the Pacers couldn't win their games: experience. Making the finals was the culmination of all the failures of the past few years the Celtics suffered leading up to yesterday. Those past years had the Celtics going toe-to-toe with harder opponents than this year with a weaker roster and it shaped them into the team they have today.
The quality that was on display the most for the Celtics in the series was their execution under duress and in adverse situations. In the years leading up to this one, throughout this season, and in the finals two years ago, we all saw how the Celtics fell short, especially under pressure. Yes, Jrue Holiday was the X-factor that made things possible, but the poise of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum is the real story here.
In game 3, the Celtics didn't lead until 40 second left to go in the 4th and had to fight back over a quarter and a half to come back from down 18. They had to execute perfectly in the final minutes of the game to win and they did - making timely shots, playing with assuredness, and delivering. In game 2 they had to make a clutch shot from distance - something they've never been good at, even evident earlier this season, and then win in OT. In game 4 they had to buckle down and close out when we've seen them fold in previous years.
Haters can say we got the easy road and our opponents were all hurt - but these Celtics were hardened and had their mettle beaten into them over years of facing the toughest opponents and falling short. Nephews have no idea how to appreciate that and only know how to talk shit.

Tower Balance

The combination of towers you are able to pass round 1 with can change quite a lot in any overall strategy, especially for more restrictive game modes, so for this update we have made an effort to open up new starter combinations with improvements to a number of initial placement towers.
Dart Monkey
While we have been working to increase this niche with many new maps, Juggernaut’s functions sub-optimally for the majority of current maps in the game as the knockback doesn’t scale well without good rebound opportunities; to help with this we’re increasing their knockback force slightly with even more emphasis on the less-favored crosspath. We are slightly reducing the cost of Super Monkey Fan Club to overall improve the value of taking multiple to maintain higher uptime
Boomerang Monkey
Boomerang base price is being slightly reduced, already a decent start in many cases though this seemed enough to make slight game start changes and price it differently to other towers. The main attack for MOAB Domination has been scaled up as overall it is a good upgrade but the pierce on this main attack was previously unchanged from the T3. Glaive Lord’s main thrown attacks will now be able to bounce back again and hit the same target multiple times, this can be a very powerful effect so there is a cooldown on how frequently any single Bloon can be re-targeted.
Bomb Shooter
Bloon Crush does its job locking down all movement in an area, but we feel it could see more damage to reduce the stall time without the balance really changing much. Bomb Blitz was recently refitted to a cheaper price range while proportionally keeping a similar power level for the cost, however seeing it now in this spot we feel keeping higher damage will give it the edge it needs to feel more impactful than spamming Recursives.
Tack Shooter
Tack is a very powerful base tower technically, but it is unable to achieve high uptime of that potential power in many early rounds, so some base cost is moving into the cheaper xx1 and xx2 upgrades to make it easier for other towers to start alongside the tack. Additionally, while we’ve held out on this change as there are strong use cases in prior upgrades, Blade Maelstrom lacks the single target punch to last late in Modern Bloons. While it is designed as a high pierce cleanup of low tier Bloons we want to try shifting some pierce to single target damage to feel good for longer.
Glue Gunner
Increased duration has limited use on upgrades that completely destroy targets anyway, so a better crosspath benefit is being added onto 401 glue puddles. Bloon Solver’s pierce is being reduced as it is over-overkill for how many Bloons you realistically see at once, but this reduction should not be noticed for most players. Glue Splatter stands out as weirdly expensive for T2, and is rarely even needed so we’re significantly cutting its price to bring it down to a more affordable range with less pierce, we hope this should make it more worth considering for splatter coverage over piercing. Now that Glue Storm is extremely good for damage type & debuff support we’re removing the bonus speed reduction that should otherwise require xx2 crosspath and lowering the duration of the Glue Storm. New Relentless Glue finally offers something quite powerful so cost is slightly increasing.
Sniper Monkey
Lower tier Shrapnel crosspathing balance doesn’t feel great currently, so the damage crosspath benefits at T1 & T2 are improving. Even with the high damage per shot, Cripple MOAB still has low value outside of debuff capability, we feel that these shots pack enough of a punch now that they should do a little collateral damage - so lets do it! (we’ve also increased shrapnel pierce at this tier to not tip crosspath balance too far to one side).
Monkey Sub
Bloontonium Reactor’s unsubmerged damage is increasing to encourage unsubmerged possibilities. The bonus to Lead on Reactor currently doesn't apply to T5, so this bonus is being carried up and improved along with a small price reduction to Energizer as strategies using it have fallen somewhat in viability. Nautic Siege Core’s hero buff is being improved as currently this is an under-utilized part of the tower.
Monkey Buccaneer
While buccaneer is technically already a very good starter tower for maps that happen to have ideal spots allowing it to attack in both directions we feel this situation isn’t common enough that the tower should be priced around that expectation - this reduced cost is added back to top and bottom T3 upgrades as they do not need the buff. As the paragon has exceptionally powerful scaling mechanics as well as being a paragon that continues to produce cash the XP Unlock requirement is increasing, this increase will not affect players who have already unlocked it.
Monkey Ace
Minor catchup changes to some parts have fallen out of line slightly due to balance changes for other parts of the Ace.
Ace - Goliath Doomship
A lot of stats shuffled around here; this should keep the power level roughly similar overall but with proportionally more of that power coming from the seeking attacks, and less from micro aiming the faster firing frontal gun.
Heli Pilot
Overall Comanche cleanup and stats shuffle; with the goal of improving baseline non-buffed performance and making it less demanding of Geraldo’s Pickle for high damage.
Mortar Monkey
Artillery Battery use has really exploded (!) and over the past few updates it has been sitting fairly steady in a great spot, the current power level feels good but we don’t want to create too big of a gap from the T3 yet so only a very slight cost increase. Blooncineration’s 025 crosspath currently works so much better with external buffs so we're tweaking the 205 crosspath to feel better in some situations.
Wizard Monkey
Wizard has a weaker base tower so the base cost is going down in exchange for a small price increase to the cost to value ratio for the effective Arcane Mastery. As Fireball becomes very forgotten at higher tiers and is hard to even see at Dragon’s Breath, we’re improving the crosspath and adding even more projectiles at T3 for wider explosive coverage. As Shimmer is the slowest de-camo in the game it is important that it not miss when it does trigger, so pierce is greatly increased. Wizard Lord Phoenix’s Wall of Fire hasn’t had any meaningful upgrade progression, so its damage is being increased. Magus is one of the more in-depth Paragons to use effectively so having it as one of the cheapest to unlock didn't feel right, the unlock XP requirements for this and Ninja are being swapped around.
Super Monkey
Super Monkey projectiles already travel most the map length so that total distance is being reduced and adding back via the range-focused middle crosspath. The recent Robo/Tech Terror nerfs had a larger impact on the Anti-Bloon, so it is seeing a larger compensatory price reduction. Legend of the Night’s special passive ability is being failsafe limited to 2 activations per round, per tower.
Ninja Monkey
While a great early game option, Ninja generally struggles with dominant crosspathing choices and also has relatively poor base tower value. Without going into every single change, T3s onward remain relatively unchanged with a lot of prices below T3 being moved around from less favorable crosspaths into bettehigher tier upgrades. Ninja Paragon is very simple to use so unlock XP requirements for this and Wizard Paragon are swapping around so Ninja is the faster unlock. This increase will not affect players who have already unlocked it.
Druid
Passive life generation is being removed in favor of the active ability being the only source of life generation, this allows druid-focus strategies to no longer ‘accidentally’ heal their Vengeance buffs away. Heart of Vengeance itself has been allowed to remain overpowered for a long time since life loss is not always an option in different challenges/modes, but with newer competitive modes being added over time that do allow for this mechanic to be, overindulged, shall we say, it feels due for substantial rebalance.
Banana Farm
Monkey Wall Street’s cost is being increased, but in return its special bonuses have been improved with more life generation and much more range for Banana collection.
Spike Factory
Spike Storm is now exceptionally strong so the ability cooldown is increasing a small amount along with the T5 cost. This comes along with a crosspath rebalance granting more 042 lifespan. Long Life Spikes can start creating a nice buildup of spikes in advance but most of the time feels fairly meh as a stepping stone into Deadly Spikes, a little price here is being shifted up to improve standalone upgrade value.
Monkey Village
Primary Expertise’s own attack is unreliable due partly to low bounce distance, so this is being increased. Base level Monkeyopolis continues to over perform, so the baseline cash generation is reducing.
Engineer
While better than many options, base Engineer still takes a lot of available starting cash so the cost is reduced slightly and being moved back up into Cleansing Foam & Bloontrap; also with a reduction to Double Gun’s price to reflect the lower value of the base tower. Sentry placements are slightly changing to improve their reliability, and will now spawn closer to the track depending on how much range the sentry has. Sentry Champion, while strong with them, is lacking without high buff support so we’re trying out an increase to the sentry damage on it.
Beast Handler
In going over our large list of price changes for Beast Handler’s lower tiers in 42 this change was received very positively, however we did not realize that in making this change we killed off all chance of dual-beast handlers being used as a round 1 starting option for under $650 in hard modes – So we gotta do that math all over again and convert it for difficulty, painful 😀 All T1 beast prices changed to allow 110 & 101 beast handler combos to be placed for under $650 in hard mode, all T2 & T3 prices shifted around to keep these same cost ratios.
Orca is very strong currently but Great White doesn’t do so much outside of max merge MOAB Takedowns, so damage is increasing to improve these non-maxed situations.
Similar to Sentries, Beast spawn placement will now scale closer to the track based on how much range the beast has.
Golden Eagle has stood out more than Condor against MOABs which has felt very wrong, last update it was nerfed against MOABs and now we are playing with the pierce & penalties to improve Golden Eagle further against non-MOAB-Class targets and for Condor more help with lower MOABs.
We’re slightly reducing beast reposition cooldown as the tiny range leaves movement very tight, which is especially painful for Microraptor path given the low range.

Hero Balance

Quincy
Quincy’s Rapid Shot starts with an extremely short duration that slowly increases over levels, the difference between min and max is huge but it doesn’t feel too impactfully increased at any point through the leveling up process, so we are increasing the base duration and instead moving the buff up to max duration all into his Lv13 which currently doesn’t do much.
Gwendolin
Gwendolin’s Heat it Up was recently reworked to allow for much more frequent triggering from attacks, however the 4.5s internal cooldown still limits it from being scaled up far so that internal cooldown is now also being reduced. Additionally, Heat it Up’s bonus buff to damage against Lead targets has been improved slightly so we can get more out of that niche.
Obyn Greenfoot
Obyn isn’t necessarily the best support for every type of Druid to reach its highest DPS, but with his more easy reliable design it feels appropriate for him to solve Druid’s biggest weaknesses in a more laid back approach with:
Benjamin
Benjamin’s Cyber Security and Skimming levels have been swapped around so that the early game skimming cash snowball doesn’t come quite so soon, and Cyber Security can come in earlier where it will make a bigger impact proportionally to the lives being lost.
Admiral Brickell
We’ll probably regret this, but the nerf made people very sad, and that is not a life goal 😢
Etienne
Etienne's drones are prone to missing due to very low projectile speed, this speed is increasing a fair amount to help with this as drones already have an inability to directionally aim well.
Psi
Purple Popping is underwhelming with how late it comes online, so this is swapping around with level 11’s slightly faster pop speed.
Geraldo
Geraldo has been far too powerful for a while and all-round nerfs are coming to many outstanding aspects, however in return a little quality of life is coming with some more forgiving stock capacities and much more flexible Fertilizer; with the % benefit being reduced in return for improved replenish rate, maximum stock and the ability to now work on all Banana Farm types.
Corvus
As Corvus’s power is still considerably top-heavy the mid game performance is being improved with buffs to underused spells, but also top-end power of his 2 most powerful level 20 spells is being reduced to lessen the pressure to ‘need’ to get this far.
Relics
Minor tweaks to Heartless which feels it has no competitive edge over most other Relics & Monkey Boost which overperforms on all available tiles.
Some Relics required more functional changes. As more range is situational and sometimes detrimental Going the Distance has been merged with Durable Shots to also grant increased Lifespan, Durable Shots now instead increases the pierce of all towers. As ‘Popping White Bloons’ is also far too situational Deep Heat now also grants Frozen Bloon popping and improves the duration of Freezes.
Boss Bloons
Bloonarius
This is really just for fun, bringing increased variety of Bleed Bloons from higher tier Bloonarius
Dreadbloon
Rock Bloons in the higher tiers of Normal Dreadbloon are very outscaled, and so their health values are being increased.
Phayze
In Elite mode Phayze’s speed bonus while shielded is being reduced by 5% across the board as it felt just a little too quick.

2024.05.29 03:07 HisSunshine3-9 Citrine and Sea

Hello my love. Yet again I come to an end of a very long, exhausting, emotional day. Today is the day they did AC burial for the girl. That was my roommate. They had a celebration of life at a really nice restaurant near the water and then we took a charter boat out to the middle of the Gulf and they spread her ashes and her wreath and some sunflowers for her. It was very sad but it was also very beautiful to watch. You can tell she was loved by so many and past that. Love on to her husband and her daughters and her stepdaughters and pretty much anyone else that she met. It was comforting and eye-opening to listen to their stories of someone that I barely knew. I only got to spend time with her for that brief. We were in the rehab and then I talked to her a lot on Facebook. But I never saw her again. I still have that picture of us that we took together in there and she made me swear. I would never post it. I never did but I kept the picture. I held it together. Pretty good. I guess that's easy to do when you don't really know the person. But I broke down when they let her ashes go in the water. It was very emotional All together. I took a video for them because everyone else was crying and sad so I thought that they might appreciate it in the future. It's weird how you can feel a connection to someone that you barely even know. But everyone crosses our paths or for a reason and every place we are, especially in moments like that are for a reason. I believe I was brought there to represent friendship for her. Most of her friends are in Colorado or California and couldn't make it. The people that were here today were mostly her family. And then I talked to her husband's brother who lives in St. Louis and he's a cop. I may have opened his eyes a little bit for medical marijuana use for his mother and his wife. He is always saying how bad it is and I just, you know me being me, chimed in with all of my advocation for it and saying how well it's worked for me and many others. Maybe I was meant to cross his path and he can take that information out and change their minds. Minds. Who knows?
Before I headed to the celebration of life, I drove all the way down to Gulfport which is past the St. Pete beaches. Because I found a piece of citrine that was absolutely beautiful and the price was right. It even came with a stand. I can't wait to find the perfect place to display it. It's a very deep bold yellow with a hint of orange. It reminds me of pretty sunflowers, but more importantly, it's a giant tribute to your birthstone and I can put it up in the house. It already has tons of energy because I saw a bunch of other pieces online but that is the one that I had to have. It was calling my name and I drove 45 minutes completely out of the way to go grab it. The person I bought it from seems like they have good energy as well. I am still going to cleanse it myself to ward off anything bad that might be attached to it, but the overall feeling makes me super happy and that tells me that it was meant to be.
I had a couple glasses of wine at the celebration of life. They tasted good at the time, but now I am starting to feel a headache coming on. It happens almost every time I drink anything anymore. I just want to get some coffee or smoke something or take some ibuprofen or eat. I'm not really sure which is going to help. Maybe I need a combination of everything combined. I am so tired. I am not used to pulling all of these really long days without getting a nap or without getting a break in between. I just have to make it through one more day. But tomorrow isn't necessarily a long day. It's just going to be a late day because I go in from 2:00 to close. Part of me just wants to say fuck it and not go but I got to get the money while the money is there and I'm losing a day because of Rs graduation on Thursday so that would defeat the purpose of switching days.
Where have you been my love? I hope you are not angry with me for anything. Of course that is me always thinking the worst. I miss you. I hope to hear from you soon. I have A long drive ahead of me before I make it home. You know I will be writing to you again tomorrow. I hope you had a good day and I hope you have sweet dreams. Can't wait to see you in mine again. Always and forever, I love you more.

2024.05.29 02:35 Nemo__404 Deathworlders Should Not Be Allowed To Date! [Ch. 36/??]

first
Luna VI query: Set the source to the translation logs of Princess Amara Auralyn.
No problem!
Luna VI query: Narrate Amara's plan to flee from the war.
***
The moment Amara's nose caught the scent of that little puff of smoke ascending from Nathan's damaged equipment, she suspected something terrible had happened. Her lack of understanding of the nature of this particular piece of human tech was unimportant. Just from knowing the fact that this was one of the few items Nathan had rushingly retrieved was more than enough for her to infer its importance.
His extremely negative reaction to its destruction also hadn't escaped her notice.
Amid the ragged bursts of breath and droplets of sweat running down his face, he stared at the smoking piece of equipment on the ground as he cursed. Then he stood up in a huff, pulling his hair as if trying to remove it from his scalp.
With the object source of their distress in between herself and Nathan, she asked a question that she already knew the answer to. "Was that the device you would use to request help?"
Nathan was breathing too fast to speak properly. "What else could. It be."
His confirmation was the last straw for her to close her eyes, allowing all the emotions she'd been suppressing to be manifested, like a multi-colored river flowing among her black spots.
When she opened her eyes again, she and Nathan were already locking gazes, him bending his head forward as he used his knees to support his upper body, while she stood upright with her head at the same vertical level as his.
Amara felt a shared sense of anger at the situation between them, but she was also afraid that Nathan’s anger was more targeted at her than at the situation.
It took some courage for her to speak first.
"Do you have other means for contacting your people?" She knew it was unlikely he had that, but it was still a question worth asking.
"The radio transmitter was being jammed. I didn't think of bringing it with me." He was recovering his breath fast. "What about you? There is that earpiece, and yesterday you had that AR visor on all day."
"The communicator in my ear is short-ranged. As for the AR visor..." She struggled to tell the truth, but she still did it. "I hid it inside a hole in a tree and forgot it."
"A hole? In a tree? Are you kidding me?"
The truth was that Amara hid it before entering Nathan's tent on the previous night. She had certain expectations and didn't want to be interrupted by the notifications.
But of course, she would never admit that.
"See any pockets?" She extended both hands and put her tail beside them, showing she had nowhere to store the items.
"Oh… sorry. Sometimes I forget our differences."
Nathan believed her so easily that she felt a little bad for him, but not bad enough to waste their precious time with unnecessary talking. "Even should I go alone, I fear I cannot retrieve our devices. I would just get killed or captured for nothing. We cannot stay here either because soon they will follow your trail; we need a plan."
She was certain the only reason the enemies hadn't followed them yet was because they had underestimated Nathan's ability to run.
"I wouldn't let you go back there even if you wanted to, Amara. But at least you are thinking now." He touched his chin, his eyes wandering around. "And yeah, we need a plan."
Unknowingly to Nathan, his words had caused Amara to drift away. And it was not because of him saying he wouldn't allow her to return, but because of his mention of the fact that she wasn't thinking before.
And this had affected her deeply because she utterly agreed with him.
By noticing how differently Ryo and Elysira had handled the same situation before they had fleed, Amara had reflected about how poorly she had reacted to the war. She was guilty of thinking about this more than just a little while Nathan was putting in all the effort to take her away from danger.
She traced back her mistake to a single moment—when Nathan had told her his list of reasons why they couldn't be together. This was when she had allowed her heart to be poisoned with rejection, which by morning had spiraled out of control by the dreadful reportings she had received, and finally, it had culminated in her emotional response to the crisis.
Which curiously Nathan had later fixed by his total commitment to staying together.
Amara found all of that pathetic.
This time she set her priorities straight as she suppressed her detrimental feelings in favor of reason. "We could trek parallel to the mountain and find a cave to hide until the elders send help."
"How long would that take?" He asked.
His questions triggered a long chain of assumptions in her mind. She first considered the political situation after the disruptive assassinations in the capital, and then the logistics of the deployment of reinforcements.
But Amara discarded the whole plan when she tried to envision how long it would take for her allies to find them in the darkness of the forest, realizing how flawed her suggestion was.
Displaying red, she said, "Help will be here today, yet the war on the ground will turn into a slow spot-and-kill conflict. My thoughts must still be clouded. To hide in the mountains is a death sentence; the rebels would have a better idea where to search for us than my allies would."
Nathan touched his face and shook his head at her admission. Without fully understanding what he was doing, she watched him approach a young tree and stare at its bark as his right arm tensed.
Before she could ask a single question, he punched the rough bark, dislodging some wood from the brittle surface and making it fall.
He said, "I'm such an idiot. Now our only option is to keep running and I didn't even bring the water."
She was taken aback by his reaction.
It was true among her species that the males could be more aggressive under stressful situations. But to go as far as hunting themselves against a tree? This was something she hadn't seen before nor she could understand.
What would she do now?
Of all her priorities, communicating with him was very high on her list. This went much beyond certain feelings she had, being directly linked to their survival. Remembering how Ryo and Elysira had handled the same situation before they had fled, she couldn't help but feel like she and Nathan were still failing at this.
Following more instinct than reason, Amara decided to approach him as the red on her skin gradually gave way to purple at every step she took.
When he was within tails reach of her, she spoke.
"I cannot read your thoughts much less can I see your feelings, but I presume that similar to me you can also sense that we failed today, am I wrong?" Nathan pursed his lips and didn't reply, leaving her at a loss for a moment. Yet she didn't give up and wrapped her tail around his wrist, raising his scraped knuckles for him to see. "Why have you done this?"
"I..." He averted his eyes from the wound, relaxing his arm. "This ain't me I swear Amara. It's just-"
"The drones are coming." She was forced to shut him up with her tail to confirm what she heard in the background while he was speaking. After adjusting the angle of her ears she added, "At least three."
Seeing Nathan's face contort from one weird expression after the other, she could only feel regret and anger that she was forced to interrupt him. But as long as they were alive they could always talk more later.
"Great!" He took a deep breath and lowered his back for her to climb. "Let's see how far I can go without water."
"No." She could hear the drones advancing slowly, likely searching for places where they might have hidden, underestimating how far Nathan had taken her. "I do not doubt you can run more, but there is no point in running unless we can lose them. Can you do what Ryo did and destroy them?"
He didn't look at her as he replied, "I could try, but I don't have whatever aim improving add-on the military gave him, much less the years of training."
"Can I borrow your loud gun then?" Amara had a seed of a plan in her mind, a risky and reckless plan but still better than doing nothing or engaging in more random running.
"What? Do you have any idea how hard is to shoot those things down?" Nathan took her request so badly that he lifted his body again to explain more. "Your species may have precise movements and all, but this revolver needs more than just aiming, there's the recoil, reloading, and I bet it hurt your ears; besides I doubt you can do better than me without having taken a single shot with one of our guns your whole life."
Nathan was not wrong.
No matter how hard it felt to admit it to herself, the truth was that she was not a frontline fighter. She could bring order. She could weed out traitors. She could give directions. But taking a gun and firing at the enemies? Even a gun crafted by her species was something she lacked experience using.
Still, the way that he expressed his doubt without even hearing what she had in mind made her quite angry. It was nothing close to the feeling of rejection from the night, but it was still enough to encourage her to double down on her idea.
"I do not intend to shoot the drones from far away like you humans do." Amara pointed at the canopy of the young tree beside them and waited for him to look up before she added, "I want to ambush them from a close distance."
His eyes widened, but Nathan still wasn't convinced. "That's dangerous Amara. What if you miss it? You'll just let them know where we are for nothing. And even if you don't miss the shots can’t they just send more drones?"
"You speak reason, but my goal extends beyond destroying them. I know how brother and my species think and I want to mislead them." Amara did her best to let him know her intention. "You will have to be my bait too, and we will need to run as fast as we can towards the valleys once I destroy them. I would explain everything if there was time, but right now you will have to trust me."
"You want to go to the valleys..." He spoke in a low voice as he scratched his head.
Seeing that he didn't straight up reject her idea this time, Amara went on for the last push, showing a forced hint of yellow to try and sound confident. "No sane individual would go to the valleys without equipment and a large group, my brother and his army will never consider searching for us in there."
She regretted her wording as soon as she was done speaking, afraid she might have scared Nathan who was taking his time to reply.
But before she could say anything more, Nathan started loading his gun and when he was done he used his thumb to lower a little lever. "You have to pull this thing down each time before pulling the trigger, but I guess you saw me doing it enough times already." He then undid his action before offering the gun to her as he held it by the muzzle. "Don't forget to hold it with all your might or the recoil will hurt you."
She considered saying some words to let him know how much his trust meant to her, but the drones were approaching and there were more important things to say. Her tail simply coiled around the gun, and she took it as the weight of the task ahead caused the object to feel heavier than it was.
She considered if she should ask for more ammunition, but concluded she wouldn't have time to reload, which she knew was bad despite making things significantly easier.
"Go there and make it convincing that you are absolutely exhausted, can you?" Using her tail, Amara pointed at a bright spot on the ground, where a beam of blue light was making its way from the canopies to the ground. "This is important Nathan. The operators must believe you reached your limit, they must report to my brother that you cannot run much longer."
"This won't be too hard." His lips curled into a hint of a smile. "But are you sure they don't use AI instead of operators to guide the drones?"
"Only you humans are crazy enough to disregard the only law the alliance enforces." She started climbing the tree with each of her clawed hands poking holes into the bark from a different side, but when she was already above Nathan, she looked below. "I am counting on you. We made too many mistakes today, one more and it might not be forgiven."
"I'll do what you asked, okay? Just hit the drones and don't fall from the tree." He said before running towards the spot she had instructed him.
With each of them agreeing on their role, Amara kept climbing the tree, finding little difficulty in her initial task. This was so easy that almost all of her attention was focused on tracking the spinning blades of the drones, which were constantly approaching at a speed that suggested they were doing a minute inspection of the ground.
It was only when she was already high above that she noticed the first problem.
If she wanted the advantage of shooting the drones from the same plane they were approaching, Amara would either have to give up a hand for the aim, or she would have to compromise her camouflage by wrapping her legs around the tree to help her tail to hold her body.
Neither of the options was ideal, but doing nothing was even worse, which led her to choose to sacrifice some of her ability to aim in favor of a tighter grip, ensuring that her legs kept hidden behind the trunk as she pressed each of her clawed fingers of her left hand against the rough bark for a secure hold.
Feeling a burning anxiety like she never felt before, she transferred the gun from her tail to her right hand and surrounded the tree with her now free tail to improve her grip even more.
She then turned her head and took a final glance at Nathan and confirmed he was stooping down and breathing loudly, exactly on the spot she had asked him to go.
Now everything was ready.
Amara hid the gun in between her belly and the tree as her whole body mimicked the brownish color of the bark, even her tail and hair transitioning from their typical blue to a copy of the textured color surrounding her.
Her eyes closed and only a mental representation of her surroundings remained, being especially accurate this time as if her her body knew there was no room for mistakes.
As the seconds passed, her heart rate slowed down and her awareness peaked. Of all her body, only her long ears slightly moved as the positions of the three drones became less foggy in her mind the closer they got to her.
The fact that one of them suddenly stopped moving right in front of the tree was something she expected, that being the exact moment its sensors had found Nathan on the ground.
Instead of attacking, Amara waited.
And almost envisioning the exact conversation the operators were having behind their visors, she gauged the time they took to communicate among themselves by observing how long the other two drones had taken to start moving closer to the one that had spotted Nathan first.
This wasn't a lot of time, which put into perspective how fast she would have to act in order to prevent the other two drones from repositioning after the first one was destroyed.
Her heart was beating slowly and her mind was focused; the chances of the targets getting closer were no different than that of them getting more distant.
Somewhere inside she could feel it—now was the perfect moment for her attack.
Amara's eyes snapped open and her heart rate multiplied by nearly threefold, preparing her for intense exertion. The muscles of her left arm propelled her body sideways, taking her head away from the protection of the tree trunk. That happened at the same time that her clawed finger pulled down the little lever, just like Nathan had taught her.
Her eyes locked first on the most distant target, which was not further away from her than twelve meters, and her right arm moved accordingly, raising the gun as her clawed finger slipped into the trigger.
She knew how painful to her ears the noise would be, yet she still forced her eyes to stay open as she pulled the trigger.
Except, she flinched at the last moment and ended up missing the target because of it.
Now her ears were ringing and the number of targets was the same, fueling her fury for the next shots she fired in a quick sequence.
It took three more attempts to destroy the furthest target, turning her fury into apprehension.
And apprehension quickly transitioned into despair when, after destroying the middle target with two shots, she pulled the trigger aiming at the closed drone, only to hear an empty click.
The drone rotated towards her and she also felt Nathan's gaze in the distance, screaming something that she was too numb to understand.
Would she be the reason for their demise?
Just the thought of how happy her brother would be for seeing her so helpless was more than enough of a reason for her to not accept that.
So at the lack of bullets, she spitefully threw the gun at the spinning blades.
And when the outcome of her desperate action did little more than cause the drone to lose control for a few moments, she still refused to give up and pounced on it as if she were a trained huntress.
If Bhaela could jump from a tree and dig her claws into the veins of an Oczoil from high above and survive to tell the tale, why couldn't she do the same with a little drone?
Her confidence only lasted until no part of her body was touching the tree and her limbs contacted the blades, causing a sharp pain, which she promptly forgot as flesh and machine plummeted together.
Amara tried to use her tail and arms to cushion the fall, but unlike Bhaela graceful performance, all she achieved was her belly smashing the drone against the ground before her arms and head split the kinetic energy from the fall.
Her vision went black after that, but Amara knew she wasn't dead because that annoying ringing sound in her ears persisted, reminding her of her failure.
Time became confused in her state of disorientation, and she had no idea how long had passed when she felt her eyes being opened. As she watched the world around her through a red filter, Amara got to see Nathan's mouth moving, but she was unable to grasp a single word he said.
In a rushed manner, he took off his jacket and pulled out a knife, which he then used to slice a piece of fabric.
He said something again, and she felt his hand pressing against her forehead, the severed portion of his jacket he held being large enough to cover even her eyes below.
Amara felt like sleeping this time, the darkness feeling more welcoming than scary.
But before she could fall asleep, she noticed her body being lifted from the ground. And unlike the last time, she was being held from below as Nathan's hand kept her head locked against his body.
The last memory she retained before her consciousness faded was of hearing the rhythmic sound of his breathing and his loud steps below, feeling as if she might have wrapped her tail around his arm. Yet, she remained unsure whether she had truly done so or if it was just a product of her imagination.

Moral Kombat 1: Cure Friendy (Mortal Kombat 1 x PreCure)
Mortal Kombat 1 Kombatant Profile: Iroha Inuka/Cure Friendy
(Hey, Mortal Kombat 1 and Wonderful PreCure could collaborate since well, one and 'wan' which is Japanese for a dog barking sound phonetically similar. Wonderful PreCure uses a similar pun for it's title)
(Well, Komugi and Iroha can tell the difference between a Garugaru and someone like Shang Tsung. You don't use hugs for the later, you kill him or her.)
Note: Her face model is based on her Japanese voice actress (Atsumi Tanezaki) with Mallorie Rodak (Frieren’s English VA) voicing her English voice lines. Her default costume is her costume as Cure Friendy from Wonderful Pretty Cure. She also has her Friendly Tact on the right side of her hip.
Bio:
The only daughter of the Inukai family, Iroha Inukai grew up in an environment where she learnt about how to care for animals as her parents ran an animal care facility and pet saloon and adopted a stray dog; Komugi as her own pet and companion. Long ago, Iroha’s great-grandfather was a member of Unit 731 during World War II who experimented on animals as part of Unit 731’s research into bioweapons. Iroha’s great-grandfather did the experiments for the perceived glory of Japan, only to be terrified that they were used as jumping off points for bioweapons to be developed against Japan’s enemies. Though given immunity after the war with the rest of Unit 731, her great-grandfather was traumatized and resolved to make amends by opening up an animal care clinic that his descendants would inherit and taught his children and grandchildren that all life is worth protecting that would carry on into Iroha and her love for animals.
When Iroha encountered a monster that would later be known as a Garugaru about to kill her classmate; Satoru ,Iroha and Komugi stepped in. It was her and Komugi’s passionate feelings to protect Satoru that led to Komugi and Iroha gaining their Wonderful Pacts, becoming the PreCures known as Cure Friendy and Cure Wonderful with Komugi gaining the ability to assume a human form in the process. Defeating and purifying the Garugaru who turned out to be the Niko Animal known as Mey Mey, they became the Wonderful PreCures, chasing after the Garugaru to purify them.
With the Inukai family invited by Sindel to help check on the animals in the Outworld royal zoo, Iroha and Komugi went to Outworld coincidentally with the Mortal Kombat delegates. However, Iroha would be drawn into a conspiracy by Titan Shang Tsung to destroy the New Era.

"Talk about Kombatant cruelty!"
“Well, you’re expecting a hug?”
“Don’t judge me by my name.”
“Everyone’s smiles light up with your death!”
“For Komugi and Earthrealm!”
“Your blood drinking habits have reduced you to less than animals!” (Against Nitara)
“Don’t think that my gentle nature makes me a pushover, Reiko!” (Against Reiko)
Sample Interaction Dialogue (with herself in a mirror match, Homelander, Peacemaker, Ermac, Omni-Man, Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, Reiko, General Shao, Reptile, Li Mei, Havik, Scorpion, Nitara, Ashrah, Quan Chi, Mileena, Kenshi and Johnny Cage)
“This must be Cure Supreme’s doing!”
“You’re funny, Cure Friendy.”

"Your dog would make for a good target, Iroha."
"I'm going to tear you from the inside out, ass-end first, Supe."

“Cure Friendy? So you two give hugs to your enemies?”
“I told you, we do kill our enemies when the situation calls for it.”

"Have you tried to get someone to befriend your souls individually?"
"If it was that easy, we would have done it way earlier!"

“To kill, one must be cold-blooded, Cure Friendy.”
“It must be balanced with compassion, Bi-Han.”

“How is it that you view your entire family as pets!?”
“Viltrumites are much more superior compared to humans, PreCure!”

“Komugi is such a cute little lapdog….”
“You dare threaten her, Shang Tsung!?”

“The Niko Garden sends out a whelp to fight me?”
“Whelp? See how well I fight, Reiko!”

“You brought Garugarus from their creator!?”
“Well, what better use for them as shock troops!?”

“Syzoth, tell Kung Lao that no, I won’t allow Komugi to be used for his prank.”
“He tried to use my shapeshifting to prank Raiden’s sister.”

“The Garugarus are wreaking havoc in Sun Do!”
“Tell your constables to let me and Komugi handle it!”

“If I hear one more rant about how I ‘oppress’ Komugi….”
“…You’ll never silence me, PreCure!”

“If I see Komugi’s previous owner..I’ll flay that motherfucker alive !”
“That’s not the way to deal with her previous owner, Cure Friendy.”

“Cure Friendy, just listen to us.”
“More fucking excuses to why you prey on all in the Realms?”

“Your great grandfather had a spotty past.”
“He used to experiment on animals.”

“I’m not one for dishing out slow deaths, but you…”
“….I’ve made an impression on you, Cure Friendy.”

“I’m quite gentle by nature, but I can be ruthless.”
“That’s impressive, coming from someone who is quite docile.”

“Do you do hugs all the time in combat?”
“Well, ask those Lin Kuei warriors if I gave them a hug. Oh wait, they’re six feet under.”

“Komugi herself is adorable…”
“You want to cast her in your latest film?”
Tower Ending
(Shot of Cure Friendy fighting a Garugaru being used by the Black Dragon syndicate that fades to Cure Friendy and Cure Wonderful interogating a badly battered thug of the Black Dragon, with Cure Friendy about to loose her temper while lifting said Black Dragon thug by the neck with one hand)
“Once Armageddon was finished, I’ve returned back to Earthrealm. There, I’ve resumed my duties as a PreCure. However, the Garugarus soon changed. Instead of just rampaging as beasts driven amok, they started to appear as part of various less than noble groups such as the Black Dragon.”
(Shot of Cure Friendy gathering various newspaper clippings regarding the Garugarus and their appearance in various criminal groups that fades to them meeting Kenshi and Scorpion.)
“Whoever is behind them has changed tactics, selling the Garugarus as weapons and this change does not bode well for the Niko Garden. Komugi and I realised that we need to change tactics and get allies to help out.”
(Shot of Cure Friendy and Cure Wonderful fighting alongside Scorpion, Kung Lao and Kenshi against some Lin Kuei grunts who are assisted by a Garugaru on their side)
“Together, we’ll be able to get to the bottom of who’s creating the Garugarus and stop them before they can do more harm to the Niko Garden.”
